Re: Why Bitcoin Price In India is Lower than Foreign Market
by
SpadeFX
on 13/11/2017, 18:11:08 UTC
U r saying it wrongly. Price of 1 BTC is more in India than foreign markets
Today price of 1 BTC is 490000 (coinsecure) and price in foreign market is about $7150 and If u convert it into Rs u will understand the difference

The OP is talking about arbitrage. Occasionally, after a pro-longed rally, the market anticipates a correction, but bitcoin still pushes higher and at these specific times people are scared to BUY the top anticipating a drop in price. The last time it happened was last month during the BTG (bitcoin gold) fork and price of bitcoin in India was trading at roughly (-)$500 premium. I look for these opportunities to convert fiat to USD (INR->BTC BTC->USD) and bring back the cash later when the premium goes up and I anticipate a correction

Missing order (again) at CoinSecure, yet another glitch

CoinSecure is either not-reachable at the right time when there's volatility or if it's up it glitches.. have been waiting for over an hour now to edit the "pending sell order", but it just doesn't show up. I tried logging into the Phone app but no help. I also tried other browsers, OS enviornment.. its definitely a coding glitch

No one answers the customer support numbers either.. what's your deal w/ such consistent regression Benson Samuel?

you can create your own site which will you escrow. My friend Alpesh is a bitcoin trader and he had too made a site accepting paytm, airtel money and mobikwik. You can too use this idea orelse start selling bitcoin on localbitcoin.
If you want i can provide you with his number if he permit, you can take his help.

Your Friend sells Bitcoin in price less than Zebpay? If yes, then please give his sites URL via pm, Thanks

9/10 sellers in India sell cheaper than Zebpay Smiley

In my experience if you really want great deals, you need to establish contact w/ some of the super-users at LBC

ZebPay wants me to pay fees of 5000 bits to send 0.12 BTC to a friend, is this realistic?

That's ridiculously high.. I too have noticed them over-charge fee. The standard fee (as of today) is around 200sat/B

Are withdrawals affected as well? I am unsure if I should withdraw fiat or buy bitcoin and move it to Zebpay and withdraw from there. I don't think I entirely believe their 'backlog' story.. hope their management didn't screw anything up.
Unfortunately, CoinSecure's service is getting unreliable  by the day. The outages are ridiculous, whenever there's action 19/20 times the site goes down, locking us out of fiat and bitcoin. I think I'm done w/ them.

Re: Are bitcoin exchnages in India prepared for an upcoming hard fork?
by
SpadeFX

I think users should not leave BTC at exchanges. In such cases, you will have control over both coins in case a hard fork occurs. You also minimize the risk of losing money if exchanges get hacked.

I highly doubt if any of the top exchanges would con you for the split coins. Majority of the people who have their holdings at exchanges are traders and they need those there. For everyone else, who's NOT tech-savvy and not acquainted to understand the security of their personal computers/hand held devices, its better that they hold their coins at an reputable exchange than keep it on their device. The probability of your device getting compromised is much higher than an exchange. Plus exchanges today hardly keep many coins online. For peace of mind, you may diversify any risk by splitting your holdings into multiple top exchanges.
Its needless to say, people w/ larger holdings already keep their coins in hardware wallets or in cold storage.

Update:
Funds still not received.
I am worried a bit now... The amount is significant.

P.S. the amount is approximately 100K

Don't worry, you would receive your funds. Probably the delay is due to banks being closed for the weekend. Wait until Monday.

Re: Anyone having experience in buying BTC from international bitcoin exchanges?
by
SpadeFX

Can anybody remitting money to India use bitcoins? If bitcoins are sent from abroad and then sold in Indian exchanges, are we violating any FEMA guidelines.
Plus remittances are tax free. Is this the case with bitcoins sent from abroad and then sold on Indian exchanges as well?

An article which doesn't go into the taxation/legality aspects..
https://cointelegraph.com/news/receiving-remittances-in-india-with-rupee-you-lose-with-bitcoin-you-profit

You're NOT violating FEMA or any other law by encashing BTCs at Indian Exchanges yet. The same applies for mining bitcoins in India. As of now ordinary income tax applies for both cases.

Re: Will buy BTC at Preev rates. INR payments sent through PayTM, IMPS, etc.
by

on 21/11/2016, 16:26:28 UTC
Nobody is going to sell you at preev rate since all other exchanges are giving preev+10% on selling so why will any one sell to you 10% less?

Also you are a newbie so just see if any is willing to sell will be good.

Any suggestions on buying BTC at international rates via Debit Card, IMPS, PayTM, etc

Technically it is possible at http://cex.io using your credit card/bank transfer. However, I would avoid it, and rather buy from one of the available IN exchanges.

Those accepting Credit /Debit Card are charging a heavy premium cex.io is selling 1BTC for 788 USD plus Card transaction charges

Premium is only for outright buy. Traders are supposed to upload USD and put in a 'Buy Order' for market/best price. Check their 'trade' section.

EDIT- There will be considerable forex charges when using IN credit card, do not expect Google forex rate.

Re: Exchange price is different than international - Why!?

Its called arbitrage trading. In this regard, it may not be as easy to make money as it sounds. Bitcoin maybe a grey area in India, but I am pretty sure there are strict regulations when it comes to selling INR. Check for applicable FEMA regulations if you intend to do this. My guess is, smaller amounts might pass under the radar but anything substantial would definitely invite trouble.

i dont think that there will be an issue dealing with bitcoin in india and since there are no rules and regulations regarding bitcoin i dont think we will get into trouble dealing with it as long as you dont do anything illegal and if you are within the law it is just fine

I think what SpadeFX means to say is sending INR outside India might invite trouble (atleast an explanation) under FEMA if the amount is large.
Yes.

Hi,

I seen that indian exchange (buy & sell) range is around $850+ but current bitcoin price is $750 only.

So is it possible to buy bitcoin from international exchange and sell at indian exchange to get $100 / bitcoin.

In this way easy to earn $1000 just flipping 10 bitcoins in few days.

Anyone is already doing this?

Will go first for Very trusted members escrow welcome

Hi! I am very interested in taking it all. Please PM me. Thanks!
Be careful of newbies dealing with PP. I'd say don't exchange BTC to paypal at all if possible. At any rate seeing as most BTC- PP deals turns out unsuccessful, I'd recommend you to only deal with members that have previously transacted with other payment methods and have at least a trust score of 20.

I don't think any escrows would escrow a PP deal as well

My PayPal account is over 10 years old with over 30,000 transactions. My eBay/Amazon account is over 10 years as well. Almost 100% seller/buyer feedback. Just FYI.

I am okay with Escrow and/or also doing small transactions to start with, or anything else that you might propose. I understand it might be difficult for the seller to trust a new member, but I am all ears and will do best to work it out for both parties.

Anyone else interested, please feel free to contact me.

Thank You!
