Re: Why does people so much attached to free money?
by
kingstep
on 27/08/2025, 13:06:32 UTC
If people will avoid anything that just comes without you doing anything at all, most of these scam stories will reduce. nothing good comes on a platter of gold, before you get something, you have to work for it and crypto is not an exception. maybe it is because some still see crypto as one Ponzi scheme that the smart earns from that gives them the impression that all those sort of fake promise can yield them any returns even when they have done literally nothing.

No matter the hype around any coin, and no matter how much coin one has, it is very rare before you see someone just throwing it into thine air as a way of doing giveaway or anything of such. free money is not impossible to come across sometimes but it is mostly a trick that gets you to pay even for more.

Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell?
by

on 25/08/2025, 12:44:08 UTC
Based on Bitcoin price analysis it's now clear that in future it will go more up from here. Their is nothing to worry if Bitcoin over 100k take a dip of 10k or even more. What's our concern should be that are we ready for 200k or 500k which Bitcoin will hit in few years. Our readiness for such high price is how much we have accumulated at lower prices. If we set our price target of 250k, then imagine how much profit you will get if you have bought Bitcoin bought at current price.

I think you are over exaggerating because no matter how volatile Bitcoin is, I don't believe it can dip to $10k again unless it has lost it potential and if Bitcoin should dip to that amount even the big whales and every other investor will began to fear, you personally will be moved so don't even think of such Dip because that's craze. There will be Dip yes because Bitcoin is dynamic in nature but regardless we should take our investment serious and make best out of this moment we are seeing using our discretionary and hope for the best in the future.

What I was trying to say in my earlier post is that as long as price of Bitcoin is over 100k then a decrease of 10,000$ wont be a big concern. Like few days back price of Bitcoin was 124k and now it's at 112k, this means price has gone by 12k. We must not be worried about such small decrease.

The other scenario is that if Bitcoin price goes down below 100k to 90k or 80 then we can say price has gone down significantly. In that situation it's best to take a break and hodl your Bitcoin. No need to panic because price of Bitcoin will eventually recover in the long run.
I agree with you. In fact, it is a very common thing for Bitcoin's price to fluctuate. And even if it drops a lot, there is no problem. In the past, the price dropped a lot. Later, it turned around. In 2017, the price was around $20k, later the price decreased and was approaching $3k. In 2021, the price was around $69k. In this way, the price rose a lot, and after a long time, today in 2025, the price of Bitcoin is above 110k.
Past price drops and later gains of bitcoin are there to stand as things to learn from and know that the fluctuation in the price of bitcoin is never an indication that bitcoin is in it worse state. the fluctuation only shows bitcoin as a volatile asset that experiences all this kind of movement and with time will still gain and grow past such downward fluctuation. even if bitcoin goes bellow $100k, it does not make bitcoin any worse, we can still buy at that time because bitcoin is still a safe haven bellow $100k

Selling bitcoin just when bitcoin goes down is not a good investment plan. The ''what  if" brings fear to investors and cause them to make wrong investment decision by selling because they answer the "what if" question the wrong way. instead of selling because of the thought that, "what if" bitcoin goes down and never goes up again, it is better to ask a rather better "what if" question which can go thus; "what if this is the lowest bitcoin can get to before it goes really high?" another can be, "what if this is just an opportunity for me to buy at a decent price?

we all have our moment of panic especially knowing that we are mostly newbies that are just learning and investing. but from the basic knowledge that says that bitcoin is a volatile asset, there is every encouragement in it to keep holding even in times of fluctuation.

Re: Money is hard to get ,but easy to spend.

That is generally how life works. it takes more effort to build than it takes to pull down. same way if you want to become a rich person it will take time, discipline, series of effort all put together before you can get to the top but when it comes to scattering, it does not take so much. just a simple bad decision is enough to destroy all the things you have spend so much time building.

hard to come, easy to go. that is the way things work in life in general. and that is why it is necessary that no matter how much you have, you ensure that you are very careful with your spending else, bit by bit the fortune you have managed to keep goes down into thine air without knowing how it even happened.

Re: Solutions to our financial plight.
by

on 25/08/2025, 11:47:24 UTC
*Possible solutions
*Restructuring the country economically, educationally and in all other areas.
*Saying NO to foreign rule in an independent and Democratic country like ours.
*Inculcating youths in the leadership structure of the country.
this is no different from the kind of conversation you here on national televisions like Channels television and so and yet, you do not see the practical application of all the suggestion that political analyst always point out.

when you talk about restructuring, the different regions will give there own definition of restructuring in a manner that suit them. with that, it lands us in a spot where we become more divided than united.

our major problem is that we are more divided than united and so, there is no clear strategy that can work for long without ethnic difference coming in the way. let a youth that has goodwill come out tomorrow for a particular political position, people will vote him down and choose an old man that is of their ethnic origin.

indigenous old leaders have even caused more harm to the Nigerian economy that foreign influence we have hard.

Invest now and Expect positive returns this year, is it a red flag?
by
kingstep
on 22/08/2025, 18:20:35 UTC
The year is almost in it last quarter with few months to go but for bitcoin, investing now is not too late.

There are lots of suggestions pointing to the possibility of bitcoin getting to $250k by the end of the year, how realistic is that speculation?

If bitcoin can get to $250k by December, then buying now in view of getting returns by the end of the year isn't a bad investment plan. Is such a plan a good one or a red flag?

Re: A threat or good development?
by

Is this even a good development, or will it expose people's financial activities related to cryptocurrency?
We lack continuity as a nation so that's the first issue with choosing to use our banking system for P2P transaction if it gets approved. Government can just change and then everything change with a new administration being completely against crypto, what that will do generally is that it will place those using such exchanges at a risk of having Thier account frozen or in a worse of scenarios having them being called for questioning which is a major setback for most investor.

I will go for an exchange that has high reputation to one that's an homebase exchange. It might look like you're not supporting your local exchange but it generally will take time before a complete sense of trust will be there when it comes to being completely open while dealing with our local exchanges let alone the banks.

Re: I "Doff my hat" for Satoshi

Satoshi must know that Bitcoin will later become a store of value because he made the supply to be limited. With all humility I believe that Bitcoin can outlive us and it is an asset that we can pass down to our future generations. What do you think about Satoshi and his/ her/their Bitcoin creation?
In every generation, God drops an idea into mans heart that helps makes humans comfortable and for Satoshi, he or they have succesfully written there names in the sand of time such that as long as life is concerned, this invention, BTC will continue to be relevant and the name Satoshi will never be forgoten as long as discussion of the world finance is concerned.

Do you know that it is possible that someone also had similar idea like Satoshi but was not bold enough to act upon it because of the resistance that comes with this kind of invention? Satoshi is a blessing to us all both on the forum and off it.

Crypto
Had a rough idea about crypto through ads and eventually got in through aidrops. earned some coins through that means and following up the compulsary task i had to do in the process of hunting for aidrop, that became the foundation that gave me a start into crypto. somehow found this bitcoin forum and still reading through content on the forum. thus far i must say that it is becoming easier dotting all the "I's" and crossing all the "T's". still working on the investment part, hopefully, everything will make sense with time.

Re: The volatility of Bitcoin; A merit or Demerit?
by
kingstep
on 20/08/2025, 14:45:25 UTC
The volatility (persistent changes in the price of Bitcoin) has drawn a lot of attention, and will continue to. The consequences surely has it's merits and demerits; to various users. To the trader, and investor respectively. Do the merits outweigh the demerits? Would a less volatile nature draw more usage?
No asset lacks volatillity. the extent might differ but all of them experience volatility in their own way.

if bitcoin was not volatile, maybe it would have remained down and might not have worth what it currently worth. if it was too volatile,  investors would not have considered it to be an asset class because investors gets interested in asset that stands to give them profit.

The pros will now be that bitcoins volatillity brings more investors into buying it. the cons can be that the fear that bitcoin might go down because of volatility will hinder fearful investors from buying bitcoin. the ballance still makes the pros higher than the cons.

Re: What happens when there is no more Bitcoin available to buy?
by
kingstep
on 20/08/2025, 14:29:52 UTC
With so many people around the world buying Bitcoin, it’s like a city’s power supply system suddenly collapsing. I can’t imagine it. What do you think?
This can only happen if the sell option is disabled such that no one can sell his bitcoin but can only buy. if that happens then we can say that a poit can reach when all the 21 milion bitcoin that is in circulation can be completely bought. but such is just possible in theory, in reality, as more people are willing to keep buy, others are always ready to sell. that is why we have a lot of buys and sells via exchages everyday. the principle behind the circulation of every medium of exchage works such that just one million can continue to circulate among people without becoming scarce as long as people are ready to spend.

The first suspect for a case as this is usually someon that is working in the bank and has access to your private information. they can sell your personal data to cyber criminals who will do the calling.

The second suspect that leaks your bank information can be the platforrms you have submitted your bank deatils to like a loan app, an employment site or maybe some of these government grants that usually ask you for your peersonal information. because we want to get those grants, we rush to give them our private information including our name, bank details and even bvn. that is another means our information goes outside.

Third could be the phising link you click knowingly or unknowingly. majority of the links running on the media is corrput and can be used to fetch your data. hackers and cyber theft can also use them to get your personal information.

JUST KNOW THAT YOUR DATA IS NOT SAFE ANY LONGER. YOUR ACCOUNT NAME, YOUR BANK, YOUR BVN AND EVEN YOUR NIN CAN BE EASILY GOTTEN FOR SOMANY SITES. the solution is just to secure your account so strong that even with those information, it becomes deficult to steal your money.

Re: How the hardship has affected the growth of youths.
by

on 06/08/2025, 12:53:20 UTC
When trying to talk about the Nigerian crisis there is no need to bring up names like VDM because there are two sides to this you see him as this person you need people like while other think he has a bad side. Let's not bring this social media discussion to the forum.
no matter the aspect of VDM you bring out, it does not take out the important part which is that he has been a strong advocate for a better Nigeria where the voice of the youths is hard. when we see a man that stand strong on what is right, lets forget our differences and call a spade, a spade.

the politician and our bad leaders deliberately want to leave the youth in poverty so when the youths are given the slightest penny, it can become easy for them to be manipulated and used to carry out their bidding. how many youths that are living very comfortable will allow himself to become a tool in the hands of our politician? when hunger hits and you are left with the help gotten from politician as your only rout from poverty, you just find yourself running back to them against whatever your conscience stands against. that is what the likes of VDM has managed to overcome which has given him the boldness to call peoples names out.

Re: The Big Three Problems
by

on 01/08/2025, 19:52:03 UTC
except you are looking for an ideal society where things are done the way it naturally ought to be done, then your expectation can be mate if not, there will always be a clear imperfection in what the society stands for. the rich will always rule over the poor, the politically relevant ones will always have an upper hand in the society and do things and goes cut free. the right of the poor will always be denied him while the rich and the politically relevant once commits crime and still walk freely in the society.

sadly, this is the unfortunate situation the nation finds themselves in and even when you look at the difference between developing and the already developed nations, the third world countries are made to live at the mercy of these elite nation because the society does not deal what anything that looks like an ideal world. even with regard the way nature distribute resources to different part of the world, you might find some part being more blessed over others, how much more us mortals that are naturally selfish?

the big problem is that we are mere mortals that are just trying to survive and nothing more. the laws and institution we now come to abide by where created by same us mortals based on what suites them that created it. it is just a game for the survival of the fittest, there is no point of attaching emotions to it or expecting that an ideal society will be possible.

We Nigerians want to live together as brothers. We want to see Nigeria as a safe country.
when you look at the way an average northerner thinks and views life compared to the way most of the southerners and westerners look at life and values life, it clearly shows our divers we areas a nation.  the average Fulani man is ready to kill anybody that comes in the way of his cow and can burn down a whole community just because of few cows but that is never possible for other part of the nation that values human life life over any other thing. even with government regulation, our differences in believe system makes it really hard for us to live together in unity.

if it is not the Fulani's killing farmers, it will be the easterners carrying out one bad act or the other. these all shows that what separate us is far more than what binds us together. until an ideology of oneness sinks really deep in our minds such that all of us sees ourselves as one, we are going to continue seeing this kind of killings in greater dimension.

by

on 01/08/2025, 19:21:30 UTC
once you can cope with the volatility of bitcoin and not get frustrated anytime bitcoin DIPs, then bitcoin is for you because it shows that you can cope with bitcoin price fluctuation and never make a wrong investment decision regardless of how bad the price of bitcoin gets to. once you are able to get that right and understand basic fundamentals of bitcoin investment, you will not face so much challenge challenge along your investment journey.

bitcoin is for everyone and everyone and anyone can own bitcoin but not everyone is capable of coping with the volatility of bitcoin. it is the reason why people easily get frustrated and afraid when there are news that gives an indication that bitcoin is going to drop down within a certain period of time. as long as you can manage your emotions regardless of how volatile bitcoin is, you can also deal with other things like safety and security measures since they are kind of the basic things one learns first before buying bitcoin.

there is no crime in selling your bitcoin either to buy back or to use it in solving your needs. is it not your investment? why should you not sell it when there is a need to? if after buying your coin you continue holding without selling, of what purpose is it to you? if i one can only buy bitcoin and can not sell it when he dims it fit to, then there is no point in buying it at all.

Re: No Be Wallet Dey Secure Your Funds, Na Seed Phrase
by
kingstep
on 28/07/2025, 15:47:00 UTC
My Final Words for this tori be say wallet apps fit stop work or even vanish from play/app store, hardware wallet fit old or spoil da one sef dey, but ur seed phrase wey be the master- key go still remain valid as long as blockchain still dey alive.
What happens when you store your coin in an exchange that ends up being hacked? What will then be the use of your seed phrase? Seed phrase is important but as much as it's important, the wallet one uses is also important.

There's not supposed to be a comparison between seed phrase and wallet because all wallet have seed phrase but not all wallet are secured which makes it necessary that one choose the right wallet that's safest and isn't subsciptible to hack. Hardware wallet gives you full control of your coin but if you're using anyhow wallet like a random exchange, it's as if you're giving the exchange the right over your coin.

Re: Parents who send their kids to public schools are child abusers.
by

on 22/07/2025, 12:59:35 UTC
If not for the lack of maintenance culture and the lack of proper investment into the public sector, would it have degenerated to the point where schooling in a public school that's built by tax payers money becomes a disadvantage?

People's financial status differs and with how expensive private schools are, not all parents can afford to spend such amount of money for Thier kids to get such education when they can pay a lesser amount for a public school that offers same service and use what's almost like the same curriculum. Would you rather have a parent spend all his earning on a child's school fees and find it deficult to take care of the families needs when public schools that are cheap can be a good options combined with other things like paying for the child's private lesson fee and purchasing of good text book for the kids?

Most private schools are just sophisticated centres that lacks a lot of real learning aids compared to what an intentional parent can bring out of a child that's attending a public school and still has access to good text books and private lesson teacher that will also be of great help to the child.

Re: What Does "Being Rich" Even Mean Anymore?
by
kingstep
on 22/07/2025, 12:18:14 UTC
Being rich means not going to work because you don't have a choice or because if you can't go that you can't eat or take care of yourself. It is a state whereby you're able to meet all your major needs and can leave comfortably to the extent of extending an helping hands to others that might not be as privileged as yourself.

You must not have too much to be in competition with anybody before you can be tagged rich. As long as your income can solve all your needs, then you're rich. The state of being rich might not grant you happiness but it sure gives you the calmness that comes with solving all your financial needs by yourself without seeking any helpt from a third party.
