Q: I dont see any video on my HDMI monitor
A: Your monitor needs to be powered on and HDMI plugged into your Apollo BEFORE powering on your Apollo. The Apollo will not recognize your monitor if its powered on before the monitor or HDMI cable is plugged in. If this does not work double check your input on the monitor is in the correct HDMI port. Please be aware that not all monitors will work with the Apollo (odd sized monitors, really high resolution tvs etc).

I received my Apollo II. I connect to my monitor (I've tried 2 different ones now) made sure the monitor was on and connected properly. The Apollo II fan comes on and runs at very high speed indefinitely. I've let it run almost 20 minutes. No lights on the front of the Apollo. What next?

Fan control still needs work.
Got the alert from litecoinpool that the apollo had dropped off this morning. I could not get the the web front end, so I ignored it figuring on a crash.
The L3+ that is on the same power supply never dropped so I knew the power and internet were good.

Got in to work and fan was not spinning AND unit was about 1 billion degrees (give or take a bit) was actually hot enough to darken the thermal ink label on the controller.

Once it cooled down it seems to have come back no problem.
I now have the fan set to 25% instead of auto.

In the next revision can you have the fan fail to max speed in case of any issues?

What mode were you running in? Eco, Balanced or Turbo?

Apollo has been running flawlessly for 2 weeks now, but disconnected from the pool a couple of times.  Is it possible to set up a backup pool (failover)?

Yes, go to Pools in the left hand menu. Add info and hit the + sign. You can change the order with the arrows, top one is primary.

What is the status of balanced and turbo modes? Is it safe to run in those yet? I was hoping to throw more heat!!

I have the Apollo powered up and I am in the dashboard.  I am not connecting to the miner or to blocksfactory.  I have burned a new Apollo image that was successful, entered the username, password and address in the pool dashboard.  I have not added the proxy address.  Is this needed?  Here is the message I am getting in my dashboard.

It seems there is a problem to communicate with the miner, check error message.

Error: connect ECONNREFUSED 127.0.0.1:4028

That means bfgminer is not connecting to your pool...double check your pool info/username.

I have tried both litecoinpool and blocksfactory using cut and paste to enter usernames and passwords.  I can't get either to work.  I have logged out of the mining pools and used the same username and passwords (cut and paste that I used on the Apollo dashboard) and had success logging back in.  Do I need to enter the proxy address?

Update:  I changed the password to something very simple in the both mining pools and I am not getting the Apollo to connect.  I am not sure what I am doing wrong.  I was successful with my Moonlanders but this is not connecting.  I am connected via ethernet cable.

The Apollo is working thought because the donation is both active and the status is alive.   My main pool is active and the status is dead.

If donation pool is working then your definitely imputing something wrong in the url field probably. Delete the whole pool entry and put in a new one and make sure you are copy and pasting the whole stratum url correctly. Pool worker names/pass are case sensitive as well so you’ll fail authentication and get a “dead” pool.

I am using this address.  stratum+tcp://us.litecoinpool.org:3333  plus username and password.  My moonlanders are working on the same pools with same passwords.  I am not sure what else I can do?

Did you do this on the setup wizard? There is a bug that's not saving this info.

Make sure your going to the pool tab on the main side panel. Delete whatever is there and input a new entry using the pool info. You need to press the save button on the top of the screen. If that still does not work try rebooting the MCU.

Yes I did that in the setup wizard.  I have deleted all pools and started over several times and then hitting the yellow "save and restart" button which takes about 30 seconds to start over.  I have rebooted the Apollo and rebooted the modem separately.  Is there something like a factory restore for the Apollo?

Make sure it's not a capitalization issue. For some reason when I saved my username it removed the capitalization and that mattered.

your router should be able to assign different ip for both, check it is in dhcp mode

Thanks, it's in dhcp mode. I did get it to work after multiple reboots of all hardware involved but oddly my network map is only showing one. I can see they are both online and working at the moment I'll continue to monitor.

Thanks all for the help, here's an update....

After hours of trying and failing I gave up. Miners sat turned off for over 48 hours as I was out of town. Came home and powered one up and it worked. No idea why. Got the second one working too. I did nothing different. I'm stumped but happy they are working. At the moment I can only get one to run at a time as they're interfering with each other on the network. I'll work on that next.

As was mentioned a few times the wireless is still buggy from the driver if you are using wireless. I had one wired and one wireless but they were still stepping on each other. Now I have them both hard wired to ethernet and so far working great.

Is there any way to disable the wireless all together? It appears to me part of the issue with wireless is it has the same MAC address as the hard wired. I'm not positive but I thought these considered different as far as MAC addressees go?

I'm using a wired connection only. I haven't tried wireless yet. I haven't been able to get both working at the same time though.

I've been unable to get the apollo to boot. I ran a checksum on the image I downloaded and it doesn't match. I've re-downloaded twice and neither matches. Anyone have advice? I'm using a windows 10 pc and downloaded using both chrome and edge.

If it’s flashing yellow it’s working fine. What are you using to run the checksum?

Yellow flashing means it’s booting and not getting a network connection. You have it plugged in via Ethernet and ran an ip finder on your network?

Thanks for the response.

I ran the checksum with command prompt, yes it's plugged in via Ethernet but it's not being assigned an IP by my network. Anything else I plug into the ethernet is immediately assigned an IP.
Did you hash check the IMG or the ZIP of the IMG?

I figured out what I was doing wrong with checksum, I was using MD5 instead of SHA256. The checksum on the IMG matches. I've tried to create an ISO on the micro SD using Etcher but it doesn't seem to be working. I've tried on a sandisk 8gb and a Kingston 16gb with no luck. There doesn't seem to be any settings in Etcher to change. I read that I have to make sure the image is on the whole disk not sure how to do that.

Thank you all for the help. I'll order the jumper. For now I'm just using my old pc. Now I'm working on getting it to boot, I'm guessing I'm not flashing the image properly as when I power up it just flashes yellow. Going to try a different brand of SD card.

I have a brand new Seasonic Prime Platnum 650w PSU. I'm getting no power to the Apollo. I tested the PSU on an old computer and it powered it.
The PSU has PCI-E cables with 6 pins then 2 separate pins, I plugged the 6 pins in and the 2 are just dangling. Do I need a different cable?

UPDATE: it seems the Apollo doesn't draw any power to start, so the PSU doesn't supply any. I tricked the PSU into supplying power by connecting it to another device, started it up and it's providing power to the Apollo. If I shut off the other device (old computer) the PSU cut's power to the Apollo too though.

Is this normal?
