Re: What is a satoshi - For Newbies

Satoshi is the smallest unit of Bitcoin Currency and is a standard unit in the distribution of BTC itself.
Next, I have listed the satoshi price level for 1 Bitcoin.

 0.00000001 BTC = 1 Satoshi
0.0000001 BTC = 10 Satoshi
0.000001 BTC = 1 uBTC (micro)
0.00001 BTC = 10 uBTC
0,0001 BTC = 100 uBTC
0.001 BTC = 1 mBTC (milli)
0.01 BTC = 10 mBTC
0.1 BTC = 100 mBTC
1 BTC = 1 BTC
10 BTC = 10 BTC
100 BTC = 100 BTC
1,000 BTC = 1 kBTC (kilo)
10,000 BTC = 10 kBTC
100,000 BTC = 100 kBTC
1,000,000 BTC = 1MBTC (mega)
10,000,000 BTC = 10MBTC

Hopefully, add information that is clear and complete by others.

Re: Bitcoin Adoption In Your Country
by

here in Indonesia government justifies bitcoin as a digital asset but not for legal payment instruments. as citizens and bitcoin trader we really appreciate that and continue to hope that people can get to know more about bitcoin and accept it as a legitimate payment instrument

That won't happen anytime soon, even in my opinion it won't even happen in the next 1 or 2 decades. By accepting bitcoin or other crypto assets as a means of payment, the government and the central bank will lose power to regulate financial stability. Not to mention there is still an assumption that bitcoin is prone to use for crimes such as money laundry, terrorism funding, tax evasion, and others because with the decentralization system, bitcoin cannot be monitored by any party.
There are several conditions for something to be used as a means of payment such as money, including,

1. Portability, easy to carry anywhere.
2. Durability, the resistance of the object.
3. Divisibility, Can be broken down into smaller units.
4. Standardization, has clear standards.
5. Recognizability, globally recognized.
6. Stability of Value, the stability of the value of the object.
7. Elasticity of Supply, the amount is sufficient.

Points 4,5 and 6 are not yet attached to bitcoin so it is still difficult to be accepted as a means of payment globally, especially in Indonesia. Bitcoin's journey to be accepted as a means of payment in Indonesia is still very long.

Orang Indonesia kalau berada diluar negeri bisa beli Setarbak make bitcoin.
https://news.tokocrypto.com/2019/06/16/starbucks-terima-bitcoin-sebagai-alat-pembayaran/

Re: [Guide] Macam-Macam Wallet Cryptocurrency Serta Pro & Kontranya Untuk Pengguna
by

on 25/07/2019, 05:09:40 UTC
https://tekno.kompas.com/read/2017/12/12/17090037/-keylogger-ditemukan-di-laptop-hp-pengguna-dianjurkan-update

Apa gak ribet om kalo sekali pakek langsung dibuang? Jadi kayak punya wallet "sementara" aja buat numpang lewat.

I just saw a article out today about fiat money being 800:1 times more likely to be considered 'dirty' and used in black market

It would be better if you include the article so that it can be learned together. In my opinion, fiat currencies are more widely used in black markets because fiat currencies are far more widely used than digital currencies. Both can be used for crime or good, depending on how the user treats them.

Dia bikin coin low supply tanpa airdrop, bounty, ICO dll.

Re: Indonesia, the second largest crypto adopter without legality.
by

on 19/07/2019, 07:27:58 UTC
indonesia by far is one of hugh asean country with population of 200,000,000 people.  the adoption rate of crypto is rather high.

267 million more precisely and we are the country with the largest population in Southeast Asia.

http://bappebti.go.id/resources/docs/peraturan/sk_kep_kepala_bappebti/sk_kep_kepala_bappebti_2019_02_01_w9i365pf_id.pdf

And for the issue of cryptocurrency legality in Indonesia, as stated by OP, it is very clear. There are already regulations that are the legal basis for trading cryptocurrency assets as one of the tradable commodities.
The regulation certainly can stimulate the interest of the Indonesian people to accept and develop cryptocurrency, certainty and legal protection and also regulate the provisions on anti-money laundering and the prevention of funding of terrorism. This will certainly make Indonesia a cryptocurrency center in Southeast Asia.

Re: Libras impact on bitcoin price
by

If finally libra is realized, I don't think it will have a big effect on the price movements of bitcoin. There may have been hundreds of types of cryptocurrency that appeared and sank but still bitcoin became the first. What distinguishes Libra from other cryptocurrency is only a strong network that has been formed through Facebook and WhatsApp, especially with a stable coin platform that may not attract too many people.

Re: LESSONS FROM CRYPTO MARKET
by
djadmika
on 18/07/2019, 08:09:38 UTC
The lessons referred to by the OP may be more into the trading category. If our main goal is an investment in bitcoin, then the price volatility that has occurred so far will not be a big problem. Investment is an activity of placing funds in productive assets in the hope of getting a return on the growth of the value of the asset, within a certain period of time. Investment is passive where we cannot control profits or losses in a certain period. While trading is buying and selling activities that are carried out to obtain profits in a certain period. Trading is active where we determine the profit or loss that we will get. This is where there is "fear" and "greed" as stated by the OP.

Bitcoin price movements always go up and down every time, but if you see price trends in the long run, the price always goes up. I myself consider bitcoin as a long-term investment so I am not too affected by the price movements of bitcoin.
