One of the best reasons to be confident BlackCoin will go up:
Go look at the githubs of most of these 'competing coins' and laugh. Usually they are like a barren wasteland. You can almost see the tumbleweeds rolling through.
What's the definition of "commit?"
Saved changes to the code.
That's what I thought. Sounds like something that can be abusedUndecided
While commits could be abused to increase the overall count, great devs - including Rat4 - document every commit with the improvement/bugfix each code-change does.  Any time I look at the recent commits applied to BC's source code, I often think "wow, why hasn't anyone thought of that before?".

To be brutally honest, Bitcoin's blockchain innovating wouldn't be so stagnant if devs like Rat4 didn't choose to innovate with something else... BlackCoin Smiley

I will go forward with donating to several charities of my choice... $4500
Donating the Wall Street promotion donations (that other community members sent to you in good faith) to charit(y/ies) is indeed an admirable choice, I look forward to seeing your posts of their thankyou letter(s) following their receipt of payment.

It is a pity that you've unfortunately chosen not to simply pass on the promo donation (in BC, dollars or BTC) to the BC foundation, who it turn would fund another promo (e.g. Wall Street idea) thereby keeping the community-donators happy.

Hi Gocoin,

I see that you have recently added dogecoin Smiley

Is it possible in the future that you will add blackcoin?

We have a growing community and have Coin Kite integration starting on June 1st.

I believe Coin Kite + fund forwarding to Gocoin would make a perfect payment processing solution for blackcoin across the US the EU and the UK.

We also have a 90 day PR company push by http://maxborgesagency.com/ and obviously any publicity could be a win win for both gocoin and blackcoin.

Yours Faithfully

Fingers crossed  Grin

Hi, we talked with GOCoin at Amsterdam conference. Asked to be added. They have heard about BlackCoin but can not add it at the moment. Our market is not liquid enough. Their example: What if someone wants to cash out a TV?

We need more liquidity and they will consider us. They thought we were one of the most interesting markets.

Perhaps worth contacting GoCoin again now that BlackCoin liquidity (62) is much higher than DogeCoin (53), and has been for a few weeks.  They currently process payments in Doge as well as BTC & LTC.

http://www.coingecko.com/?sort_by=liquidity_score

Also they'd likely gain some free promotion courtesy of MBA's activities...

How odd!? Goes straight thru here! ah well sods law.

Go to the Coinkite websiute and get yourself signed up guys. BlackCoin and Coinkite Cards being given away from Wednesday.

Viz
I can open it w/o issues...
The SSL certificate (CloudFlare) on the site referral page has a valid from date/timestamp of ‎08 ‎June ‎2014 12:33:05, which here in the UK has yet to be reached (11:10am).  It's most likely a localised issue with CloudFlare and not CoinKite themselves

I agree with many that SMcKie & another join TheDoge in Washington, meanwhile I suggest Soepkip and the rest of us begin planning for the other upcoming Bitcoin conferences: https://bitcoin.org/en/events

These five jump out:
  • 2014-06-24 ~ Hong Kong, China ~ Inside Bitcoins Conference & Expo
  • 2014-07-01 ~ London, England ~ WIRED Money
  • 2014-07-03 ~ Dublin, Ireland ~ Bitcoin Finance 2014
  • 2014-07-28 ~ Tel Aviv, Israel ~ Inside Bitcoins Conference & Expo
  • 2014-08-09 ~ St. Petersburg, Russia ~ Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies: Prospects for Development in Russia

If our Chinese brethren can get together and promote BC in Hong Kong that'd be cool.

London, Dublin & Israel are easy for Soepkip (and many others) to reach from within the EU.

Pavel (Rat4) may be able to gather a crew together - while staying anonymous himself - to visit St Petersberg.

BlackCoin boots on the ground, in more places! Smiley

http://www.coindesk.com/xapo-bitcoin-debit-card-launch-month/
https://xapo.com/in/campaign/debit/
Once released Xapo's debit card allows a user to load their account-card with Bitcoins and spend them with ANY merchant as normal, via a standard PDQ card terminal. They automatically convert the Bitcoins to the merchant's local currency, and charge the merchant a fee for the transaction (amount/percentage is undisclosed so far).

While the fees are not ideal, the service being provided looks to be an excellent stop-gap until merchants (both online & retail) begin natively accepting Bitcoin and BlackCoin.

The Foundation (Vizique would be ideal) could perhaps contact Xapo to see if there's an opportunity for them to also integrate BlackCoin into their services, thereby taking advantage of BC's superfast transaction times. Meanwhile we would gain an ENORMOUS market for BlackCoin usage. And as the BC and BTC codebases are similar, adoption should prove relatively simple. Win win.

Hey-ho. Long time lurker, first time poster.

Inspired by digibytestore.com, I created a webstore for purchasing blackcoin. A quick FAQ:
Quote
How fast will I receive my Blackcoins?
- You should receive your Blackcoins at most within 24 hours, but usually within an hour of your order. This all depends on what time of day it is as orders are processed by hand.

Can I cancel my order?
- Yes, simply contact us with your order ID and your money will be refunded to you.

Why is it taking so long to process my order?
- The store is ran from Finland, so it might be night where it is a day for you.
We're a new site so the site might also have It's problems, send an email to admin@blackcoinwithpaypal.org if you are facing problems.

Is this a scam?
- No, It's not. If you have doubts, you can always order 50BC at a time. Hardly anyone would scam for a couple of bucks.

How was the site founded?
- The idea was from an excellent digibyte store,  www.digibytestore.co. There was similar need for Blackcoin aswell and so the site was launched.

The prices are higher then in exchanges.
- Money has to be put into the site costs and other expenses. Also, the prices are not updated in real time. So if there is a sudden drop in Blackcoin price and the price is still on yesturdays level, it is because there is a human in control of the site, not a machine.
Also, this is business, not a charity. But we intend to keep the prices at sensible limits.

I apologized for the lame design, It's only temponary. If you do decide to be brave and order from us, please leave a review.
Visit us at BlackCoinWithPayPal.org

thank you for the info.
I will wait for a bit of feedback from the community, if you are ok with it i would add it to http://www.howtobuyblackcoin.com/ once it has been confirmed as a reliable service.

If not already there, you should post this on our subreddit as well, see the link in my siganture.

My colleague has just tested http://www.blackcoinwithpaypal.org and successfully purchased 1000BC (had 1 pack of 1kBC available, wanted 3), it only took approx 2hr to arrive in the wallet: http://blackcha.in/tx/0e4d2a87468ff023e5c581e1a6e4f549a56f16eee6662318a124f860a6ee5241

... a weekly update of progress would be nice.  All it has to be is something like 80% coding completed on blah blah, 50% testing completed.

All devs keep everybody updated as to their project progress at least once a week - some every day or so - in a post here in this thread and/or on BlackCoin's reddit channel.  The BlackCoin news sites often post summaries of these too.  Percentages cannot be given as bugs/faults or new ideas/improvements are readily discovered and need to be implemented/resolved.  Providing percentages/ratios of progress merely provides false hope and leads to disappointment due to unforeseen issues.

I DEMAND TRANSPARENCY from the foundation.  When will POS 2.0 come out?
I DEMAND TRANSPARENCY from the foundation.  Is there going to be an anon wallet for BC or was this just hype?
I DEMAND TRANSPARENCY from the foundation.  When is Legionare wallet comming out?  Dates please..
I DEMAND TRANSPARENCY from the foundation.  How many DEVs are working on new features and who are they?  facts please..
STOP FUCKING WITH INFORMATION BE CLEAR AND DELIVER ON TIME!

I have had enough shit from insider trading information being used against normal people who are not connected to the insider group!

      Further discussions here: http://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/comments/278g39/regarding_the_blkhand_pastebins_ama_ask_your/

A quick point to take here...

This isn't Apple you're making demands to, this is a virtual currency still very much in its infancy. If you are an investor / miner you are entitled to nothing but your speculative position in this currency's future value. Should you be a major contributor to the overall future of Blackcoin then please pardon me as I mean no offense. With that being said, your demands have been echoed throughout the community and the devs are currently working hard to deliver upon their promises. Should a month pass without update your concerns would be justified, however, right now your best course of action is to hold and believe in the overall vision of the coin. If that proves to be too much to ask then im sure a handful of users would be more than happy to purchase your stake in BC at current market prices. Take care

Eloquently put.  Speculators & day-traders will do well to print to out your post and re-read it everyday.

The expanding dev community (especially Rat4) of BlackCoin are working dilligently on their projects.  There are no timeframes; the projects will be ready when they are ready.  Therefore out of the Foundation's control.

Meanwhile, to answer Buy Black's queries to the best of my knowledge:
      • When will POS 2.0 come out?  When it's ready.
      • Is there going to be an anon wallet for BC or was this just hype?  Yes, Legionnaire.
      • When is Legionare wallet comming out?  Dates please..  When it's ready.
      • How many DEVs are working on new features and who are they?  facts please..  Many devs on a number of projects, check Reddit.com/r/blackcoin, the BlackCoin news websites (e.g. DailyBlackCoin) or search back through this thread.
      • STOP FUCKING WITH INFORMATION BE CLEAR AND DELIVER ON TIME!  The foundation and us devs don't fuck with information we provide it when we can, and we don't give timescales because we can't.

The current sell price (of any crypto coin) only affects you if you're selling/trading now.  The price today is not of concern, only the future price matters.

BlackHalo progress update for everyone:
      http://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/comments/277wve/blackhalo_progress_update/
      Quote
The keener BC-redditters will know Pavel (Rat4) & I are assisting David (Dzimbeck) to adapt BitHalo into BlackHalo, of which both applications will become the foundation for the umbrella app NightTrader. Firstly, BitHalo is functioning superbly on the BTC network, and he is currently tweaking functions and ironing out minor usability issues.

The intelligent design decisions that David used to create BitHalo to boost it's development speed have unfortunately provided us with hurdles to overcome in creating BlackHalo, alongside opportunities to massively improve the stability and accessibility of BlackCoin to other developers and users. In short, BitHalo relies on a number of independent third-party BTC services to function; these don't currently exist for BC so we're building them. If David had chosen to code these 'services' directly into his apps, then his development of BitHalo would've taken 3-6 months longer and we wouldn't even be discussing these projects now.

We plan on beta-testing and deploying both Halo apps more-or-less simultaneously. As much more work is involved than originally thought (and Pavel is already overworked with building PoS 2.0) this of course is delaying the release. The side benefit is David has extra time to build and improve NightTrader, bringing it's release nearer to that of both Halo's.

Meanwhile, a superb bonus emerges too: these newly coded BlackCoin services will also strengthen the BC network and allow other third-party apps to be coded & function more efficiently.

Hope that helps clear up some concerns. Please be patient... this is going to be awesome Smiley

Vote on https://hitbtc.com/vote we are currently on 2nd place we can be easy 1st.

Tell your father, sister, friends.... only IP change is needed...vote from your job, home, smartphone... If you register your vote is x10.

      It only takes 1 click!

Why are so many people focussed on adding a coin to more and more exchanges? Do you really think adding BlackCoin on HitBTC will make the coin "better" , or let the coin gain more value?

I don't think so.. A few decent exchanges is more than enough.  For example, we still got Cryptsy.

It's another Exchange that will trade BC for FIAT - not just crapcoins.  More FIAT entrypoints for BC buyers brings liquidity into our market

Comparing BlackCoin to DarkCoin is fruitless, as they are targeting different markets of users.  BC for the everyday retail with super-fast transactions, DRK for the privacy-conscious with it's anonymous transactions.

Congrats to DRK on getting on Bitfinex, and best of luck to both our networks and communities Smiley

Are there issues with the main blockchain viewer at explorer.blackcoin.co, as the block and transaction information displayed and provided by it's API appear to be around 3 days behind; is the website having problems?

Hi, yes, it appears to be lagging behind.

At the moment this one seems to be working:

      www.blackcha.in

Cheers Maarx, I'd already messaged the dev UdjinM6 about how to implement his API earlier today - as we keep getting Bad Request errors - hopefully hear back later, and fingers crossed the issues with the primary one are resolved soon Smiley

my BLK blockchain looks weird for my adrress, i have more transactions that what i have made some big transfers, final balance is correct but there are some weird transactions on the blockchain. those transactions are not in the transaction history of my wallet. final balance is correct though and i've synced it many times with the public ledger to verify.  maybe it's something to do how the PoS works when i keep my wallet open?

Yes that's correct, the 'hidden' transactions are the coin movements for staking
