Thanks, is the hacker trying to get more bitcoins for his remaining Nxt?

nobody knows other than the hacker and bter most likely. BTER's NXT account hasn't been funded by the hacker beyond the 42M and the hackers BTC account is still the same (he seemed to have moved his funds though).

Update on the last 8million NXT? Did Bter receive it?

Bter must be rich to absorb the 330 BTC payout.

This guy seems to know about the last 8million NXT, but I don't know where he got his information from.

the hacker gave back 42M of the 50M NXT to BTER in exchange for 330btc(440btc total) that was given by BTER.

Hacker left before the last 8M NXT was given back, but that won't hurt NXT anywhere near as the 45M NXT that was stolen.

Hacker "thesir" stated he believed in NXT and would hold it at least a year, before thinking of selling.

from the nxtforums, this was prior to giving most of the NXT back to BTER https://nxtforum.org/news-and-announcements/three-solutions-proposed-by-bter-com-(200btc-deal-or-310btc-bounty-or-fork)/msg84831/#msg84831

you are from Chojnice, Poland?
No. Right now - I'm from Hamilton, Canada.

An unexpected supporter of the no-fork proponents  Shocked

Indeed.

You have a counter-offer?
At least double it.

Whole 55mil NXT might not be worth 1.8mil right now, or next 6 months... but even me holding it - I don't see why it couldn't be back to 1.8mil in a year. I believe in NXT! Smiley

I don't need to get ride of them out any time soon, they can sit there..

If forks happens, then it happens. I eat my losses.

Either case - 200 BTC does't satisfy me.

How to receive NEMCOIN Huh

If you have a NEMstake

Quote
3. Conversion of NEMstake tokens to NEM: Owners of NEMstake tokens need to send the total amount of tokens he owns back to the issuer (my issuing account) and put his NEM address in the "comment" field of the transaction to receive the corresponding amount of NEM in the receiving address. Caution: you could lose your share if you don't put in the correct NEM address in the "comment" field.

Isn't it too late to do that temporary roll back or whatever?
That means it is too late for NXT as well. I wonder what the hacker will do, manipulate the market or sell off.

LaudaM, you love to spread your shit all over the forum. I didnt read yet any comment from you that shows a minimum of intelligence.

Although you know that the hacker gave back most of the NXT to Bter, you continue spreading FUD and lies.... Roll Eyes

How much did they give back? I heard they got back the 5 million. Anything else did they get back?

the hacker gave back 42M of the 50M NXT to BTER in exchange for 330btc(440btc total) that was given by BTER.

´What's unethical about paying for services?  If an exchange wants to list it and the payment amount is reasonable, why not?

Paying is OK, the bidder contest is wrong.

Anyway, we need 3000 votes asap. https://www.mintpal.com/voting

Doesn't matter IMO. What's another exchange for NXT. mintpal is a good exchange but it would likely be low on the prominence level compared to Cryptsy, etc. with a low amount of volume.

Plus we would likely just be added tomorrow or something even though we have a coin beating us, unless some of the altcoins start putting in more money.

Etherium is in the same park as NXT and Ripple. Average Joe will just not understand it. The only people who are really getting excited about these are the techies and investors. I can just about explain BTC to Joe Bloggs, but they wouldn't get these types of currencies at all. They fail because not because they aren't clever or unique or innovative, but because you have to be in the industry to understand them. Your average person on the street has no clue how fiat currency works. How can you expect them to understand Ether?

Dogecoin on the other hand, as ridiculous as it may be, has brought cryptocurrency to the masses. People get it. It doesn't matter how clever your platform is if you can't appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Bingo! You win. "Best post today" award if there were awards.

This is the exact problems I have had so far with Etherium, NXT and Ripple just too much trouble to use.

The general consumer just wants to go hey i get it and use it, maybe they are targeting different types of users.

This is the problem that all people will face, it is to demanding to understand how it works and how is different. But next and ripple are just scams, at least dogecoin who is also an inflationary coin doesn't promote devaluation and centralization as these 2 + they reach to the masses with a correct attitude. If you would understand that because of inflation and centralization of fiat the world economy is going down, would you buy into a altcoin that follows the same basic principles but has all sort of cool features? plus there is always the possibility of human error in the code, where as fiat is a piece of paper, it is or it isn't, very easy to evaluate if it is damaged, fake etc.

If you want people to use a altcoins as a base for money transactions, an altcoin must have enough of coins for everyone, must be super simple to understand, implement, trade, must be very transparent so that people can trust the developers and etc., must be catchy and not to be be considered as a commodity like precious metals etc.

The question is, how many coins fill these criteria?

"at least dogecoin who is also an inflationary coin doesn't promote devaluation and centralization"

Really?  It doesn't lead to centralization?  lol

Do you know how PoW chains are secured?

I've talked bullshit, I know. I'm researching to find a better way of coin distribution. I don't like NXT because of this. What do you propose?

Have you ever looked at how well bitcoin or LiteCoin are distributed currently? NXT currently has better distribution than both of them.

I got the wallet working, but the official faucet kept giving me an error. I also probably didn't create a particularly strong password.

Any recommendations on what level of password strength/entropy are required for a sufficiently strong password?

I'm merely curious about NXT. I'd like to see what I could do with it. I actually know some Java but never really had any incentive to keep learning it.

well my password is on the level of AD!e1wdsa$T#%345rdsfjhtUYgFHY!!`1264514mGBndsffdawDSAdrtvju^3651$%$%$sd (not my real password btw...just an example) ...  Tongue

Hopefully that type of style of password is random and strong enough...I tried making it as random as possible...

I support the opinion of pastmast3r.
Well I know, that I'm writing not so often as other people does.
I started in december, so in this case of NEM I am a veteran.

But I think it won't be a good idea to separate and penalize new bitcointalk-members just for beeing NEW and registered at a later date than we registered.

This will definitively go against the fundamentals of equality and so against NEM !!!!
Correct me, if I'm wrong !!

I think its fine as long as the accounts funding account doesn't have 10+ of the same transactions going to NEM. With all of them being accounts created post NEM starting date. Once you get to that point its not"fair" for all the people who have taken part in the registration process.

As Utopian stated one will be guilty until proven innocent in the case of a new account. Which I feel is completely fair.

I have mailed to ask why NXT is not on it.

ada.vainik@outlook.com

Pin

wonder what it would connect to....

It's not built on any of the BTC/LTC/etc source code...so...would it have its own little dot in the outer edge?  Huh

Or would it connect to BTC because it started the crypto revolution  Tongue?

ps...give fmiboy the bounty!!!  Grin

I want to inform you all that bter indeed sent me my 100k already. Thanks for all that helped. So basically the drone in charge of support@bter.com cannot access any information and simply replies out of thier ass, After serious emails back and forth and many information submitted by from thier own systems, They gave in and actually forwarded my complain to the people in charge, was solved a couple of hours afterwards.

congrats Smiley

I guess that we can solve the "latin issue" only by voting.

Smiley

vox populi - "voice of the people". Short non-prearranged interview with an ordinary person (e.g. on the street); sometimes shortened to "vox pop".

Vox populi actually makes sense, at least to me.

But I like many suggestions.

Also "Totum maior summa partum."  The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts (because NXT has many features and because it's has a community that works in synergy)

reminds me of Bioshock Infinite...lol Grin

Centralization is an issue. How do we counteract?

Pooled forging / leasing forging power will be great for that. Coming with account control features, iirc.

But why is pooling aka centralization good?

I would like many nodes rather than a few.

pooled forging is to help the people that can't forge much alone.

This isn't send all your NXT to a single account which in general creates more a forging chance; but instead the nxt accounts all a part of the pool just lease forging power to the pool without giving any NXT to them outright. So don't think we would be giving up nodes  Huh

Unless I understand the whole thing wrong  Tongue
