The Premine represents 3% of the maximum supply. This is used to fund the Cache jobs concept. This means that members of the Cache team, including the core developers, are paid a monthly wage is $CXCHE. This is accountable to the community also.
The banking function will make these wages sustainable over time and have the effect of locking the banked portion of the premine from "dumping". With this model it is not in the teams own interests to "dump". Bounties and job roles have been handled on Discord so far.
Growth is slow but steady and respects those that engage as team members have day jobs to live by as there is no "get rich quick" scheme here - rather a sustainable community is being developed.
I am speaking not as the founder of Cache but as a person who is contributing time, expertise, and resources by choice for my wage in $CXCHE and belief in the concept when I came across it.
Looking for something unique? Here it is. It will build as more see the same and the intrinsic value is not just in mining cost but the very effort of people contributing to Cache in their job roles.

we are stopping our pool at 12:00 pm at german time, because not all payments are going out and it don't works well.
so we are paying all owed coins manually out.
we are back online when dev release new source code and all works well again.
we hope you all understand our decision...

It is confusing but on the front page OP download Windows client - It is actually a launcher, not the wallet itself, so be ok with it saying Espers-v0.8.4.2-Patch-4
Extract the launcher and run, you will see small window - click update
Let it do its stuff then run launcher again, look down the bottom of the window and you will see version 0.8.4.2.5
Espers-qt.exe is in ......... AppData\Roaming\CryptoCoderz\ESP-Client or whatever custom directory you gave.
Wasn't this whole launcher thing supposed to make things simpler? Apparently I'm not the only one who finds it more of a hassle.
When it comes to simplicity, nothing beats a plain old zip file with the executable and whatever libraries it depends on. I wish that was still available
I tend to agree, the good intentions are there but confusion has resulted.
Maybe if the launcher in the OP had have been renamed to be consistent with the current update and called an installer/updater the intention would have been realized?

OK i go to page 1 of this thread and see Patch 5 (had no clue that was the latest QT) and I go to the Ubuntu github and bunch of github stuff and I see QT but says 2 months ago, so I assume that isn't it. So I go to Windows and figure I'll use wine to open it up. So I tap it and it shows Patch 4 so I assume I don't want that though this is off of Page 1??? Where's the latest wallet or Patch 5?

I cannot get Espers Prototype to sync. Stuck at 299 blocks.
Tried 2 computers. Port is forwarded ok on the router.

I have a website and I would like to promote espers. I set up a menu, ESPERS and I also have widget space.
I would like to see if there would be any image or text to use for both spots? Widget would be logo banner, linked to somewhere. The menu could have same image with direct embed link, but what text would this community like to see? Hunt me down.

We are regret to inform all of you here that due to absolutely no sign ups for any of the services offered through Catlin Computer Solutions, they have come to the conclusion that crypto is not a profitable venture and are therefore no longer offer cloud storage, hosting and other services for ESP.
That's impatient if I ever saw one. It's been a month for them?
Yes, I think impatient. Crypto takes time. ESP needs to develop value too. And even in "normal" world rule of thumb is allow 6 months for something new to gain market acceptance.

One question: You developers already had an idea or an outline of how would the mailing system before ANN earlier this year?
We are regret to inform all of you here that due to absolutely no sign ups for any of the services offered through Catlin Computer Solutions, they have come to the conclusion that crypto is not a profitable venture and are therefore no longer offer cloud storage, hosting and other services for ESP.
In light of this we will be switching over to providing these services in house directly for ESP and others with our own servers. More news on this later
Integrated mining will be the focus over the next two days. We'll keep you posted on the development of the integrated mining and post some screenshots
I think the Catlin services would have been more attractive if the cost in ESP more was visible rather than everything based on ask for a quote.
Wouldn't it be interesting though if storage was decentralised into ESP system itself, later on, to give more purpose to the coin? Site on blockchain, decentralised storage, secure messaging ... maybe food for thought.

Could be 50% burn 50% keep for bounties and future promotions
I think we should burn some for the following reasons:
2 month of miming by both chains (esp1 and esp2)
First days of PoS (before 20000 block) on esp2 chain was generated over 250million coins

Isn't any effect that would be achieved by burning (reducing coins) already done by doing the 10:1 swap in the first place? What will a little more reduction achieve really? If there is an opportunity for this coin and community to benefit from a promotional fund shouldn't that path be taken rather than a path with negligible effect on the coin or even potentially slowing development? Consider 250million coins just a little in the direction of those that favoured no swap in the first place - on balance we should be focusing on these coins circulating, not the total somewhat up or down

Reading through this I tend to think stick with the plan rather than burn anything. I am hardly knowledgeable enough to know the effects of burning or not but to me a resource for marketing and promotion of Espers seems rather needed at this stage. The coin must be known about, does that not go hand in hand with usability and liquidity, value even?
As the hard work of the developers is added to Espers these new features must be promoted to attract new users to the project bringing along with them strength and life to Espers.

Still no network connection.

Network connection is fine here. Not being able to check for updates maybe indicates a firewall issue.
Is this windows? If so windows firewall may be blocking the Espers-qt.exe application. For a possible quick fix exit Espers and try moving Espers-qt.exe to another folder, launch Espers-qt.exe and give windows firewall permission for private and public networks (windows may be treating yours as public blocking Espers now)
