Re: Is there any recovery for a misplaced seed phrase
by
Theoboy
on 24/04/2021, 08:56:57 UTC
I can't tell because I have not made use of the electrum wallet
But for all I know the 12 phrase is a means of recovery and if you lose it you should consider your wallet gone

As for the wallet I make use of (imtoken) you can recover the 12 phrase word but you will have to input your wallet password
But in the case of the imtoken if you lose the two(12 phrase words and password) consider the wallet gone; because imtoken does not support recovery of password. And I think no wallet support that either

Re: Request for Nigeria local board
by
Theoboy
on 25/03/2021, 21:46:25 UTC
If we take a trip down memory lane, there was a time Nigeria board was requested for on this forum, but due to one reasons or the other, we were not given local board. It would be as a result of some reasons, best known to theymos, but of which the reasons will be genuine.

CryptopreneurBrainboss created a local thread, Africa Bitcointalk Community Hangout., where some of us do have some discussions related to bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies and our country. Later, we noticed all of us there are Nigerians, we finally have to discuss about it, and CryptopreneurBrainboss changed it to Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout.. Two languages are accepted on the thread, English and Pidgin.

The thread surfaced to be for Nigerians and we are happy for that as the evolution of Nigeria local board on bitcointalk is dawning to become reality. That is why we are making a request for theymos to grant our request and give us Nigerians a local board.

There are many reasons we Nigerians need local board
1. Like the Brainboss exchange service, some new Nigerians may not know there is anything like that, but moving it to our local board will make it more easy to be seen and known. Not only Brainboss service, there will be some Nigerians that will like to provide service for people in Naira (the Nigeria fiat).

2. There was a day I wanted to convert litecoin to Naira, I have to call a member on this forum that did it for me, requesting such directly from our local baord would have been the best which will make such transactions transparent in case by making such offer on our local baord.

3. Our government just banned cryptocurrencies, but we know it is going to be legalized back, our local board is a place to easily find latest information that will be posted by our members about how to exchange Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies  to Naira during this hard time. The way we can still make trades in Bitcoin, in other cryptocurrencies and in naira will be easily discussed on our local board.

Nigerians have many active users on this forum, only what we need is for us to be given a local board, we active users are ready to develop the board. Please, we need support from other members about this to help us leave positive comments which are true about us Nigerians to convince theymos into giving us a local board.

Board requested for
1. Bitcoin discussion
2. Altcoin discussion
3. Off topics

January, 2021 overview of the local boards activity by Rikafip

I completely agree with the appeal for Nigerians to be given a local board not just because am one.
But as we here all know Nigeria is the giant of Africa and we are fast adopting the world's most popular cryptocurrency (Bitcoin). And with this we are setting a path for other African countries.
And having a local board will really help the New comers from Nigeria too, speaking in the language the really understand

Why is her wallet empty? What did she do wrong, and how can she correct the situation?

This no joke, had similar problem but I figured it out later and made a post about it some months back
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5309358.msg56092960#msg56092960

Why is her wallet empty?
Her wallet is empty because she made use of the wrong address, she decided to buy Bitcoin but instead she bought Bitcoin cash but made use of a Bitcoin wallet address.

She can correct this by importing her current wallet to another wallet that supports both BTC and BCH and when this is done she will see what she purchased

What happened here, and how did Tom lose his bitcoin?
What did he do wrong, and how should he have acted?

1. He decided to make use of the first result he saw without doing any research which lead him to a big problem encountering a scam.
2. He watched a video on YouTube and just decided to rush in to something he doesn't really have an insight on, That's wrong, he would have done at least a little research before going into that

I won't blame his reaction but it's his fault, but he should sit down and find out where he went wrong

Money wey someone no fit use buy used car in 10 years, that one no be money. Money wey no make someone dey employed no be money, money wey someone dey collect and still dey suffer, no be money. Naija lack industry, and the government no care about the sector, na why we dey poor. See how the world are growing faster, Naija dey lack behind, waiting I see for N-power na suffering thinking na joy.

If we come look into the matter well, organizations wey suppose get full time worker, na them N-power go fill in, e be like casual job to me, casual job plenty for underdeveloped country because no job dey available. N-power na trash if we check ham well.

Me sef no knw wetin to talk abt the kind country sef. Plenty of us sef don tire comot hand frm all this country stuff especially this N-power matter.
The issue of industry; As I been the listen to 9ja news this morning I hear say dem 1 renovate the refinery wey d port-harcourt and e go cost Dem $1.5 billion.
I jst d laugh after we go hear say dem go collect loan from anoda country na so 9ja go jst d borrow
My own b say make we jst the put this country for our prayers ohh because nw ehh this situation don pass us. Make we jst the pray make e no pass as e b already

If you choose to buy you can buy
But for the matter "safe" that has to deal with the way you think about it.
And you really need a good experience of you want to invest.
But know this
invest what you can afford to lose
And I mean all of it

Predicts $100k before end of the year
by

on 22/02/2021, 09:06:29 UTC
Skybridge capital founder(Anthony Scaramuc) predicts Bitcoin to hit another ATH  of $100k before the end of the year
His words in quote were
"I do think we see $100,000 in this coin before year-end … It’s just a supply and demand situation. You don’t have a lot of supply out there and very heavy demand"
And we know total Bitcoin available is 21 million where 78%(14.5 million) of the Bitcoin supply is not liquid leaving 22%(4.2 million) for buying and selling; Which will lead to the higher demand in Bitcoin and according to the skybridge founder low supply high demand keeps Bitcoin rising

Another scam using BTC
This is not the first and I don't think this will be the last. The last time this happened was on Twitter; Influncial guys account like Barack Obama
and othersTwitterr accounts were hacked for scam BTC giveaway where people will make a deposit and it will be doubled and now it has repeated again using another influencial person especially when it comes to cryptocurrencies.
I know some people will still go ahead to deposit and fall into the scam

Bitcoin is already accepted in so many parts of the world and soon to be adapted by all(I think so)
Even with the latest news that Elon musk bought over 1 billion dollars worth of BTC
And planing to accept bitcoin payment for his Tesla cars

That's the most horrible and ridiculous step taken by the Nigeria government trying to ban what they them selves don't understand it will be possible to stop banks from depositing money into exchanges but they forgot about p2p transactions which will now come to the aids of Nigerians

This news is now circulating in Nigeria, one of my sisters sent it to me, and in less than 2 hours time Gozie51 also sent me the news.

Even, if Nigeria will ban crypto deposit or crypto generally, it should be circulating all over the news and we will see it coming, not ad libitum. Nothing of such in my side. Or, what do you people think is going on? This seems more fake.

I checked punch recently and found it to be true.
https://punchng.com/cbn-orders-banks-to-close-crypto-currency-accounts/

We Don hear wetin u the talk but as things dey our country jst the talk am we no the hear ntin
We go continue with wetin we the do.
Small hope wey ppl the use hold body na wetin our govt 1 destroy
See as things dey so ehh crypto big pass our country, people wey dey bring out this rule no knw ntin abt cryptocurrency

And if may ask what's the main aim of crypto?
It's to enable peer-to-peer transactions ryt??
And since the are saying CBN no crypto
It's even enabling the main aim of cryptocurrencies

As I dey lyk this this news sef no the bother me
As far as say we fit still do peer-to-peer transactions am okk
