I'm sorry to hear this OP.  Did you by chance download your BTCD wallet from electrumdiamond dot com?

In May of this year (2018), I too was hacked by this malware wallet.  :-(

DM, if you would like to discuss.

@ op

this is the rental on nice-hash

S   #1963886      this is the order number

0.7638   0.01   11   0.0116
0.10
Remaining
0.00055772 BTC
Estimated time
~0d 1h 30m

it is for solo mining I hit the block I will toss you coins

since I spent 0.005 btc my odds to hit are small

it is for LTC so there are 25 ltc in a block

While I very much appreciate the gesture, please keep the coins...

My worldview keeps me from accepting gifts like that, as I still have a roof over my head, food to eat, and the will to work. I have a bit of a complex in knowing I earned and bought every coin I had. Eventually I suspect I’ll begin building again and there’s something to that pride of perspective, good or bad.

Thank you though!

In due time, yes.

Beware to all, don’t download closed source wallets to collect your forks(snapshot in the last 6 months) in the mean time.

Don’t input your CURRENT BTC seeds into a forked wallet.

Don’t send BTC to your old seeds after you’ve input them a wallet.

So many rules. So easy to break them. So harsh the consequences.

Bitmex 100x sounds like a plan to recover, no? /sarcasm/

REALLY, thank you all... Never have I exhibited such knowingly risky behavior and been burned so hard. I’m normally a very risk averse person. Yet in this case, I disregarded my better judgement as if I was blinded by greed. Fascinating to question my personal headspace and why I made the decisions that I did. I just don’t fucking get it. Anyway, thanks for the kind words.

Its weird because you gave the address '1QFFas4xGSy1p1Kj2ghyD6BJhVDmwWmyKb' but this address never had a single transaction, how you lose 13 btc?
https://blockchain.info/address/1QFFas4xGSy1p1Kj2ghyD6BJhVDmwWmyKb

And about ledger nano, i didn't understand how could it possible, because you need to approve the transaction physically pushing the button.

I didn't saying that you are a lier, im so sorry if this is all true but i think that have some missing information about it.

Here are three messages detailing the input to the Ledger Wallet where the full amount was swept.  I'm sorry if I haven't been utterly clear, this hasn't been the greatest of experiences. Is there something odd with signing a SegWit address?

I can't sign a message from 3LsvHPBGuEVLZZDUiUuNdNi33T7zmTBC7o where the stolen transaction went.

Of course, it is very unpleasant to lose such a large amount of bitcoins. But I still think you're ignoring your safety. When it comes to your own money, you need to be more serious and a hundred times to recheck everything.

May I ask what you mean by ‘my safety’? If by safety, you’re referring to my Operational Security, I don’t know why I  lapsed in inputting my BTC seeds. Minutes before I had sent ONLY my previous seeds to a trusted 3rd party to spilt the forks, I was attempting to split. Why I input my primary BTC seeds, I cannot fathom.

As for storage, my thought 2 weeks ago, was to split up the locations, but due to the needs to explore my two Ledgers and multiple previous wallets for tax transactions, I hadn’t gotten around to it. Bad excuse, I know. That amount of coinage wasn’t all on one Ledger for long.

I’m sickened by the fact that I thought I knew how to handle data securely. I knew not to install questionable software. My judgement lapsed there as I was lulled into only d/l ing Apple App Store software ONLY. I know better, yet misstepped there.

I’ve also been reevaluating storage of seeds and their OpSec. Bank safety deposit box? Could get confiscated. Home safe? Could get stolen. Behind picture frame? Could get burned down. With a Lawyer, Family Memeber? Meh... Bury them with a treasure map? Seems like a recklass decision. Having ones Bitcoin distributed far and wide seems best... suggestions are welcome.

I do believe I understand the Security lapses AND the nuances involved with what led to them. It sickens me.

The OP was registered on 2nd May 2018 and last active 4th May 2018 - today is 11th May 2018

As sad as this unfortunate event was it is time to let it go and stop posting here just as the OP has too.

Hi JollyGood, I’m sorry if my lack of response is out of the ordinary. I have been following along with each post.

To be quite honest, I’m utterly devastated by the events that have led me to this point. Never have I felt such a magnitude of anxiety and depression. I’m a good man, work hard, and have a generally positive worldview of humanity. This experience is truly testing that worldview and its cross with the functionality of Bitcoin. To have made mistakes so tragically unforgivable is a really hard thing to swallow. I don’t know how to find a steady breath and heartbeat again. I’m so freaking devastated with my mistake, I don’t know what to do. I can’t sleep. I can hardly eat. My mind is garbage at work. The world is really dark right now with my belief in humanity, at the margins, at an all time low.

If anyone knows the person who holds the keys, I’m begging from the bottom of my heart.

Please don’t wipe me out.

I have not actively sought out who holds the BTC.
The BTC looks to have moved a couple times and has been still for a short bit.
It’s out of my hands completely as to whether it gets returned or not.
I truly hope they find it in their heart to return it and release me from this nightmare.
I’m very humbled by the experience and will be changing my OPSec going forward regardless.

It's really very unfortunate, I who know it alone feel very sad and shocked. It seems that it could happen because of our own mistakes or indeed there are who can hack all the wallet you have. It is true in need of more security if such cases are frequent.

I’m taking full responsibility for this security breech. It was my fault and I have to live with the consequences.

Bitcoin is the accumulation of all that is good and all that is bad within society. If self sovereign money is possible, it’s incumbent upon me to have secured my money better. I thought I was taking good precautions. I was wrong.

I’m way more redpilled to realize I’d be a USD ‘millionaire’.
I’d have the same amount of BTC as I had before the hack.
1BTC=1BTC

1 Month ago, I was notified my position on our Program is ending next Spring 2019.
My Corp is retaining me until then. When I was told this, I actually felt a sense of freedom to explore the world.
My plan was to HODL until next year and reevaluate.
Maybe sell the house? Maybe pay off the house and find a new life path.
Starting a new career and use my BTC as the startup capital. Advance adoption through usage.
All that seems to have shattered...

Anyone support a hardfork to recover? Totally kidding. Immutable means immutable.  Cry

I really appreciate each of your comments, condolences and criticisms.

Personally, I’m an emotional wreck. Every time I think about this, i just start shaking. I’m NOT suicidal to be clear. It’s just really hard to think my financial freedom from this whole fucking rigged system is gone. The whole reason I entered this space was to have control over my destiny. I’m helpless to the cosmos. Maybe this is a lesson that I was helpless all along. Please, if you’re out there, spare me from my mistakes.

Yes, I am aware. I was aware. I don’t know why I decided to compromise my BTC seeds like that.

As for the reinvested forks, if it was solely a financial decision, the reinvestment of Forks into BTC, (BIG) if you have the courage of conviction of what fork will win. I have a Masters in Finance on top of an Aerospace Engineering Degree. I understand Economics and International Monantary Policy. I understand why BTC is a game changer. I’d like to think I have a fairly acute sense of the world. I’m probably too naive though when it comes to truly undertanding software attack vectors.  So, while the Financial thesis is there to support forking coins, my Computer Science skills are still very lacking. I should have known my limitations and not been so greedy.

If you’re gonna be dumb, you better be tough.

But seriously OP, what the hell were you thinking...

Greed, in so much that I wanted to turn those forks into more BTC. I don’t trade because I don’t have the short term gut to eliminate emotions. I only accumulate BTC. My thought was that these forks help put BTC into the hands of people who have the same social concensus of money. The forked coins allow people to experiment in finding their own consensus. It seems justified to capitalize on that. The risks are too high to fuck around with them though.

Extremely sad to hear what happened with you. Angry

But can you or some one else please explain how exactly this happened??

So how exactly did this happen?

I believe the point of compromise happened at one of two places.

1. Using the Ledger to connect to the one of the two BTCP/BTCD Electrum Wallets. The BTCP has an app on the Ledger. The BTCD does not.

2. I don’t recall doing this for my BTC seeds but I might have input them in my hand into the BTCP/BTCD wallets.
That would mean a keylogger has compromised my setup. I’m not normally adventurous in downloading foreign software, generally, aside from rogue Bitcoin wallets (heh...).

So I’m not blaming the BTCP or BTCD Electrum wallets outright as it could have been me inputting my BTC seeds. I don’t recall doing that with my BTC seeds but Indo remember doing that with the old seeds that’s had the BTC already moved.

If anyone is familiar with the BTCP Electrum wallet off Github, that’s where I got it. I’ll have to confirm but I believe I also got the BTCD from there.  I’m sorry if this is unclear. My head is spinning and I’m not sure on where I was compromised.

Thank you all for your concern! I mean it! I really think I practice good OPSec up until this lapse of judgement. I ‘just had to see if it would work’ when I plugged my BTC filled Ledger into the Electrum wallets. I had spent the previous day using all my previous seeds, where I thought the BTCP/BTCD was located, to no avail. Now I’m up shit creek without a paddle. I pray those in control of my BTC now see my pleas for help and find it in their heart to send it back. Lessons learned include spreading out my BTC in multiple seeds, move my BTC before attempting to split a fork, and never plug a Ledger into a forked wallet with my BTC seeded in it. I’m open to other forms of OPSec criticism as I’m sure I could improve elsewhere.

I got into Bitcoin last year to rid myself of the Fiat Debt based slavery system. I suspect that’s why a lot of you are here. I’ve put off marriage and kids for the past ten years to do the responsible thing, work hard, and save.. Bitcoin came along and made a lot of sense for self sovereign control of my future. So I liquidated my retirement paying big penalties last year. All in BTC. Risky yes and I thought I had the risks handled. Obviously not. I need to improve.

It it utterly terrifying to be so beyond out of control of my destiny right now. A complete 180 from my headspace over the past year. At this point there’s got to be one person in this world that can help me. I am at their mercy. Please, I’m begging from my knees.

I was using the Electrum Wallets from Github. The BPrivate was from Github. I think the BDiamond was too. BTCD might have been from their site though. I’ll verify.

Cautionary Tale: I messed up. Big time. Please don’t pile on harder as I’m already sick to my stomach.

NEVER EXPOSE YOUR BTC KEYS/Seed to an forked wallet.

Two days ago, I attempted to split my BTC Diamond and BTC Private. I could not get it.

At some point, I exposed my Ledger Nano with my BTC on it, to each of their Electrum Wallets.

Last night, my wallet was emptied of ALL my BTC, 13+ coins.

Here is the transaction.

Transaction Identifier: d96a7dcd9775456e36938ed2cb84e9d0cac46fad14b8c95008ed77d08f9f8de6

Here’s a signed message so you know I HAD controller of the wallet.
I’m not scamming, just utterly sick to my stomach for losing 13+ BTC.

It appears that I have now lost my entire life savings. I’m not begging for a handout but rather attempting to warn anyone new to the space. I’m sick to my stomach with the loss and my only hope is to gain the attention of the culprit.

If you have any space in your heart, please return the BTC. I’d accept a fraction of what was stolen. Please don’t completely bankrupt me.
