I think that's a patch from the official Technobit site, not a third-party patch:

Any chance there'll be support for Technobit's HEX16A2 boards?
If they submit their code in a way consistent with other driver submissions, or provide one of us devs hardware to help massage the code to get into mainline cgminer then sure.
There is a patch for these boards: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=355031.0
Is it possible to integrate it into the main code?

Pushed a "gridseed" branch to the main BFGMiner git based on nwoolls's code.
I'm not sure how these are supposed to perform, but I get some inconsistent results in benchmark mode:
Code:
DMU 0:       |  36.8/ 68.2/ 41.7kh/s | A: 28 R:0+0(none) HW:0/none
GSD 0:       |  0.73/ 1.27/ 0.17Mh/s | A:112 R:0+0(none) HW:8/none

How's it work for others who have been using them in production?

The gridseed support works fine, at least it does for me on Win7-64. How about implementing the support for Technobit Hex boards?

I think most people SSH into the Pi from their computer, rather than attaching a monitor/keyboard.

Where can I find instructions on how to do that? I'm completely new to Linux.

My gridseed miner uses ST32 Virtual COM Port, and at the moment cgminer-3.7.2 doesn't detect the device. I've updated its driver by zadig, but still no luck. What is the solution to this?

Use a Rasberypi and linux

I've been thinking that. Which brand of Linux would you recommend?

Is there a way to use a regular power supply like this one - http://www.ebay.com/itm/400633139181?var=670187426663&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Or must I necessarily mess with the wires?

I had a regular 12v 6a power supply laying around (like one for a laptop), I tried using that, but the device showed a red light. Why wouldn't this work?

Re: Running 200GH/s Avalon via a computer
by
everest556

I got that by now. The problem I'm having now is that the unit periodically resets, and after resetting enough times it stops mining and I have to unplug, restart and reconnect the unit to get it mining again (simply restarting cgminer isn't enough). Just before reset event I see errors like "usb_write_error on avalon_write" or "Avalon: Discarding 11 bytes from buffer".

Is there a solution to this? I don't mind the resets per se, but in about an hour or two, the hashrate drops to zero and I have to restart the miner, as I said. Maybe some buffer is getting stacked up?

You must first and foremost understand what the difficulty increase is and what it does to your mining gains.

No, I have 2 boards. Here's the picture: http://i.imgur.com/TbZ6uwO.jpg
I was told it's a 200GH/s unit.

I'm running it without the debug now. It sometimes shows errors like "usb_write_error on avalon_write" and "Avalon: Discarding 11 bytes from buffer" and "AvalonRead: usb read err". After too many of these, the hashrate gradually drops to zero and I have to shutdown, restart and reconnect the device to get it running again. If I simply restart cgminer, it only shows a black window or says "Started cgminer" and does nothing else.

It seems like it can only reset so many times until it locks like that and has to be manually restarted.

Here's the command line I'm running:
Code:
cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://us1.ghash.io:3333 -u x.208Avalon -p 123 --avalon-options 115200:16:10:D:1500:55 --avalon-auto --avalon-temp 77 --avalon-cutoff 90
