Re: 256 bit encryption cracked ... does it affect Bitcoin security?

http://www.crownsterling.io/2019/09/crown-sterling-decrypts-rsa-asymmetric-public-keys-in-live-demonstration/

I am not a tech person, so I’m curious what all this means? Are they able crack a pgp message? Or simply connect to public key to the private key? Or what is this? Also, how might if at all it affect Bitcoin private keys?

TIA

Nice job Salty.  I know how difficult and stressful what you're attempting to do can be.  Glad to see you're sticking with it!

Hi,

We provide active Bitcointalk forum members with Promo Code for the free Cryptopay card. I think it will be perfect in your case, but please be informed that our cards don't support 3d secure.
Can you elaborate on specifically what item you're calling the free cryptopay card (please excuse my ignorance if it's obvious but I'd like to be sure), is it the virtual visa or something else? Does the lack of 3d secure have any implication on which stores support it (looking at this one in particular https://www.vive.com/uk/ )

Hi,

I'd like to get a promo code to virtual card...

Thanks.

Hi,

I regret to inform you that you need to be an active member with the activity score higher than 30 on bitcointalk to get a promo code.

What sort of promo are you doing? I'm looking at cashing out a mined coin with the least hassle and possibilities for buyer-fraud, to purchase a VIVE set as an xmas gift to myself Wink, your cryptopay seems to keep popping up. I've personally no real objections to verification I'm satisfied that you guys look legit - do you think your virtual debit cards sound like a good fit (don't see the need for a physical one considering the additional cost)?

http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com has been scrubbed from the wayback machine (https://web.archive.org). Everything after 27 June 2013 is gone now.
How is this possible?

Code:
Loading...

http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/ | 11:12:03 Feb 1, 2014
Got an HTTP 302 response at crawl time
Redirecting to...
http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/

edit:
Hmm, it looks like some pages are still available if you know the exact URL.

You got my hopes up that this disgrace had finally had gone for a minute, but yeah, google last indexed it the same day you posted and it was fully available too. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:eF4PNrVTEJ0J:www.blackarrowsoftware.com/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk&client=firefox-b

It seems to be dropping packets for fun, with very erratic loading success.

No, I would not. I might accept a small portion by way of speculation, but there's no way I could take the gamble, no just on the exchange rate, but the whole trustless platform as an outright replacement for all of my current expenses, purchases and obligations.

The management of Black Arrow needs to be held responsible for defrauding their customers of millions of dollars.
True. But unfortunately it looks like it wont happen. You've got to hand it to him as a well-played scam, deftly avoiding any responsibility.

Looks like steam is finally going to accept bitcoin!!!!

http://cointelegraph.com/news/steam-to-accept-payments-via-bitcoin-in-its-next-update

Curious if that will affect the people selling games on the bitcoin talk? And the various other websites you can buy steam at.
Smiley While it will definitely help break down geographical payment boundaries and the associated issues, it definitely won't affect the third-party sales market because generally the prices are so much more competitive (once case where geographical pricing actually works in favour of the guys willing to take a educated gamble in where they source their keys from)

...BA was about the worst of them all.  Tons of promises made that they didn't intend to keep with the lack of talent needed to actually make a working device.  Greed thrown in there somewhere as well didn't help.  This was basically an organization of thieves, liars, and scammers with the main goal to hurt hard working people and enrich themselves.  Just horrible horrible people in this world.

Indeed, Black Arrow were Professionally incompetent and inept if not dangerously negligent looking at the reports of fire.

You'll have to ask him directly. He's already got the design files, said he'd run out a small test batch (on the order of 10 units) to test out before doing a full run. The full run, then, could be a month out.

PM Sent. If I don't hear back I might try and grab one of yours in the mean time, to help support the cause etc Wink

So, novak@gekkoscience and I built a stick miner. We call it the GekkoScience Compac.

Currently I have four regions of the world being covered by an official local reseller of some kind. The goal here is to get sticks to customers in a more affordable way.
- AJRGale is selling for Australia
- valkir is selling for Canada
- chiguireitor is selling in Venezuela
- MacEntyre of bitshopper.de is manufacturing and selling in Europe

If you live in any of these locations, I'd prefer you hit up those guys for sales. Bitshopper.de has contracted to manufacture their own batch of sticks for sale in Europe, so I'd prefer you talk to him about sales, but if you really really want one of my sticks instead of (or better yet, in addition to) one of his, I can probably send one or two without hurting his feelings.

If you're interested in bulk purchasing for a country or region not already covered, let me know soon and we can work something out.

Love the true hacker quality and transparency of your project. I sold my other gear off last summer, but this will tempt me back to be a little drop in the pool. Any idea when Bitshopper are going to be listing your project, I can't seem to find it on his site?

black arrow software have scammed us all and left us as victims of their total lack of professionalism and incompetence. I would like to see someone try and follow the chain of the payments made in bitcoin that mysterious only moved once we asked if the HKIR knew about them, they were interested in those. I highly doubt they were actually stolen.

Black Arrow = Massive Scam. Plus, negligent and incompetent and basic electrical engineering.

I cannot understand these continuing attempts to censor discussion and erase the total black arrow failure. The blackarrow censorship bot appears to have gone back and deleted all posts by victims they've shitlisted since the beginning of time, blindly, regardless of content and contribution. Including some where I supported the early delays and shipping time lies. Failure to engage brain, surely.

blackarrow is trying to be aloof and superior and quoting from ToS, but as part of the black arrow scam he's deleting the replies that quote from his own promised terms which he used to secure orders and payments on this forum, so here's a copy of my reply for posterity:

11.3 The Purchaser understands and agrees that we will use his payment in order to purchase the necessary materials or pay workmanship required to fulfill his pre-order which will be non-refundable if cancelled. For this reason, the purchaser hereby gives us the right and agrees with our decision to decline any requests from him or third parties to cancel his pre-order.

While you're playing the quoting game, how about you look at your own written promises that purchases were made based upon:
  •    "What we are trying to say is:
-...This is our promise. If products from competition will have ROI in February than our products will have as well."
  • "At the same time we promise that our prices will be below market price at the time we ship. "
  • "Bottom line is, whoever trusts us now, we promise that will help them to mine profitably after February as well."
