I think everyone who has had these problems with AsicSpace should get together.
I have 15 miners there. 1 S9 got 'toasty' and failed, per one of Robert's scarce text messages. I've tried to arrange to get it back so I can get it fixed or at least tinker with it myself, but no luck. It doesn't seem anyone is ever at the facility.
Four days ago all but one of my miners went strange. They mined intermittently, failing over to the last choice pool, with ridiculous rejection rates (As high as 80%). Now only 4 show up at all, with hash rates in the 200 GH range. Numerous texts have been ignored. Yesterday he texted me 'someone will be there Wednesday'. Well, it's Wednesday at 5 pm and there is no change. Here's BTC at $840 and the majority of my hashpower is out for the count. 70 TH/s is down to about 6 TH/s.

Update: It turns out that a switch failed, and it took 5 days to get a new one due to winter storms delaying shipment.
Seems to be a strong argument that they should keep spares in stock...
Also it doesn't explain why the customer service is so crappy. If they just said on Day 1 that they had a bad switch and needed to send for a new one it would have been a lot better.
I shouldn't have to badger them to find out what's going on. A proactive message to those affected would help a lot in building confidence in this business. Honestly I don't think they care.

What is the advantage of a larger pool? If payout is distributed among pool members it seems to me that the individual payout would roughly stay the same. Then again I'm not a pool or payout expert.
This becomes a game of statistics. You want a larger pool as it would decrease our variance or inconsistency of blocks. I believe when I was talking to Kano, he said our pool size needs to be 5% of the total bitcoin hash rate to bring it statistically within the parameters that would eliminate the long periods of time that we go without finding a block. Another way of looking at it, is right now if you plotted our blocks on a chart you would have huge spikes and then nothing (for the hours we wait in between) for a time another spike and so on. At 5% we would have a more consistent smooth line. Yes we would all sacrifice rewards per block, but make up for it in multiple blocks per day. In the end of the day, you would make as much or more with a larger pool. Right now to hit 5% I believe we need to be around 220 PH and that is a moving target as the network grows.

Just noticed we are at 63.2PH 64.4PH !! The only reason I noticed was that my block % is way down. Gotta take the good with the bad!

Well yesterdays reward didn't suck, but then again we don't complain about any block that is found.

You are really scaling up and it's great to see you supporting the pool.
If you don't mind me asking, where's your hash heading, do you have a hash target or just as much as possible? I'd hate to have your electricity bill, then again the mining reward would be sweet.
Our power bill does't scare us at all. Bitcoin is a business plan and that consists of finding the right location and energy prices which we have done both. Currently we have taken on the largest transformer(2500KVA) that our power company will give a customer. To get more power we would have to have another 2500KVA installed or have a substation built. Both of those options are on the table at the moment. We are in one of the top 3 cheapest states for power(no not Washington which is #1, but this is also in the talks for future growth)
To the strategic growth, That is something I am not able to share on the forums at this time. As far as the Kano members are concerned you will just see us adding to our hashrate as time goes on. Thanks for the question.

In the top right corner, what does the first number in the two numbers for Hash Rate mean?
For example 46.54 / 44.50
The first is always higher, usually a larger amount than I should have, and the right I assume is my accepted rate pool side.

I believe the first number is your 5 minute hash rate and the second number is your 1 hour hash rate.

@Kano, have you considered signalling segwit in order to push it closer to activation? With SegWit activated your pool will be able to include more transactions per block which obviously translates to more fees for your miners. Right now the 1mb limit is forcing you to forfeit transactions to the next miner because you can only include 1mb per block you find atm.

No offense but you really do not understand Segwits at all. In fact Segwits will do the exact opposite of what you just described. All segwits does is softfork the bitcoin blockchain to allow developers such as the lightnting network to create and entire offchain psuedo validation service so people can use bitcoin without actually having their transaction validated on chain. Yup you heard it right, your transaction would be in what is best described as an off chain time lock that the lightning network would then conduct as many transactions as possible (keeping all the fees to themselves) and at the end of the timelock they would get the entire blob of transactions validated on the blockchain as a single transaction with just the 1 fee going back to the miners.
Don't let the news or Segwits propaganda sites tell you how it works. Actually did in to the facts and read about it. It is a horrible solution and one that could fuck bitcoin up big time once you once you open that hole start to let developers into the blockchain. Bad idea.

Kano does not say much about segwit as this thread suffered a lot of spam a while back due to pro segwit people angry that kana spoke against it.

@ Jigor finding your best freq will give you good stable hash you will know you got the right freq when your hard ware errors go to .0050 or less
To sum it up Segwits, is it is not about the miners at all. It is about turning bitcoin transactions and confirmations into Third Party Programs that have no business even talking about our currency. Yes, I say ours because every miner has dumped a significant amount of money to become part of a great peer to peer network. They pay for their miner, their power bill, their internet bill to support the greatest thing to happen to currency with minimal returns up front. I am constantly amazed when I read the ridiculous articles online and then you get the comments believing that if we adopted segwits the block size automatically increases. HUH?? Some people you just cannot explain it too no matter how much you try. Does our block size need to increase? Yes, but Segwits is not even an option for increasing block size, it is off chain mining, I repeat off chain mining or in an other term it is a way for greedy developers to profit from bitcoin off the back off the miners while preaching to the masses bitcoin is not about the miners. Plus opening a hole in the code that allows for developers who never owned a miner in their life to come in and start making money on our currency using our blockchain. There are so many things wrong with it.

Thank You!! I actually miss my video days, but it did open up an incredible opportunity for me. I am part of a much larger company building something that I could only dream about when I was running solo. I am hoping to bring back videos at some point to show what we have done.
I have always mined with Kano and chatted with him a few times on IRC. I have now had the privilege of meeting him in the flesh and spending a deal of time with him. He is an amazing mind when it comes to code and bitcoin mining. Not to mention just a great person. Again I hold our discussions in confidence, but if you knew just who was using his code to run their mining pools you would be very surprised. However it is not just the code it is the person running the pool and implementing the code that makes our pool faster than any other pool in the bitcoin universe and I am not just saying that.
I mentioned earlier in a post that people who are mining here need to trust me and stay here. I have gained an insight to bitcoin mining and the way the Kano has created he network of nodes is truly genius. To the average miner including myself Kano used to just be a URL that I pointed my miners to, but now I wouldn't move them if you paid me.
We have found a lot of blocks on the pool, and I attribute some of that to some major network changes that we added prior to our recent ramp up and the other part is just simply the pool itself.

FWIW, I've got 1+PH coming online in June. Won't rival the big players here, but another little bump in hashrate for the pool.

For all of those who are mining here, do not leave. As I mentioned in a previous post this is fastest and most advanced mining pool from a technical standpoint. It is also bitcoins best kept secret as most miners go for the big pools that are in China (big mistake). Not only are the fees higher, they do not share transaction fees like Kano does. However there is something else unique about this pool that I am unable to share. With that being said, do not leave ever. The grass is not going to ever be greener than it is here. Ride out the bad months and reap the good months. Good Luck and Mine on!!!

Considering that as the pool grows, rewards will become quantity, not quality. On that note, you are in the best place to mine anywhere in the bitcoin universe. We have mined in several other places and I can assure you that bitcoin is lucky to have someone like Kano on the pool development side. Having to get know Kano a bit better, I can assure you that you are in the best hands available. If we are willing to put our 6+ PH and quickly growing hashing power in his pool, you can rest assure that going anywhere else would be silly. Just my 2 cents. Mine on!!!

Great work on your pool. I for one cannot wait to see your pool hit the multi hundred PH range that is not in China. Not only that, where else will you find a pool as transparent, shares the transaction fees (the big five keep the transaction fees for themselves) and only charges .09% on the pool maintenance fee. We need more pools like yours to offset the ridiculous bitcoin mining foot print that is being held by just one Country.

canaan avalon 741 actual load
So I am trying to justify moving completely away from bitmains S9's and into canaan avalon 741. Yet power is everything in this game. I need numbers. An Avalon 741 is rated at 1150 watts for 7.3TH where an S9 is rated at around 1300W for 13.5Th. Can someone tell me what the 741 is really pulling. It takes 2 741's to get the hashing power 14.6 TH, but now you are at 2300W. That is crazy, 1000 watts more to get the same damn hashing rate as bitmain, really? I am not looking for cheerleaders on either side but rather the facts that can be backed up.

Yes that is a higher W for 14THs - I'm not hiding anything, it was clearly stated
