Ah I tried the new version and got the same error as you.

From a diff of the two versions it looks like line 18 in leveldb/db/c.cc was added:  #define strdup _strdup.  Just delete that line and remake.

I was having the same problem. Commenting out this line allowed it to compile for me (Debian testing/jessie)

Thanks!

Re: [XPM] Working on a GPU miner for Primecoin, new thread :)
by

Why will the price never recover? Since the threat of a sudden increase in production has been removed, I would expect the price to climb. Or are you suggesting that no-one will want to buy Primecoin?

The price is not going to climb. The GPU miner was one of the things keeping the price from falling.

Nobody wants to buy a coin that is constantly shitted on by server farms and botnets.

Supply is correlated to diff, block reward = 999/(diff^2).

More importantly, if more people were interested in it, demand would increase.

People want a GPU miner to:

1. Make money with their GPUs
2. Make primecoin more popular by appealing to more people
3. Increase the strength of the network
4. Shift the ratio of legit miners/botnet owners
5. Decrease supply

The price will continue to fall until something gets more people interested in it.

I was a paying customer. Cancelled the subscription and will not be returning.

Completely reinstalled my gaming rig.

I was wondering why my graphics card was heating up so bad when I wasn't mining!

Would it cost any extra for a 5850 to be shipped to Canada?

No extra charge for USPS First Class Mail to Canada

One of the 5830s w/ my forum name on a piece of paper.

Here are the 5850s. Not the greatest pic, but the best I can do while they're still in the rig mining away.

No more cards available for sale at the moment

(2) XFX 5850 - $150 worth of BTC each
(2) Sapphire 5830 - $100 worth of BTC each

Prices include shipping within the US.

I'm happy to ship internationally, but it will probably cost you extra. PM me your location and I'll tell you how much.

One of the sapphires has only seen 1 week of use, the other about a month. First to buy gets the one w/ less use.

The XFX cards have been used for about 3 months.

No problems with the cards. I purchased them new. I like to keep my cards at 60C or under and absolutely never higher than 70C.

The biggest factor these days is electricity cost.

Are you paying for electricity? If so, how much per KwH?

If I were you, I'd probably scope out a 5870 on ebay and throw it in my current machine (if you have a free PCIe slot).

Re: Estimate of all cards' Hash/s :) also shows best hash/$

My Radeon HD6950 gives me ~405MHash/s which is better than the 5870 (afaics)
It is:
1.Overvolted to 1105mV
2.core clock is 905Mhz
3.mem clock is 947mhz (due to system stability issues)
4.Shader unlocked.

Hows that for a radeon Hd6950? Good modding skills or what?

My 5870s get 465 Mh/s running stock voltage, no modifications to the firmware.
Running @ 1030/300.
~60C temp

I could push them a little more if I wanted to.

How's that for a 5870? :-)

Re: Newbie help with Sapphire 5830 Extreme overclocking
by
cryptomint
on 01/09/2011, 03:32:57 UTC
Code:
DISPLAY=:0 aticonfig --od-enable
DISPLAY=:0.1 aticonfig --od-enable
DISPLAY=:0 aticonfig --od-setclocks=1000,300 --adapter=0
DISPLAY=:0.1 aticonfig --od-setclocks=1000,300 --adapter=1
DISPLAY=:0 aticonfig --pplib-cmd "set fanspeed 0 80"
DISPLAY=:0.1 aticonfig --pplib-cmd "set fanspeed 0 80"
aticonfig --odcc --adapter=all

Is this how you're trying to overclock them?

See what LinuxCoin is using. Whatever version of drivers/software they're using allows one to bypass the limits without changing the firmware.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=7374.0

Lowering the memory clock will decrease the temperature significantly.

No performance hit for mining through an x1 slot.

You're going to need extender cables. You can get them from cablesaurus.com.

The good mining cards are all dual slot, I'd be worried about fitting those in a 2u server.
