We need to actually start using QRK as a payment system, if it's value is to rise.  That means encouraging people to use it, and also giving people reason to trust it as a currency.

Agreed! People need to head over to the Foundation and see the progress they are making on the Mobile Wallet Application.
Raising pledges and actively looking for a developer.

It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to do small thing to promote EAC.
Some easy things to do:
Invite friends to 'like' the Earthcoin page on Facebook.
Share the forum link to people interested in learning more about cryptos.
Give away a few (doesn't have to be a lot) EAC to someone that is not yet involved with EAC.
Use EAC for any kind of financial transaction that is possible to do with crypto.
Donate to the charities set up for EAC.
Etc.

Anything out there to promote EAC helps.

Quark needs a working block chain website for verifying address balances, and a mobile wallet if it is going to be adopted. It needs this like yesterday...
I am trying to get the people from blockr.io on board so we will see what they say..

Any suggestions on getting someone to modify an existing mobile wallet for Quark? Max Guevera says it should not be hard(although he himself is not experienced with mobile applications), he states that the APIs are very similar to Bitcoin...

I voted for Quark because I like it best of the choices..Not sure what is going to happen with WDC and Scharmbeck..although I have some of those as well and think it looks promising...Guess it remains to be seen..Can someone please give info on what Stablecoin is, and why it is better and more secure than Quark? I don't know anything about it...

I was told about the vote from the Lotto people, but it wasn't a bribe!..Anyway I looked at the list and I really did think it was the best coin of all the choices listed. I think that it would be a great coin having anything to do with fun and games, gambling, Vegas, etc. It got my vote legitimately.
Thank you.
p.s. 75% is unreasonable, all coin forums are telling people to vote here for their coin. However I understand you wanted a fair vote- should establish a no bribe rule in future. Maybe re-do the vote with the rule of forfeiture for violation of the no bribe rule.

Re: Is BTC-e scamming you?

BTC-E IS SCAMMING ME

Sent a usd deposit on november 15.  Funds went through fine.  I bought coins with the funds.  Then a hold was put on the account.  This i thought was normal since USD was deposited.  I submitted all of the requested documents almost immediately.  Sensitive documents like articles of incorporation, power of attorney, and scanned passport.  The money was sent from a corporate account so they asked for company documents.  Now almost 2 months later my account is still on hold.  I have submitted numerous support tickets and emails and I either get no response or some irrelevant statement like we need your passport which i sent 7 times.  At this point all i want to do is take my coins and close the account, but they will not let me.  My coins are on hold for all this time.

At this point i am ready to pursue legal action.  If anyone knows how I can do so, please let me know.

These people are either completely incompetent, or scammers.  I really hope its incompetence.
For anyone needing BTC-e support tickets answered, you need to go to the BTC-e's main thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40889.0;topicseen...State your case and list any support tickets..After weeks of emailing them and unanswered support tickets, I got a resolution to my deposit issues (same as above)with no problem. They appear to be swamped, and have little/no customer service support team except for here.

Re: Cryptsy has now made MCXNow look like a class act
by

Yeah I'm sure it had nothing to do with RS selling millions in fee shares just weeks before shutting down.

Cryptsy may have serious problems, but spinning this to make RS look like a saint is fucking hilarious.

I think you are missing some details. RS has not taken off. If he was fleeing with the funds, it would have happened by now. He is actively working on the next version of his site.

Also never said RS was a Saint. I agree that would be hilarious, just like anyone saying Cryptsy has integrity today.

Ok, I get it. Cryptsy had to fall pretty far to make MCXnow look good. Jesus, crypto is messed up. Where are the professionals here? If Cryptsy was a bigger company, heads would have rolled by now. But we need to hope they get their shit together or where will we trade our "lesser" coins? We need to start forum trading more like the old days, build a rep, use escrow...profit? I know it's a scammer's haven, but people need to use the tools available.

Unfortunately, I'm mostly staying on the sidelines until this is fixed. And I love how Vern tweets about fixing the chatbox, like that matters.

We need rather a company with LARGE pockets to create an exchange that can handle 100,000's of active traders that can scale to millions at a reasonable rate. Will this happen? i hope so. The potential revenue for them would be huge. I think cryptsy will come through this, but there will be a next time and and next time this happens. Who knows if it is the cost of keeping servers redundant or if the site simply does not scale easily.  If they cut api off, banned bots and terminated idle sessions after a short period perhaps they can get back to normal sooner.

Even better than the above, multiple exchanges like cryptsy. If nobody else can step up then why can they not clone it to another domain and run another exchange, maybe it is just too much for one db and is complex for loadbalancing or virtualisation  to handle all those coins and all of those transactions?  The task they are facing must be huge i mean really huge. The db queries must be mad.

I wish Scottrade would get into this...I would not even mind paying $8.00/trade if I felt sure the site wasn't going to give a Bad Gateway error every time I tried to make a trade

Re: My MtGox account hacked... Lost $60,000... :'(

lindatess,

Thanks you so much for your suggesting, this has been the most helpful so far, I'm currently gathering all the evidence i have and have spoken to my local state police assitance line who will refer me to the Australian Federal Police.

I will keep the thread updated as events develop.

Thank you for all your kind words so far guys, I really hope I can get something back. Or have these criminals put away for a long time to prevent them hacking anyone elses account.

Yeah, they washed the money on the other side of the bid/ask spread. Effectively, earning the spread each time the transaction was conducted.

This leaves no paper trail, or so they think, if you request the transaction history and check who was on the other side of the transaction, you may have a case. In fact it might help if you know Japanese or are connected to someone involved with mtgox. From what it looks like the hacker was on the other side of the transaction.

Otherwise they were giving away free money to random people <<< Very unlikely.

So, Looks like you might be able with a warrant (Japanese Authorities required) to take a look at the data. Take a look into it.

I'm pretty sure RUB/BTC is not traded often on mtgox, so the hacker definitely knows their bitcoin knowledge. The same I've seen with AUD/BTC, which would guarantee that the hacker actually got the money on the other side of the trade if no one else was trading in that currency pair.

But if I have anything to say, I expect the hacker to be in jail within a few months if you follow my methodology.

As you can see the volume is almost always zero.

https://www.mtgox.com/?Currency=RUB

Go for it, you will get your money back, or in a weak case, send the hacker to jail, as they require real information to withdraw from mtgox!!!!

As you can see on December 9th there was a huge rise in volume as the hacker tried to wash the funds.

My guess it's someone who knows their Finance and Information Security. Luckily I love these two areas myself and understand how the hacker has slipped up. He/She will be in jail soon, don't worry about it, but hurry up and get a police report, get translators to help with mtgox paperwork, and get mtgox to block the wire transfer on the other side, otherwise the other person might flee to the Cayman Islands or some non-extradition country.

I mean, I've seen a lot of dumb hackers throughout my life, but this person who stole your money is probably an idiot.

This is fascinating, what idiots!! Please keep us posted and all the best of good luck in trying to solve this matter and get those fools caught! I am so sorry you are having to go through this but I hope your diligence pays off!!! All the best

Hi,

Your response to your ticket/support system is extremely slow. It has been almost 2 weeks since I placed my sizable USD deposit and it has not been credited to my account. Can you please update my ticket RJB-982-93189. I have supplied all my information and my Swift copy. Will I have to endure this kind of service every time I make a deposit with your company?

Thanks for crediting my account :-) But you are not out the woods yet. Now my funds has a "Money hold. 715 hours left" when I try to transfer my bitcoins. I already sent my ID and verification documents 2 Weeks ago via ticket SXZ-719-66445. Please help clear up this last hurdle. My ID documents has already been verified.

Just to update. My account was finally unlocked today with my money. I ONLY had to wait for it 16 days, open 3 tickets, submit wire transfer receipts, have over 2% deducted, send ID and address documents 3 times and post in this forum.

Lol, Mine was too, thank goodness, glad we got it done here finally...and I will never wire money this way again, was way too scary and frustrating- from now on its the Coinbase route, simply doing BTC transfers to BTC-e
