by

on 23/08/2025, 17:14:03 UTC
Have a few excellent condition 100oz RCM bars left to sell at Spot +$1/oz (~$3985 each atm, insured shipping included). About the best price currently available for these premium bars. Now is the time before the printers turn back on!

Best price on the US market appears to be in the $2-$4/oz over spot range...often plus shipping and insurance costs:
JM Bullion $4252 (~$3.39/oz over spot) https://www.jmbullion.com/100-oz-rcm-silver-bar-new/
AMPEX $4313 (~$4/oz over spot): https://www.usgoldbureau.com/product/100-oz-silver-royal-canadian-mint-bar

Let me know how many bars you'd like in the replies and I'll see if we can fulfill the request. Might be able to make a deal for larger purchases. Please wait for confirmation and payment instructions, before making any payments.

Payment required in BTC, LTC, ETH, BNB, SOL and possibly others. I have a flawless 10+ year history of trading on this forum and over 20-years perfect trading history on EBAY...so no concerns to be had. I do what I say and only offer top-quality. This lot is located in the United States...Free insured US shipping only.

Escrow is of course fine through MJ at buyer's expense for those that want it. Escrow will typically cost 1%, so figure ~40 cents/oz additional.

Here are images of the 100oz .9999 RCM bars. 30 bars sold...18 remain available for now. Might be more available upon request. See images for condition detail, but all bars are in great shape, climate-controlled stored with no tarnish.  Feel free to send along any inquiries you might have...

Looking forward to seeing the images. They are beautiful bars. These are actually my favorite silver bars to collect and I have a few of them as well. Unfortunately I can’t even tell you the last time I’ve seen mine because that sort of stuff gets locked away so I will admire yours and live through you.

Thanks OG...true, haven't actually seen this stack for years either, but plan to head over to the vault this week for the photo shoot. Should be fun.

BTW, for those inquiring...escrow is of course fine through MJ at buyer's expense for those that want it. But as others we've transacted with can testify, won't be necessary...and going direct will speed up the process and reduce costs. Escrow will typically cost 1%, so figure 30-40 cents/oz additional ($1.80-$1.90/oz total premium atm)...still below the $2-$3/oz best price premium currently available in the market for these bars.

Have several excellent condition 100oz RCM bars to sell at Spot+$1.50/oz (~$3400/bar atm, insured shipping included). Best price on the US market appears to be in the $2-$3/oz over spot atm, usually plus shipping and insurance costs. Premium physical silver bars are in high demand right now.

Images forthcoming...haven't had a chance to get over to the vault quite yet. Thanks for the interest!

Re: [WTS] 1 BTC Casascius coin - 2011 Series 1 *Error coin* - Unredeemed

Hi LMD, and welcome.

Just so you do not waste your time here, you won't get anything close to 1.5BTC for a Cas error here on the forum.

Multiple just sold this last month via Stacks at the $88.5k mark, and all were graded. On April 3rd, date of auction, BTC was right around $83K-$83.5K, so premium on a graded Cas error was around $5k, or 1.06ishBTC sale price. Even the grading did not impact sale price between the MS61-MS65 range. Being yours is raw, you can likely expect less premium than a graded Cas.

https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/lots/view/3-1HB4LC/2011-casascius-1-bitcoin-loaded-firstbits-13lv9h3k-series-1-casacius-error-brass-ms-65-pcgs
https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/lots/view/3-1HB4LP/2011-casascius-1-bitcoin-loaded-firstbits-188jttuv-series-1-casacius-error-brass-ms-62-anacs

Just setting realistic expectations for you. The forum is more of a wholesale marketplace. If you are expecting high premiums I would consider an auction house in the future.
GLWS.

FWIW, believe there is a 20% buyer's premium at S&B, so buyers were ultimately willing to pay ~$88,500+20%. No commissions here, so might be able to get a bit more than .06BTC premium...call it ~.2-.25BTC for the right coins. Higher premiums however, have been hard to fetch as others have noted. Could change based on market sentiment at any time though...market dynamics have created unusual results in the past for the right collectibles.

I have sold off the St.Petersburg Bitcoin Bowl Coin that was made by Casascius. I don’t believe it was ever pictured on this thread, nor does it hold actual BTC, but I wanted to update anyone that may be watching this thread. The brass coins are still available for sale if anyone wants them individually. Happy coining!

Hi OG...anyone know the last known sale price for the St. Pete coin?

I had an auction in May for one on here... went for 0.036 btc which was about $2400 at the time of sale

Mine sold on June 5th of 2024 for 0.0363 BTC, which was $2,500 at the time of sale.  Seems like that is about the going rate to expect.  Perhaps a little higher in USD terms and lower in BTC terms compared to today's price.  I think a fair expectation would be to pay somewhere between 0.023 BTC and 0.036 BTC for one today.  Who knows though.  Not a ton of these were produced.  It may be hard to find one in collector condition these days.

This is helpful...thanks much. Not bad considering they originally cost ~$200 I believe, and only 2000 produced according to Mike (SOURCE: https://casascius.wordpress.com/ casascius · December 23, 2014 - 7:51 pm · Reply→ 2000 total.). Guessing far fewer exist today.

Kind of depends who you ask whether that is bad or not. Some people irrationally expect things they buy with Bitcoin to outpace Bitcoin’s future gains (even though nothing will), otherwise they call it a scam. For the rest of the world though, yes, this was a nice return on such a cheap item to purchase upon its release. Still, Bitcoin would have been a more profitable buy.

Absolutely...as an investment and hedge, not sure anything will outpace BTC against fiat...and at some point, fiat valuation won't matter anymore once the economy moves to the Bitcoin Standard. From a collector's perspective, it's interesting to see these cool BTC-related pieces appreciated by the market. Been out of the loop for a few years...have other high-level collectibles of note emerged at the top of the market? The Allen & Ginter trading cards seemed promising. Anything other cool items you all like? Guessing Casascius are still the benchmark collectible...

Only 800 passed QC.. the other 1200 were returned to the mint.

And there you go! Casascius coins generally seem to be destined to be the benchmark physical BTC collectible long-term...along with Bitcoin Magazine #1.

Still interest in these rare, if obscure CAS issues it seems then.

Re: How would you safely sale a Casascius coin
by

on 25/11/2024, 17:00:01 UTC
Premiums are pretty much non-existent due to current pricing of bitcoin.

Best move is to peel/redeem the coin and then if you don't want the carcass, can auction off/sell on here.
Current market value is around $1000 per coin (per Ebay sales)

Happy to help with any logistics/escrow needed

MJ...been a while, how are things?

We knew these Casascius premiums would fade under a fiat system in dollar-fiat denominated exchange terms...but once the world moves to The Bitcoin Standard, everything changes. Numismatic premiums are orders of magnitude beyond face value for historically important pieces. Most everyone currently believes these have little to no premium value atm, so the vast majority will be redeemed and ruined...hence very few will survive. Given Mike Caldwell's contributions in the early days, and the prominent place these coins hold in Bitcoin lore, along with human affinity for physical collectible objects...wouldn't be surprised to see a healthy premium for the few Cas coins that remain once the dollar valuation relevance (and the importance of fiat generally) disappears. NFT's and Beeple's $69M Everydays sale is signal to what could be for ultra-rare desirable pieces of BTC history...

I finally managed to complete the precious metals Casascius collection all with intact holograms, along with every year and denomination of the originals (along with the very first error coin).  I thought some people might like to see them, so here they are.  They are all loaded with the exception of the 1000 BTC, which still has an intact hologram.

Willing to entertain offers in the neighborhood of 45 BTC.

Not pictured is the St. Petersburg coin.

...and of course the originals.

OG...been a while...good to see the Casascius market still alive and well. So many of these coins being redeemed lately with low premiums and skyrocketing value of BTC. Think I saw a 25BTC go down the other day? At this rate, won't be many left of an already extremely limited initial supply. Will be interesting to see what happens to the numismatic value and premium once Bitcoin becomes the global standard against which other assets are denominated...

TECSHARE is selling them for .0076 at the moment - here is his thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5248897.0

not sure if that is the true value or not as that is the only other one I see for sale.

That's helpful...thank you. Not sure if his are signed/numbered...and not sure if it matters other than to verify authenticity.

Longtime BCT members and Bitcoin collectors will remember this one...sold by Nubbins back in 2014. Limited edition "What is Bitcoin?" poster...this one is signed and numbered 76/100. Believe only 50 ended up making into the open market...no idea how many still exist. Here is the original thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=756955.0

These only come available once every few years. Awesome conversation piece to hang in the office.

Here are a few pictures of the actual poster being sold. https://www.flickr.com/gp/189490778@N06/7Z5b9B

Feel free to ask any questions. No idea what this is worth, so feel free to make an offer...if a solid offer isn't presented, will just frame and hang it in my office! Grin

Will accept most any major crypto. Thanks in advance for the interest...

the correct name is "Casascius" and it is not offline storage, it is a physical bitcoin

I'd hardly call a gimmick silver coin with a sticker over a QR code a secure method of storage.

In any event, any of the coins that have been "slabbed" with the sticker still intact you would have no way of knowing whether or not the sticker was peeled off, the details transcribed and then carefully replaced immediately prior to encapsulation.  (We'll know for certain one day into the future if someone decides to cash in the funds)

Actually, its pretty easy to know...simply check the firstbits balance...if it's still there, the coin is not tampered with. Any scammer would steal the balance asap.

Collectibles are gimmicks to some and treasures to others...market determines true value...

You can use ForkMyCoins. It can check 20 addresses at the time as long as they don't have more than 50 transactions.

This is helpful...thank you. Any way to also check airdrops like CLAMS?

Bitcoin Fork/Airdrop Total Balance Checker

Been hunting around for a comprehensive Bitcoin address total balance checker that will show the total balance of all BTC forks and airdrops, along with current FIAT market value calcs and totals. I know about https://someone235.github.io/btc-forks-balance/, but it's limited and only shows a few forks, several of which show errors fetching balance. Searched Bitcointalk to no meaningful avail...guessing there are threads on the forum addressing this? If anyone could point me in the right direction for resources along these lines, it would be much appreciated...
