What's  the point though , you will end up paying more as fee so What's  the point ? Do you have any reason to move a dust ?
Freeze it instead and save yourself from the stress.

Re: Need some help with setting up a cold storage

i too have an old 32 bit pc and i run bodhi linux on it but i do not use it for cold storage because more of then not u run into problems

Bodhi  it is, will research and try it out . My PC is still having the windows on it, I barely go out but anytime I go out again,I   will make sure to get some new component like the fan(the fan Is kind of weak too) and the hard drive to install the new OS on.

Once you decided on your OS and wallet, you could try to install it but will likely encounter issues with the wallet's dependencies.
You may try to post a new topic in the specific wallet's board or in the Linux Distros' forum if you encounter an issue. (you will)
Okay noted that, someone suggested bodhi, I also saw puppy Linux online , I don't know how they will work  but once I tried them I will get back to whatever wallet installed.

Tails would be the best one for cold storage but the problem is latest version of Tails OS doesn't support 32-bit, but you can try the older version. I heard that the last version that supports 32-bit-based systems is Tails 3.0.

Tbh, I would have preferred Tails, but I don't know how everything will turn out using software on it. I'll still give it a try, but if I notice it won't be convenient having a cold storage setup on a 32-bit PC, then I will just forget about it. I do have another cold storage, but it's worth trying (the setup).

I personally wouldnt recommend it. this architecture is no longer supported by most modern software, so it could potentially be insecure.

The purpose of cold storage is to eliminate risk, not just reduce it. By using an ancient, unsupported computer, you are introducing a whole new set of risks. Why dont you just buy a hardware wallet?  They are cheap, require a lot less effort, and provide much better security for your funds.
Appreciate  your  thoughts.
I do have a cold storage already,  I just felt like doing something with the old PC since it's  just sitting  at home doing nothing..

  • The PC is running on an open source software Linux or Tails in my own opinion you can go with any depending on the one you prefer.
  • The wallet software you are going to be using must be open source and verified during your installation process.
  • That computer must not have any connection to the internet (you can achieve this by getting rid of all network drivers or preferably detach the networking components on the board (won't be necessary if you're just testing)

Read through this thread;
Does this still count?
It should walk you through the process.
Thanks for the link, the list were part of my consideration too but the only problem I'm  having  is that it's  a 32-bit PC and might required some dedicated and specific OS (preferably Linux distros) with a dedicated software too. It's not like the current x86_64 PCs

I have an old PC but it is  32 bit currently running on windows 7, it's been a while I use it but I felt like just setting up another cold storage on it.
I will be changing the hard drive  to a new one but I'm  not sure which  Linux distro and the self custody wallet that works on x86 Pcs or it doesn't  matter?.

I don't think turning it on have anything to do with tracking and privacy. if you want privacy, depending on what aspect of privacy though  all you need is taking care of how you connect to the outer world(most especially  internet) .
when it comes to tracking, you can only make it hard to do  by getting  a burner phone and sim  to make calls and contact people [you could use it to get privacy too, burner laptops  are no exception  ] but that depends on who you're contacting as it could give up a tip and depending on timing , your location can still be traced..There's  just alot about it  but as long you're not running from something/someone you shouldn't  worry about it that much just take the normal measures yo achieving privacy and you will be fine.

This looks nice, will check it out and probably tweak some changes too.
I've been using the script since you posted it, it's cooler than that of my browser. I noticed some issues though like

background display while trying to construct a post :

fix: i just made  td.windowbg2 to style the decendants of td with windowbg2 i.e just spacing it as in ' td .windowbg2'
the result
'
and
signature display. Height expands on mobile view and likely tablet view ,making other parts of the signature disfigured  esecially when you try to view profile.

fix: i just removed line 650, part of styling for the added 'processed' class ,

i don't know if you have any thread/ github repo for it but you can update it in the code you pasted here yourself if you approve it.

See how the girl was doing. It is very possible that the way she was doing, her dress was mistakenly torn.
Yeah that was what happen, she was resisting so along the process of forceful pulling her top got stuck tother side of the entrance and since it was short I think it tore making the situation  worse for her because the video was revealed  publicly. She was at fault  from the beginning,  she could have just wait and then when the security team arrives then she can start making any complaints she has but bow she lost on both side which looks so stupid.

Watch out for Smart contract scams

As the title says, I'm trying to raise awareness about smart contract scams. They're becoming more common now that we have more developers entering the Web3 space.

Today, I got a message from someone who's been trying to gain my trust for almost 6 months on X (formerly Twitter). This user claimed to be a female which I know is a lie but Idc anywas, she always tried to discuss crypto(trading and likes).
I noticed something weird about her discussion texts , about 70% were written with the help of AI, while the other 30% were her own words, I noticed this but never bothered to ask but i kept it as a red flag though.

Finally, today she sent me a message asking if I was interested in testing her smart contract, which is probably a step to scamming me. I didn't entertain her message because I already knew what she's planning.

I brought it here to create awareness for Nigerians because we are part of dominant in this space and not to entertain such atempts  to the extent of falling for it ..Most of this scammers will hide their identity, then try to gain your trust before attempting to scam you so beware !

Re: Why Hardware Wallet Might Not Be as Safe as We Think
by

It is unsafe if you don't know where to buy from (Recommend buying only from official source)
[/url]
This is important and i will also like to add watching out for malicious sites that my try to use a nearly similar domain to fool visitors.

Hardware wallets are not like our casual wallets, they require levels of technical expertise for a safe set up, most importantly during customized settings.

Their setup shouldnt  be that hard. It’s  just normal thing that needs to be know to keep your wallet safe and besides, most of them do  have  a guide to walk any user through the process of setting up and usage
For example trezor have a guide and even learn  write up to help newbies

https://trezor.io/guides

I'm not sure about other but i believe they should also have it . Moreover,  any new user will likely  have zero idea of setting it and definitely they need a guide.

Re: Let seedphrase be absolutely secret

I feel that discussing how to store a seed phrase gives third parties and scammers a clue about how people store their seed phrase. I want to know, for the sake of beginners, do we really need to teach novices how to store seed phrase, what is meant to be secret? Or should they learn themselves the best way, which only they can remember and have access to their seed phrase.
let them have a clue or whatsoever, so far it's cold storage it has no serious threat unless they can physically  attack the owners own which is another case on it can happen to anyone, what's essential  is keeping it in a safe place too.
Beginners  need  to be taught so they won't have to make some irrational decisions slike storing their seed in a password manager, email acount, cloud storage and so many more because there have been a lot of reports of stopen coins and it’s  as aresult of backing up their seed phrase wrongly.
One of the reason i  still don't like trustwallet till today, apart from not being open sourced, they still suggest and promote a method of backing seed to cloud storage Tongue

Re: How to make wallet seeds memorable and easy for you
by

on 03/08/2025, 16:23:01 UTC
You don’t  need to memorize seed. Even if you did memorize it, still create multipla backups and stored them safely using old format, don't  do dumb shit that you will later  regret .
Human forget things easily but resources are available to look up, don't  do the mistake of memorizing without  backup and that’s  if you can successful try this approach for mutiple seeds without limit which i doubt.

But don't forget that you trust this browser extension to access anything of your data on webpages. I quote from Firefox's manage extensions "Permissions and data" tab of Dark Reader:
Quote
Required permissions for core functionality:
  • Access your data for all websites
  • Access browser tabs

I will suggest turning it off when the user is outside the forum or trying to enter any sensitive info.  i use darkmode too but my browser allows dark mode and i don't trust extensions because of the exact permission i have to give it

Its  true most people doesn't  check the TOS of most website but Its  a leghty one  and some service do purposely do that to hideout their true intesions so it’s  good to read TOS especially if you would be engaging  financially  and sensitive data sharing.
Also, i would love to add it that if you trully want privacy when using the web then use Tor let it mix identity with millions of people accross the globe which will make tracking impossible.
AFAIK your ISP can track the stuffs you're  doing online plus they have your ip so if you don't  want that then use a trusted VPN[an untrusted one can sell out your datas as well] or  use TOR [if you like you can pair it with a trusted VPN  but not necessary]

Re: Is DCA Still the Smartest Strategy in This Stage of the Cycle?
by

on 21/07/2025, 16:27:23 UTC
Yes it is and at this current  phase which Bitcoin keeps breaking altime highs you can buy Dips while still maintaining you DCA strategy. How ? Let's say you buy every week but you saw a dip before your Buying period, you could just buy the DIP for that week instead of waiting and possibly  buying higher . There's nothing to worry about though  if you  can't meet up at that time, you can still stick to your  DCA timing as there's  possibility of you getting ebven a higher DIP btw

In general, it’s also convenient to see where the posts are—in local sections or in the main English sections. If this were somehow visually displayed in the post history, I believe it would be a very useful feature for forum members and would make navigation much easier.
It is still possible to count accurately from the post history, any post that has been moved or deleted could be easily spotted as well and you can just count backwards to the timestamp. Every post is even label with their respective board. Also, ninjastic.spcae & the beta version are available for that too

Someone can send you bitcoin without asking you, and it can be a fortune. It raises another concern, that if it is a mistaken sending, will you keep it or return it to the sender in such case, it depends on you.
Depends on the reason it was sent.. I expect such person to initiate another transaction utilizing script like nulldata script (OP_RETURN) stating whatever was the reason for sending such fortune to my address(either it’s a mistake or not).
I know someone might ask what if the person doesn’t know how? The thing is losing such fortune will force you to find a alternative toward reaching out to such address, else without an attempt.. it could have a lot of meaning to the receiver..
