Board Mining

seems like the only miners you can run at home are more of a toy then something you can make any real money with

The Sidehack USB sticks are a nice choice or possibly an old S3 those weren't to noisy. Everything from bitmain after that was way to noisy and draws to much to run on any normal home 110V electrical outlets
Problem is, for most, electricity costs make mining at home not worth it.
The only remaining reasons to mine at home would be to get bitcoins (at higher cost than from an exchange), or for the sake of mining, like a hobby for which you don't mind spending money without financial return.

[The only way BitCoin will stabilize at $500 is through manipulation.  It was near stable at around $275
You're assuming that USD is a solid reference, here. You could not be more wrong.

KNCMiner have announced they will start mining bitcoin classic blocks
Is KnCMiner done with all the lawsuits against them yet ? They might want to focus on actually delivering the hardware they sell, or properly compensating the customers who invested and got nothing, before drumming their support for some fork.

Looks like that 4.5 BTC was 100% funneled into a wallet that has had over 19k BTC pass through, and is sitting with 4,200 BTC in it.  Odd.

Not odd, the wallet you're referring to is BitPay. Every BitPay account is linked to it.

Hi guys,
My shares rewarded is 76.83%.. Thats very low..
Does my miner have troubles or the pool??
http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/17drDa6aL9QXBdmPMUfB6Boryk3NkQqNfm

Can anyone give me an answer please??
Apparently you've just started to mine on the pool, and you're starting in the middle of a bad luck period. Just wait it out, variance should bring back luck to better levels soon.

last night's DDoS attack
By any chance, could there be some relation with the test servers you had recently set up ? Could their IPs have been nearby the IPs of the main servers, therefore giving some direction for location to the vandals ?

The test servers would still be behind Eligius's normal DDoS protection, just on alternate ports.  I also hadn't provided info on them to anyone yet.
Is there a recently joined worker or set of workers which stopped mining just at about the time the saturation attempt began ?

Eligius pays nmc? I do not receive any nmc.
Thank you
NMC payout is manual and happens every few weeks. That's not much anyway, so don't hold your breath.

Apologies for the brief instability.  I was updating the pool servers for V4 blocks and it looks like some miners were still ending up reconnecting to the remaining V3 servers while I was doing the change over and got booted a few times instead of just one reconnect while I did the updates.

All is well now and Eligius is mining V4 blocks.
The first Eligius v4 block came out, #385974 .
Brillant !  Cheesy

However that 91.4-91.6% luck absolutely does not describe a miner that has had a stable hashrate and been mining continuously for a year on this pool.

my hashrate has varied a bit here

Well, this is a bit self-contradictory...

Unimportant on the Web frontend, the pool works normally.

Oh, looks like we got another ransom note. lol.

Ticket #563920
User:    181mxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Email:   jessicawise2358@gmail.com
"Your site will be undergoing DDos attacks today. If we do not receive payments of 2 BTC to this address:  181mxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx we will not be able to stop this attack. When the payments are received the attack will instantly stop."

Oh well.  I wonder if these people will ever realize that Eligius is a zero fee pool that basically has no income, run by volunteers and donated hosting?  Guess that's just wishful thinking.

Carry on.
Let them waste their resources on a pointless attack which will merely make them more visible as time passes...

Wow, took 2 hours to take effect. That was a big hurdle to overcome.  Wink

Eligius blocks are generally much "cleaner" than others, as spam transactions are filtered out.
