Re: BITCOIN = POKEMON

So with a cable, before infrared, before Bluetooth, before anything, you exchanged encrypted data, data that had a specific value in the game. Encrypted data, with a cable..

Pokemon was not cryptographically secure, during transfer they use simple pseudo-random values[1] and serial data transfer not exactly an encryption.  Besides pokemon games can be easily duped, spoof[2] and the pokemon can easily duplicate with a right tool unlike blockchain tech which is immutable.

I don't know how creative @OP is creating a parallel between Pokemon and Bitcoin but sadly it has no solid ground.

Re: Gambling not trust worthy
by

One of the things that I have seen that people should not trust is gambling because gambling is one thing that has done more harm than good by my assessment because looking at the winning percentage compared to those who lose it's worth not it because the winning percentage is two over hundreds which is charactarized by luck and chance so the next time you think about gambling know that you are going against thousands of people who are also looking for a way that they can get lucky in trying to win just like you so please gambling is not worth it don't kill yourself anymore trying to win anymore.

Well, an intelligent person will not trust his wealth to grow by gambling.  Just gambling for fun, like when we are into watching movies, hiking or partying.  Don't be complacent because you seem not affected by the "gambling charm"  and always stay on guard on our mental and emotional health, things with gambling goes haywire when we least expected. Oh just make sure to apply wise bankroll management, always guard our bankroll because we never know when we get careless and let gambling took our hard earned money away!

Re: The main thing is to stop in time.
by

“The main thing is to stop in time”? Obviously, the second. And if you are not an addicted player, you can be in profit with the help of this simple trick.
I know that many gamblers apply this rule to a one-time win as well.

Players actually know when to stop but the difficulty of control themselves is the cause.
It seems like what happened to me 2 days ago, managed to make a few tens of dollars from freebet, and decided to play casino games, had managed to get profit and the mind had said stop but ignored and continued to play so that in the end lost everything but it didn't matter because of the results of freebet, so stopping on time is what players know but it is difficult to do because of greed and other things.

Gamblers have the feeling to stop when he is winning but mostly greed overcome this feeling and continue his gambling activity until his bankroll is empty.  I read several replies on how they think they should stop but because they are aiming for more, they end up chasing the profit and eventually lose them all.

It is really important to take notice of our guts that we need to stop and pocket the winnings.  For me it is better to stop and play another time than risking it all just to increase our winnings.

Re: Germany seized 38 million dollars from bybut hack.

If Bybit can prove that the money that was recovered was part of the $1.4 billion that was hacked on Feb. 21, 2025, the exchange should be entitled to the funds.
How can it be proved when the scammers have successfully made use of the exchange. Why not arrest OKX and others also? They all should be arrested because the scammers also successfully make use of their exchanges. Read what I posted above.

They cannot arrest or sanction any exchanges without proper evidence and court order.  They should be investigated yes but if these exchanges voluntarily cooperate with the investigation and is helpful with the case, aside from proving to be not in cahoots with the hacker then they should not be arrested nor be involved with the case.  The one who should be arrested is the one involve in the hack.  It would be unfair for the exchange to be arrested because one of their client is involved in criminal activities despite of the exchange cooperation with the authority.

Sometimes a reminder is a medicine to those who forget.  I see this as a reminder to not haste buying Bitcoin when it is at its peak.  This countdown reminds me that after this bull run where prices is at its premium will come a time when Bitcoin will be selling at a discount again.  So this early halving reminder tells me to have patience and wait for the opportunity of Buying BTC at a discount when Bitcoin transition to bear market.

There is no such thing that gives you a passive income while still holding your fund @OP.  Bitcoin is not design to give dividend or something like income from staking unless you join a program where you need to send your BTC to stake.

The thing the holder of BTC get  is the unrealized gain or losses due to market fluctuation, other than that there is nothing else.

Re: How Do We Encourage More Women To Embrace Cryptocurrency.
by

on 02/05/2025, 16:57:12 UTC

Note: I am aware there are women in the crypto space. I am not arguing that, am talking about women out there who see this as rocket science, get rich quick scheme or outright scam.

Is not this applicable to men too?  There are also men who see cryptocurrency as a rocket science.  Most of my friends are to name a few.  I wonder why do we have to pin point a gender when everyone should be treated equal and no women is less than men.  When it comes to knowledge and skills, each of us have different field of specialty.  It would be so biased to tell a fish to climb a tree and treat him as dumb if he could not.

Making the story short, this should be meant for everyone, the more people engaging in Bitcoin regardless of gender, the stronger it is.

Re: Fun fact: Cryptocurrencies are not Assets, but Activity Logs

I do not know how to put it, but if we remove anything that happen behind those activity logs, then all things is an activity log.  Same goes with the history I guess, the medical records, the bank transaction records, the employee records, and everything that people do and put on records... they are all just an activity log.

Re: Say no to maximalism
by

on 11/08/2024, 15:02:51 UTC
Why?

These guys are the reason why Bitcoin has been thriving and growing. They never said anything bad about Bitcoin but they did infor everyone that apart from Bitcoin nothing can survive that long. They were the one who made Bitcoin a global essential commodity. These are the guys which make Bitcon what it is meant to be and they are right about it.

These Maximalist will not say anything bad about Bitcoin but for them everything outside Bitcoin is not good.  I tend to believe that these people think that you will lose your life if you patronize other cryptocurrency.  I agree that they are part of people who push Bitcoin to become essential commodity but due to their belief that other than Bitcoin any cryptocurrency is inferior, they tend to neglect a possible development with the help of altcoin technology.

Quote
The problem here is that we guys don't have the capacity to buy a full 1BTC and to get it fast we use the altcoins route. Which according to my understanding is the fastest way to get to that point rather than accumulating more every moth or week with the hard earned fiat.

I do not think that this is an issue if we talk about Bitcoin maximalism.  It is the state of mind of people not the state of their pocket.

For the sake of cryptocurrency enlightenment @OP:

The first cryptocurrency blockchain was discovered in 2008 by Satoshi Nakamoto

Cryptocurrency is not discovered it is created

The first cryptocurrency is not created in 2008 but rather it was created way back 1990 by David Chaums company Digicash, it is called eCash

Bitcoin which is created by Satoshi Nakamoto  is the first decentralized cryptocurrency but not the first cryptocurrency ever created.

Another factor is the mind set of rich people and poor people.  They have different mind set that resulted in different outcome.  Rich people mindset is to make their expenses as investment and since they have money to spend, they often create a business that is connected with their hobby or interest and get profit from it.  While poor people's mindset is to spend money to satisfy their interests.

Re: Let them make the choice of bitcoin
by
bitcoindusts
on 09/03/2023, 23:05:16 UTC
Convincing people to invest in bitcoin means to force them to invest without having any interest to invest. Instead of convincing people to invest in bitcoin,  it is better to teach them bitcoin and the reason why bitcoin is important in this modern aga. In making people to have understand bitcoin it will make them to develop interest in learning bitcoin more and if they eventually take decision to invest they will not hold anyone responsible for their lost like when they are forced to invest.

There is a fine line of convincing and forcing them to invest.  This two action is not similar. Convincing them is "to make them believe that something is true" while forcing them is coercing them.  There is a huge difference from convincing and forcing since forcing use power which what coercing is about.  So it is not right to say that convincing them is to force them to invest even without interest.  Convincing is like to make them have interest.

Re: How was Bitcoin mining done in the early days?
by
bitcoindusts
on 16/02/2023, 23:40:00 UTC
Bitcoin mining was first done with CPU, then it improves and done via GPU.  After some years, ASIC had been introduced and now it is mainly the miners used since GPU and CPU hash power is obsolete to compete against ASIC miners.  There is also some point in early years that botneck is used to mine Bitcoin.  This is a person injecting malware to several private computers in order to mine Bitcoin for him.

Re: Bitcoin could hit $10M in 9 years but more sidechains needed: Blockstream CEO
by
bitcoindusts
on 13/02/2023, 11:13:06 UTC
I think the title is exaggerated.  No matter how many sidechain is created on Bitcoin, it won't reach that price in just a matter of 9 years.  I am always open to the possibilities but we should also look at the target timeframe.  In 9 years time, I doubt Bitcoin will be adopted by develop countries because Bitcoin has a feature that is the main issue why majority of the countries are not accepting it as legal tender.

It is the decentralization that prevents government to control it completely.  I would say $1M  bitcoin is still vague to happen even after 9 years what more $10m.
