I'd like to use an escrow service since I'm not expecting someone to send first with me being new here without excrow and unless it's a longtime respected member here I really don't feel comfortable sending second. I'm willing to pay a small vig, market price at Trade Hill is $13.60 so lets say $14 per bitcoin. I may be willing to do smaller amounts than $120 buying a gift card for someone but I'd want market price if I do that. The $120 card I'm trying to liquidate I'm willing to pay a small premium.

I think it's an interesting idea and I'm certainly going to check it out for buying. What are the payment options for buyers?

One thing I don't understand is why a seller would want to use this service with no reserve rather than sell in a market such as Trade Hill? I wouldn't expect people to bid higher than the current market price unless you have payment options not offered on the exchanges like paypal or something. So wouldn't sellers have a high risk of selling below market value? Or do you offer payment options not found on the exchange that will attract buyers wiling to pay a premium for bitcoins?

I play online poker everyday, I really want to see bitcoin take over online poker. Wish I had the time to put in beta testing and helping out, but time is money and I can't take on anymore responsibilities right now. But I'm rooting for you and when I get some more time I'll play, even if it's one tabling bitcoin poker while playing on merge just to keep the games going. I can't understand why bitcoins aren't mainstream in poker, even in the EU they have regulation and can play on any site but with the taxes and the rake bitcoin just makes sense. For Americans it's a no brainier. Really hope to see bitcoin turn the current online gambling/poker landscape on it's head.

The only thing that will keep it going is if goods and services are traded in bitcoins. Mining alone is worthless without people willing to purchase bitcoins.

No transaction should ever take two weeks. Something didn't work, I'm still too much of a newb to figure out what went wrong but I can promise you that two weeks isn't right.

Those telling you to leave the wallet running longer must not have read your entire post. You have let it run way longer than it should take, something else went wrong. Wish I could help more but I'm a newb to bitcoin too, but have sent a few transactions so I know it doesn't take anywhere near that long. Good luck

Sent MG for BTC and had them in my wallet in 24 hours. Would definitely trade with again. Bitcoin Poker here I come

I had the same problem but wasn't doing a large transaction. I ended up using Virwox, get linden dollars then transfer from linden to Bitcoin. Fees are horrible, much better off using tradehill and ACH through dwolla.

If you do use Virwox be warned you can only purchase whole dollar amounts and whole bitcoins not fractions. And if you use a credit card be prepared to wait 48 hours to withdraw your bitcoins. You can place the withdrawal immediately but they don't process them for 48 hours.
