Most altcoins are rubbish and you will lose money on it. Only smart people who understand which ICOs are going to deliver and which won't will be able to profit on those opportunities. At the end of the day it's just like when you invest in the stock market.

Re: LIST OF BAD ICO
by

Just want to tell you everyone, i will share list of bad ICO

- coindash
- pillar
- adx
- myst
- sonm
- polybius

tell me other bad ICO , i will add your answer

Tell me a rason, what's make this project are bad

what would be your basis why you are saying that those coins are bad is this because of the current value after the ico ended?
i guess you need to think twice if you aware about waves that coin also went deeper after its ico and now you see how big
the coin was and its still continuing the development so its too early to assess but needs  to keep it watch instead,.

If the market price is below ICO price, why should it be an investor? I'd better save my money to buy in the market

RISE
BANCOR

added

If the metric you are going by is market price after ICO you would have a much much shorter list of good ICO cause over 95%+ of coins drop below market value at some point.

Invest in good ICO rather than established coins. ICO have the most potential as you can invest in the earliest stage possible and it's also often the way to get coins at their cheapest. Then you can divest over time in order to acquire new coins via ICO and so on and so on. This way you get both diversification and good profits.

It's 100% based on Bitcoin Cash falling and has little to do with Ripple making any gains. In my opinion both coins are shit and overpriced at current levels.

Re: [ANN][ICO] Electroneum ICO September 14th. Mobile based cryptocurrency with App

What is the total pre-mine vs total yet to be mined and the block time?

You talk about mobile mining but what will stop someone from making a cpu or gpu miner? How does this differentiate itself from mobile phone wallet apps that use bitcoin or ethereum?

The project is in interesting and logistics certainly could use a blockchain based system but I don't see how one you will get any major companies to use your token and two how you why they wouldn't just use an internal centralized blockchain between themselves with payment guaranteed in ETH or BTC if not fiat.

Re: Japan now #1 in volume
by
favila
on 04/08/2017, 16:38:29 UTC
Where are you seeing Japan as #1 in volume? Looking at http://data.bitcoinity.org I'm seeing these volumes for the past couple weeks:

Volume (in BTC)     Week 7/23  Week 7/16
USD/BTC  621k  982k
CNY/BTC  180k  255k
JPY/BTC  94k  168k

Looks like Japan's volume is still way behind both China and the US.
Good information, china has always been the biggest rival for america and japan. In the future China will become a Super Power State, many predict as it is.

OP's post was from February when Japan was number 1 for a while in BTC. USD is however always king, whenever China, Japan or South Korea have shown up as number one in volume it has usually been based on data from exchanges with little or no fees which inflated the volume.

I think it's not possible now becouse of that dump (bittrex allowed deposits). Well, we will see.

I didn't think it would hit $1k as it did the day it got listed on bittrex, but you are right the trend has been a constant downtrend for over a day now, hard to see the end of it.

Re: How long are BTC transactions taking?
by
favila
on 30/07/2017, 13:53:39 UTC
I bought some BTC on Coinbase last night and had it sent to Poloniex.  I know the BTC wallet address was accurate.  Its still pending 11 hours later and doesn't show up in the Poloniex deposit/withdrawal history.  Any clue on how long BTC transactions are taking?

How long it takes depends on the fee you paid but generally with a sufficient fee it should show up on poloniex within an hour.

Are you sure you sent to the correct address? Take a look at your transaction ID and see how many confirmations it has. If your fee was too low its possible to accelerate it with viabtc.

I would go for 5k USD each or even greater.

It's going to need a whole lot of real world applications running on their smart contracts for that to happen. It's a disruptive technology for sure but it's still only one of many smart contract enabled coins currently on the market.

Re: [ANN][ICO] ShadowToken for the highly rated Shadow Era TCG
by

on 30/07/2017, 13:45:41 UTC
They haven't specified how much they will raise the price or at what intervals so it's hard to say how it will go but for sure I think this ICO is worth 5 million+

The starting price for SHDW will be $0.05 across all pairs on August 1st at 9am EDT. It's a free market, so we will raise the price with demand and others are free to buy/sell at whatever price they want or can.

The ICO is not to raise money for development, but rather to transition from a single owner to community-driven development led by a board of directors. 100% of the profit from the Shadow Era game, physical cards, and IP will go to the token holders!

As dev said, the best time to buy tokens after ico is opened. Because prices will rise with increasing demand.

That's true, I think that the most attractive price will be in the beginning, so good luck, guys ;-)

Well that should be obvious because he won't list the tokens for a lower price which means the only way to be sure to get it cheapest is to buy right from the start.

Re: BTC upto 5000$!!
by

$5k this year is easily doable because we saw how much litecoin price went up after segwit and bitcoin only needs a doubling over the next 4 months to reach $5k.

Whether it really happens though will depend on how much drama is created during the planned hard fork later this year.

Re: [ANN][ICO] ChronoLogic - Proof-of-Time token on Ethereum
by
favila
on 30/07/2017, 13:39:34 UTC
Interesting idea, looks like a  usage token platform with masternode, mining farm as basis right ?
I wonder how proof of time works since eth is block based

It is similar to a masternode, your TimeMint though will exist in your ETH address and so it can stay in your cold wallet. There is no need to keep you machine on.

The other difference with masternodes, is that you will be able to sell a TimeMint through a smart contract,
only 3,333 TimeMints can exist.

That sounds like good way for making money passively. I wonder how market for TimeMint will work ?

The DAY token - which again is the token your TimeMint will mint in your ETH address through the passage of time - will be tradable on exchangers, the TimeMints (or Masternodes) instead will be able to get sold via a trustless smart contract, may the TimeMint holder wish to sell.

Only people participating in the ICO will be able to have one of the 3333 TimeMints available.

TimeMints will have their own secondary market.

For more information i suggest you join the Slack.

I don't understand are we buying TimeMint or DAY tokens in ICO because the OP says we are buying DAY.

Re: 🌟🌟🌟🚀[ANN][04.07] ICO Starta - Cross-Coin Venture capital on the blockchain🌟
by

Can someone please explain to me how the success of the group behind starta would translate to success for coin holders?  I understand they are supposed to use profits to buy back coins but what happens then?

I think that's it.
They buy buy and buy. Then price goes up and up  Grin

But what are they going to do with the coins they buy?  Are they going to be burned?  If they just sell them later then there's no point.

Obviously they will get burned otherwise they would just keep the profits they make instead.

Re: Should I invest On BITCOIN right Now or Later
by

I recommend to wait until the bitcoin price is confirmed to be stable. But if you want to take risks then now is the right time.
You can speculate to get big profits and also could lose big too.

Except you will miss out on the free bitcoin cash if you wait until after to buy. Right now we are going to get segwit and also a free altcoin with it, there isn't really much risk compared to previously.

Re: BTC AND ETH ON TOR?
by
favila
on 29/07/2017, 20:23:51 UTC
TOR browser is usually used by anonymous people to stay safe by traffic. TOR is usually used for accessing deep web. TOR itself sounds illelegal and has nothing to do here. You cannot just earn BTC and ETH using TOR browser. If you start using deepweb which is totally illelegal then you can earn some perhaps. I would suggest you to stay far from such illelegal thing known deepweb and TOR browser
Tor is synonymous with deep web and the intention is mostly to remain anonymous, so mere mention of using TOR browser here signifies you have some you plan to hide other than that the conventional approach to making BTC or ETH, would have been your good ane enough for you.

TOR is about privacy, it is often used for illegal purpose but not exclusively. Anyway bitcoin and alts are not tied to a specific browser so you can use anything to buy, sell and trade but it won't magically make you money.

I have $200,000$ Bitcoin in BTC-E.. about 2/3 my net worth..I have always been legit, even went out of my way and paid upward of $25,000 taxes to USGOV when I wire transferred out of BTC-E year or two ago.. There is no legal basis to steal our money, I like to think it can't be done.

I suggest wait for the dust to settle there will most likely be a way to claim your coins back, otherwise lawyer up.

Incredible 1800 ETH collected in pre-ICO, I am sure if ICO has already started, this project will be successful in a short time.

Expect to join signature campaign after ICO neverdie ends

I didn't think this ico had enough popularity despite a nice concept but I'm glad they were able to reach out to enough people to fund them in pre-ico phase.

Waves having upcoming release of their exchange..
I would suggest you to hold it

Waves is a pretty solid coin with more and more support these days from ico. This thread seems to be filled with both pumpers and dumpers, I would rather hodl for the long term rather than worry about short term movements in price.
