It was an important win to take for Valencia above all else. Because they were quite close to the relegation field and they needed to find a way to get away from there. Real Madrid didn't have any big target to achieve in the league so I'm not very surprised with this result. But of course one can say that Real Madrid could still have won this match while they were controlling the ball mostly. But having a big percentage of ball possession isn't always enough to win a match in football. This was a solid example for that.
Since the defeat to Man city Real Madrid has gotten worse, the loss to Velencia has made Real Madrid drop to third in the league standings, one point away from Atcletico Madrid, who is in second place. For Valencia itself, this victory kept them safe from the relegation zone, overall the game was very tight, but the Velencia goalkeeper played really great in that match.
Velencia scored in the 33rd minute, Jose Gaya got the ball on the left and he played Justin Kluivert in the box. He passed a real madrid defender before crossing for Diego Lopez, he just effortlessly kicked the ball from close range. Valencia is a great club and has a long history in the league and does not deserve relegation.
Besides we watched two different halves as well. In the first half despite the ball possession rates Valencia had many more goal attempts and this helped them score. Real Madrid took full control in the match in the second half but it didn't change anything. This wa a horrible match for especially Vinicius Junior and that red card was a bad ending.
I don't understand why the referee gave a red card to Vini like that guy really choked him and that's why he slapped him, he won't die when Vini slapped him but Vini can die if he chokes him. Vini has never been triggered by emotions like this when playing in a big European match (UCL). I think LA LIGA needs to take strong action against racists. Because in La Liga, it's not just black wine.
I think if Real Madrid applied pressure from the beginning in La Liga as well as Champions League and played every match responsibly then they could have done well in La Liga. But the team took La Liga lightly and lost both the league titles.
