Would ask that question in the vericoin chat channel, might get some help.

Nope, no response.  However it looks as if my coin was in PoS mode at the time of the blockchain stoppage and was awating full confirmation at the time, it had had 29 responses before the blockchain stopped updating on 1.3.1.

I will leave it running a while and see if it corrects itself.

Anyone know where the coins actually go when in PoS mode?

It could have gone anywhere?

Oh, I hope that they aren't now stuck in the other blockchain now before they rolled it back.

Wonder how many other people this happened to.

Might not have got any response in the chatroom as the Devs are probably asleep, probably been up half the night sorting things out.
Fingers Crossed for you

Ian

Thanks Ian, Following PM

Now, here's the thing!

I copied the wallet,
completely removed Vericoin inc all stuff in Appdata/roaming,
reinstalled 1.3.3,
got the blockhain completely up to date,
swapped wallets.

Now the wallet shows all transactions before change, plus one marked as conflicting after change (correct)

But all the coin transactions pre change are greyed-out and there is zero total in the wallet!

Crypto-ID shows the correct balance for the wallet address, but the Vericoin wallet itself shows ZERO??

Thoughts anyone?

Ah OK, teaching people to suck eggs and all that, sorry.

Just taken a peak at MoneySaving Expert.com -- long discussion largely negative and backing up your position but one guy says:

"I have 3 linked accounts with Citibank, in euros, sterling, and US dollars.  No fees and no exchange loading."

Might be worth investigating.

As I understand it you need to make a SEPA payment.

When you withdraw $ it goes to a European Bank who change it to EUROs at the market rate and it is sent to your bank as EUROs and they again change it to £s at the market rate.  It is pretty quick and painless but some UK banks (e.g. NAT WEST) stick an extra fee on top for the EURO exchange - greedy bastards!

What happens going the other way I don't know but I suspect you can't send £s but have to buy EUROs and send them to Bitstamp's Bank, they convert them to $s free of charge.  They don't mention a commission.  I have not attempted this but check with your bank on how to make a SEPA payment.

This is probably the cheapest way, any other sort of international bank transfers are a rip off.

You are, however, subject to normal currency exchange rates.

Extracting funds only (never have deposited anything)

I have used intersango a couple of years ago but they are now useless.

MTGOX too slow with Euro but quicker (at cost via OKPAY)

Virwox & SLL very messy but will do at a pinch.

Bitstamp is FAST on SEPA and although their fee structure seems peculiar, I feel less ripped off than with all the aforementioned.

They are getting worse!  My last two SEPA withdrawals in April around the height of the shenanigans took about 3 weeks and 3.5 weeks respectively.

BITSTAMP did SEPA in about 5 working days.  You don't even need Euros, just point dollars at the account and it works.

Correction, traded BTC for $ on Monday night, GBP in Bank by Thursday night!!  =72 hours!

Re: Mt.Gox SEPA withdrawals

....there are lots of share and ForEX trading sites who have been doing what Gox is failing to do for many years now, and with far better security and far lower fees. All we need is one to get on board and if they do a competent job they will win most market share in a very short time.

Peer2peer trading will always be conceptually better if anyone could get that to work.

That's a different matter.  There are two practical problems - one is volume of trade: low fees come from  having a big turnover - the second is the banks who are trying as hard as possible to block btc by not dealing with the exchange companies.  There is no UK or US bank so far as I can see that deals with them.

That's why SEPA is so important for UK bitcoin because the UK banks can't stop a SEPA payment and have to convert EUR to GBP. Even then some of the scumbags like Nat West put an additional fee on top of any exchange commission when euros are sent to your account. (For every foreign transaction not just bitcoin related)

In short I don't think expertise is the sole problem.

....Also all the high fees are not within the trading section  (apart from the loony tunes maker/taker crap) but the transitions and intermediaries.

Yay 10:50 UTC marked as "processed" so the Poles have got it, now how fast is SEPA itself?

Raised a ticket and got the same standard message... but now my withdrawal says pending.  Last time "pending" became "processed" in less than a day but it's a weekend now.  Not holding my breath!

As for Coinlab that was just hot air.  The muppets were claiming for "Beach[sic] of duty". If they can't spell a crucial word in a legal document would you trust your money to them???!!!  They seem like a bunch of chancers on the bandwagon and I doubt they will be any more efficient at running the business.

Now 23 days, 15 working days since my withdrawal on the 10th of April was confirmed!!!

No change to pending, yet alone processed.

They are getting worse rather than better.

Stuff the theories they should get on with things.  I have now had to raise a support ticket for two out of three withdrawals!  That should not be necessary on any planet.  MtGox will be commercially doomed if they don't fix this.

I shall revert to my old route for turning btc to cash, slightly more involved but more trustworthy.

They are getting slower, still no movement on my order from the 10th but since they have taken a week from dealing with an order on the 6th to dealing with the 7th, not surprising.

Don't know why there should be a problem the accounts have to be verified anyway.  Is it the Polish bank hanging onto the cash?

on a brighter note, my last withdrawal got through after just 15 days Cool
requested it on 4 april, got through on 19 april.

Aha, progress:
Set withdrawal up on 6th, confirmed almost immediately
Changed to Pending on 22nd
Changed to processed on 23rd.
No sign yet at Bank

....and the readies arrived today (23rd) just before 9:00am !!

17 days and 11/12 working days, not too bad I suppose considering the upheavils.  Eagerly awaiting the withdrawal from the 10th now.
