Yeah, I hate the fact that it got sprung on me like that, but I will follow procedure. It is odd because I never used BitInstant with regards to MtGox, only Tradehill, and only once, so I suspect somebody has actually fed MtGox the database of e-mail addresses from BitInstant's database and I don't like my data being passed around like that. So yeah I'm pissed, but what can you do?
Mtgox always trying to play the Bitcoin World Police role and always attemping to sneak money from their users by making "Overnight changes" and "Troubles" as many as possible so hope some one will just at sometimes "come on, wtf, ok that's not much $$, i would rather save my time"
If you talk about the underground "intelligence exchange", then it must be their partner FBI "enforces the law" outside US borders jurisdiction
I say more people should fly to Japan and kick Mark Karpeles's ass hard every day when he enter or leave the office building, and mtgox should pay for all those fees of "notarize & post" too!

What they will most likely reply with, is a request for documentation via post.
It will need to be notarized with an apostille and sent to Japan. If you see their AML page it is basically the same as becoming trusted status, so that guidance is pretty much what you need to do.

This seems like a classic con-man tactics to gain money. This does not make sense. Did you ever hear about a bank asking all users having sent funds through a certain funding method to reverify at the bank where they hold their account? I never heard about such nonsense. If you're verified, you're verified, and asking customers to verify again, how can that make sense? It will only anger customers. Lots of users who do not have too much money at MtGox will probably just give up altogether and MtGox will keep that money for ever.
There was talks about some ongoing investigations in a thread posted to reddit where someone claimed they'd gone to MtGox and talked to Gonzague Gay-Bouchery, manager of business development at MtGox which then told that there's a couple of ongoing investigations.
In my opinion, a lot of his answers were very vague and I did not become reassured about what he said.
Anyway, to OP, there's nothing else to do but to do what they request from you - do that and see if the situation solves itself - and after that perhaps just get the money hell out of there if you can?

I am still waiting for a reply from mtgox, they are not answering my tickets or showing me how to unlock my account, i am really pissed off

I'm not sure if it's directly related to BitInstant. All MtGox users have had withdrawals frozen at the moment. They're saying it's a technical issue.

Mtgox recently locked my verified account and doesn't allow me to withdraw Bitcoin/Fiat because i used Bitinstant years ago
I have $40k USD and 100 bitcoins in my account for day trades, when i tried to withdraw, it shows
"Your account has been restricted from accessing funding options. Please contact support@mtgox.com for additional information on why your account has been restricted."
Mtgox locked all accounts who ever used Bitinstant before, i think many accounts have been locked for this cause Bitinstant and Aurumxchange used to be very popular funding options,

I sent them few support tickets few days before, not a single one reply has been received until now, it seems like they are just ignoring me and buying time with this "excuse" because they have run out their FIAT and BITCOINS
Is it acceptable if they asked me to send them physically and notarized documents to their Japan office and force me to upgrade to "Trusted" level from "Verified" ? they did do such ridiculous thing to a user
