I disagree. The major p&d cycle that made us wealthy is still there, and will remain there until the adoption curve slows significantly. That has happened in several coins, but has not yet happened in Monero. It has to rise simply because the fundamental value continues to rise.
I was thinking in terms of the broader market, specifically bitcoin which seems to be driving the prevailing crypto currency down trend. My theory is a suspicion at best, based on analysis of pedestrian information sources, and is clearly unsubstantiated. I would love to have access to the data at the big exchanges. I am happy to be corrected and defer to you analysis.
It's almost obvious that in addition to global market manipulation that is going on there are a lot of net sellers in the world of ICO projects. That influences the markets the most and helps the bears to rule so easily. But regarding to Monero that can not be sustained for too long. As usually it will rise wild as it used to in unexpected time. All we need is patience. I do not sell any single XMR before it goes to the moon. ICOs got more than 8 billion dollars just in the last quarter. They received them mostly in ETH and BTC. They had to sell some. No other options to operate especially in a downtrend. Soon we will have a lot of dead coins again and less options to invest for gain. Monero will be one of the few to survive.

The dark times are the best for a hunting, but if even long time supporters could call for $50 as the bottom, one never knows what could really happen. I have just surrendered once again for a better times. Can not memorize the number of times that has been happened before. I am still here and lurking almost every post since the beginning. Suffering hard but still keeping sweet memories of the lost keys.

As far as I can understand at this moment we are slowly moving forward to the much better world. But the road is still very long and rough. But we are much closer now when we were just 4 years ago.

But at this moment the only coins that get attention and capital inflows are the ones who spend the majority of their resources for marketing.

Will you be producing any more of the silver coins with the orange/grey enamel?

You've also got to keep in mind technically this coin could be copied by a skilled mint, and a pretty good copy could be made. Not being a funded coin with holo's/addresses and what not obviously makes that easier. It also isn't going to be easily identifyable like a US Fiat coin would be to a trained eye, for ex. No one is trolling though, just a very highly priced item and explaining why it's perhaps overpriced.
Actually, I think it would quite easy to spot a fake. Every cryptonic coin has a unique code engraved on the rim that you can input into the site for verification & will tell you if it's authentic or not. That adds a level of complexity to counterfeiting them, as these codes are not public - afaik only cryptonic21 has full access to them all. I will actually ask him to chime in here on this, as we have discussed it briefly in the past, but yes, in general, of course someone could easily counterfeit anything with the right tools and skills, IMO.
I guess this coin is original with 99,9% probability. It looks exactly as it should and the ID is correct.
As for the price it can be determined only by the seller and a buyer.

Monero is still among very few who survived chinese news. Volume is also not so bad - only very few can still beat it. I can not predict the future. But at this moment Monero looks like the most safe heaven. But we never know the plans of the people who make the "chinese news".

I'm pretty vocal on this thread as y'all around here know, although this is pretty much the only place online in crypto world where I ever talk about much at all (primarily because I believe the 'regulars' here are a cut above the usual online discourse... certain parties excepted, LOL)
Anyway, I've been pretty quiet thru all this shitstorm just because it's taken a while to come to any conclusions.
So now, in an effort to -- I HOPE -- help start putting it to rest (ha, fat chance)...
1. This is one of those situations that is NEVER gonna be "resolved".
2. Some people are gonna always hate this and some are gonna always love it.
3. As per #2 I believe (hope) that overall it'll be about a break-even "wash"
4. Monero will lose some people over this issue but it'll gain other people over it, so again maybe a "wash"
5. In a few months when we're over $100 for a thousand OTHER reasons, this will probably be largely a non-issue anymore
6. In the end only the code matters. The tech is solid. The coin is working. Nothing else really counts as much.
7. BUT in the meantime? "There's No Such Thing As Bad Publicity"... LOL People talking about Monero! Yay!
8. Even if it is "trash talking", probably *still* YAY 'cuz even that'll bring people on the other side of the argument.

It is bordering insanity to buy now. We are right at resistance and the VWAs are coming to meet us from above.
If you are out, a much better bet is buy when the resistance is cleared (let's say 0.012) or we descend to the last week lows (0.0058) or the support (0.0042).
I don't usually consider shorting XMR but this is one of the rare occasions.

if only monero will follow similar patterns as bitcoin... all of us who is trying to get every single cheap coin will be ok. Yes, at this moment i feel pain, and a lot of my friends as well. But when it will get to the desired point haha ...we will see... permabul here.
I am not a trader, but it's difficult not to trade. I would never think I can buy for the current price, but I do it. I want more and I am just a little fish. I believe in Monero. Every coin matters.
Get a phone app with a price alarm, then ignore it.
Are there any apps of this kind in iOS AppStore? For bitcoin i happily use "Bitcoin Ticker", but can't find anything like that for XMR.
For Android, I use Bitfolio. I haven't figured out how to erase dash and ripple from the interface, but I will.
