Re: [WTS] Casascius 2012 Brass 1 BTC (loaded)
by

sadly, the casascius market is in a bit of a slump lately,  espescially with the massive USD premiums they gained. Now, theres auctions often finishing around 1.2btc for a brass coin (which is barely above bch+btc+btg value)

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, definitely seems like this is a poor time to be selling Casascius coins ... demand just isn't there. Certainly not going to be selling these at a loss (e.g. anything below "peel value").

Will still consider any realistic offers PM'd to me.

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Based on the PM's I've received, clearly there is some interest! A few questions:

  • Anyone near Portland, Oregon (USA) and interested in an in-person transaction? (if so, PM me a realistic offer that makes me go "wow" and I'll meet with you tomorrow ... or even tonight)
  • Does anyone know what similar coins have sold for recently? I consider these to be in very good condition, so I had always assumed these would go for at least 1.5x peel value.
  • What is the general auction format for something like this? How long is the typical auction?

And a few points of clarification:
  • I will not be auctioning these off all at the same time. If at all, they will be auctioned one at a time.
  • The picture is just a sampling of my inventory - sorry if I implied that was total inventory and/or that they were all up for immediate sale. Post was intended to gauge interest and show general quality of my supply.

[WTS] Casascius 2012 Brass 1 BTC (loaded)
by

I have numerous Casascius 2012 Brass 1 BTC coins that I'm considering selling. These have been in protective cases and are in great condition, though I've never had them officially graded.

Is there any interest in these coins? Please reply and let me know - I might start an auction or sell outright if I see a great offer.

I have a reputation on here for successfully hosting/completing numerous group buys back in the day (USB Block Erupters, etc) so hopefully that reputation speaks for itself!

Is this service still active? I sent a small amount today to test it out, and still haven't seen it arrive after a couple hours. I do see that the address the website provided me still has the balance, though. It just hasn't been forwarded on yet.

I'll try to PM you with tx specifics.

EDIT: forwarded tx finally came through after another couple hours. Far from instant, but could be due to tx-mall bloat today.

Unit must be sealed and brand new. I will pay escrow fee if you desire the use of escrow.

That's like $800 what a rip.

For the record, I do not expect to get a PS4 shipped overnight for $400 ... or less than $500. This specific offer was a bit higher than I expected, but I certainly appreciate anyone willing to make me an offer here. It's my own fault for not placing a preorder in a timely manner and I expect to pay a small premium for that mistake.

PS4 has been acquired. Thanks!

Do you have an extra PS4 that you're going to be getting on launch day or are you willing to part with your unopened PS4 on launch day for a little profit?

If so, let me know. I saw an offer on here for someone willing to ship their launch day PS4 overnight for cost +$200 (i.e. $600 in BTC). After reviewing that user's feedback ... well, there's a reason I'm making my own post here.

If you can hook up the K-man, let me know!

Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold, Silver, & Platinum for Bitcoins

Just wanted to update - after talking with Amagi about my order, we found out one of the coins was out of stock. Changed it for another coin and my whole order shipped immediately and arrived a couple days later. While I would have loved to had been informed when an in-stock coin I ordered went out-of-stock and held up my order, I have to say Amagi customer service is top notch.

I would have no hesitation ordering from this company again. Gorgeous products, fast shipping, and competitive prices. Thanks Amagi!

Do you also sell humidors?
Are you looking to purchase cigars with a humidor? I have about 16 humidors that hold anywhere from 75-150 cigars each before I built my walk in humidor.

I would love to see pictures of these humidors! Also in need.

I have responded to your e-mail. My apologies for not seeing/getting the first e-mail before the weekend.

No worries - I appreciate the quality control on those coins and understand the delay it caused. Just to confirm, is "support@" the best support email? Thanks!!

Re: BUYING GOLD WITH BITCOINS?
by
kosmokramer

Really, is it that bad? :O

With Coinabul? Yes. Granted, my last order with them was 6-12 months ago, but according to recent reddit posts, they are still struggling to meet expectations.

The TL;DR of my Coinabul experience was that I placed several orders of gold/silver inventory that was listed as "in-stock". I even called them before each order verifying that every item I wanted was in-stock and would ship asap. I then proceeded to wait months and months with the only contact being calls/emails initiated by me; they would proceed to tell me "it should ship any day" ... and I would call the next week and hear the same thing. I spoke with Jon Holmquist nearly every time and he seemed absolutely powerless to do anything about my order. I feel like he was a scapegoat for many problems, poor guy. He ended up leaving Coinabul this spring I believe, and I have a hunch it was due to the fact that he wasn't comfortable with the way they did business. He seemed like a good guy stuck in a bad position.

They refused to refund me stating there is no point when it's about to ship. I waited, and waited, and waited, until I finally received products that were nothing like what I ordered. While they did throw in an extra ounce or two of silver, it was the worst junk silver I've personally seen. It looked like it had been robbed from someone's house ... bars branded with sayings like "Happy birthday Mary - 1982" or "Happy Hanukkah 1976". When I complained that I was unsatisfied with the condition, Jay told me to clean it, and that I should be happy that he gave me an ounce or two extra.

I will refrain from leaving any sort of review for Amagi until I actually hear back from their support and see what they deliver. I've heard great things, but my order has now been stuck at "Payment Received" for a week and a half with no further update ... it's starting to feel a lot like Coinabul and I'm hoping they're just busy or this is an isolated issue with something I ordered. Either way, I sure wish they would communicate better :/

CHM, you are amazing. The amount of information you've given me in PM in the past couple of days just shows how truly passionate you are. I'm excited to see the sampler pack you're recommending and will certainly return to leave feedback of my first transaction with you.

Thanks so much for your honesty and prompt communication - happy to give you my business Wink

I purchased several large orders of gold and silver from Coinabul in the past. I was extremely disappointed with all of my transactions.

I had heard such great things about Amagi Metals, but I'm now in the middle of a large purchase with them and they're not meeting my expectations. Hoping their support can work things out on my silver order soon that's now going on a week and a half :/

I guess I'll have to try Agora next to see how they compare.

I don't think my expectations are that high; just prompt shipping (less than a week) for items that are listed as in-stock and receiving the items in "as advertised" condition!

Agora: how would you handle a situation where a customer orders items that are advertised as in-stock, but then are found to be out-of-stock soon after? Do you have a standard procedure for this situation?

It's been 7+ business days since I placed my order (paid in BTC immediately) and this doesn't seem consistent with the shipping times you've been stating. I was pretty careful not to order anything pre-ordered or out-of-stock as I was hoping my order would ship promptly.

After reviewing this order, I see that all of the items I paid for are still listed as "in-stock" on your website except for a single Bradley Manning coin I purchased as a novelty. In fact, I can't even find that coin on your site now. I won't know if this is what is holding up my order until you respond, but if it's true, I'm a bit set aback that I've waited this long without a single word from anyone about the reason for the delay (or that it was even delayed). I would have gladly dropped that coin or substituted for something else. I'm positive that item was listed as "in-stock" when ordered.

In the event inventory availability changes after receiving paid orders for said inventory, I would encourage you to promptly inform customers so they can make the decision on how to proceed.

That is the exact issue I was plagued with when purchasing from Coinabul in the past; my orders for in-stock items were delayed for months without a single update that they were even delayed or why they were delayed. The sad part is that even after waiting months, they almost always ended up not being able to get the items I waited so long for (instead I would get junk silver as a substitute). Still hoping my experience with you ends up different!

We ship within 1-5 business days after the 6 day waiting period is over for the check payment. If you'd like a specific answer, please feel free to e-mail us a info@amagimetals.com.

I guess now the next question is, what is the typical turnaround for a support email? When inquiring about my order in this thread, I was promptly referred to email "info@amagimetals.com" for order-specific support, but haven't received a reply since (2-3 days) ... are you sure you didn't mean "support@amagimetals.com"??

I guess I can call during your next business day, but I just assumed email support was best since that's where I was referred. Should I be calling instead of emailing?

Just trying to figure out where my order stands and get an ETA; it's still stuck on "Received Payment" after a week and a half.

Please advise.
