I wrote a widget called p2poolwidget for android a while back.  I think if you search for p2pool in the google play store it's still the only relevant app you'll find, sadly.  Anyway, I wrote it back when I was mining, which I haven't been doing in a long time, just so I could monitor my setup.  I was trying to learn android programming at the time, so the code is pretty sloppy.  I'd planned to try to improve it over time, but then mining on p2pool started becoming less and less rewarding and mining in general became unprofitable for me soon after, and I just lost interest basically.

So, I haven't made any updates in quite a while.  Then someone emailed me a few weeks ago asking for some changes, and I told them I didn't really have time, and they asked if I would consider open sourcing it.  So I put it up on github a couple of weeks ago.  I was going to wait until they confirmed they were able to get the code to compile, but I'm pretty sure it's all there (if not, sorry, it's first time using github).  So, basically I thought I'd mention it here in case any one in this thread wants to make their own changes.  You should be able to get to it here: https://github.com/ksenter/P2PoolWidget

If you want to release your own version, just give me credit for any of the code, or ideas, of mine that you keep.  Other than that, have at it.  Good luck!

You can overstretch it as run it to the ground or others may try to apply something that isnt even near related.

The phrase explains itself: "stay were we get more return from our hardware." if that is ghash.io? btcguild? slush?.. If its the best for our return, thats where we need to be.

Pure and simple.

Sometimes you have to pull off the bandaid.  If (not saying there's evidence) ghash is using their excessive hashrate to attack other pools, or to do double spends, or other nefarious activities, then it hurts bitcoin.  News of such activities will drive the price of bitcoin down, which gives LRM less buying power for buying new hardware which hurts our returns in the long run.

If they aren't doing anything nefarious, then we should be able to get roughly the same return elsewhere.

If they are and enough people move their hashrate elsewhere then they won't be able to anymore.

I see no harm, and potential benefit to moving.

Back from my week away and 3 hours after I get back, got into a pretty bad car accident.  No one was *seriously* injured.  Just a broken thumb for me and a bit of whiplash for everyone.

I'll try to answer the questions I noticed real quick though. (not fun typing)

Spondoolies are of interest and I'm looking to do something with them.  I can assure you I'm not paying that outrageous price though Wink

BFL: no ship date in sight, but everything is ready for them.  I'm running the numbers to figure out what to expect and see if there is a better way to handle the situation.

GHash no longer has the "bonus" producing equipment on it, but it seems to be producing less coins on other pools....  Something weird with GHash...

Awesome, glad you're off ghash, never have trusted them.   What about p2pool?

Hope you have a speedy recovery from the wreck btw.

I hate blowing dates I've set.  Sorry.

Divs and more info will be done ASAP.  Probably tomorrow.  Zach has been out of town (and away from the cold wallets) and just got back today.

The reasons behind the delay are reasonable, and will be shared shortly.  I can't really say more at this point.

I got that, I was asking if the list will be updated with New Contracts vs. Old so we can confirm Zach has converted us if we asked to do so.  There are no retro bonuses, so it is important to be clear which contract we have if we have asked to move to the new...
I checked with Zach, and he indicated he'd post an updated copy with a contract version column "ASAP".  I suggested he wait until Thursday or Friday, so that any stragglers will be included.

Is this still on target for being posted today?

From the past few days experience.  1) There is no way to answer questions on here reasonably as text becomes misconstrued and the individuals here are either looking to pick a fight or have been screwed over by too many people in the BTC community.  If you would like to email me, feel free at labrat@labratmining.com and if you would like to request a call feel free to do so by the same means.

It appears that the only way to attempt to gain the trust of those who will not listen is to just show people how it's going to be.  Please note that the Bonus will be paid out to all people who have transferred to the New Contract on May 10th and 2) any and all Bonus that has accumulated or will be earned in the future will not be held for any individual.  You will begin receiving the Bonus at that time (if you have already accepted) or the time of your acceptance (if later than May 10th) of the New Contract.

I will be providing a link to the Old Contract exactly as it has existed since the beginning of the company via email, the website, and these forums as well as a transcript of the AMA and a link to the New Contract as soon as they are all prepared.

1) That's just not true. There has been a plethora of clear, concise questions which unfortunately for everyone you chose to ignore while actually responding to the people who are looking to pick a fight. It appears to my simple mind that you may very well be trying to create the misconception that there cannot be any rational discourse here by carefully choosing to reply to emotionally charged posts containing wild exaggerated accusations while ignoring the questions and posts that could clear everything right up. Is it really that hard to see how this leads to ever greater mistrust between you and the bond/shareholders? No it is not. Another reason why I no longer trust you.

2) Please clarify what exactly you mean when you say the bonus will not be held for any individual. Perhaps I misunderstood. Are you saying that whoever doesn't accept the contract change within the next 10 days will forfeit the accumulated bonus and then all subsequent bonuses until complying with your new rules?  PLEASE tell me that you aren't trying to force people into accepting your new terms by way of coercion.

What is your reasoning behind this? WHY in the world should their dividends not be held? And if so what do you plan on doing with the dividends you steal from them by employing this scare tactic? This is rather disconcerting considering the fact that these dividends are right after a large increase in hashrate and will be one of the rare valuable dividends since difficulty will continue to rise....

We are growing VERY tired of being presented with these UNNECESSARY horrible dilemmas. Just hold on to the dividends you owe people UNTIL this is resolved. How difficult is that? Being honest is just as easy as being dishonest. It's a choice. You can still demonstrate your plan without just taking skeptic bond/shareholders money! Just payout whoever still trusts you and decides to move to the new contract the precise amount that is analogous to their rightful share and quit playing games with us...

I completely agree with this.

Labrat, try to put yourself in our shoes.  How would you react to a hardware provider that told you there was a problem with the hardware you had ordered, they couldn't tell you yet what the problem was but they'd get back to you.  And then they went silent for weeks no matter how much you begged for an update.  All you wanted to know was what the problem was, but they refused to tell you.  Then one day they came back with a lawyer and a change to the terms of your order that sounded vaguely like what you originally agreed to, but you weren't really clear on what the differences were, except that it added a clause that you couldn't sue them if they were unable to provide what you originally ordered.  And they told you, you must accept these terms immediately or your order will be cancelled and you will forfeit your down payment.  But they still wouldn't tell you why the terms had to be changed, nor what the problems were.  Would your first reaction be:

1) Oh well, they must know what's best for me.  I guess I'll just agree to it.  I certainly have no reason to doubt them.
2) What the fuck is going on here?Huh  How can they treat me like this?  Why won't they answer any of my legitimate questions?  How can they expect me to blindly trust them after all of this?

This is a bit of an oversimplification.  There are way more issues that just that one.  But just think on that one example.  I have a feeling that if you don't stop treating your early supporters/investors like they're the enemy you're going to find that people are less willing to go along with your desires (even if they actually were what's best for everyone, since they have no way of knowing that) and more willing to say "fuck it, lets burn this shit to the ground".

On a more serious note this situation is a false dichotomy.

Zach is creating the illusion that there are only 2 options for bondholders to chose between. He has named his recent contract change to capped bonds "the original contract" and is claiming that we must chose between the new contract where we have zero guarantees of any sort and the "original" contract which is NOT the original contract.

The refusal to justify any of his scammy behavior by claiming he does not provide legal advice is just comical.

As is already evident by his previous lack of accountability with the 2 week mining for hardware period being extended to pretty much whatever he pleased despite what was agreed upon, unnecessary complete lack of communication, affiliation with BFL, false claims of moving the asset to an exchange, not posting the new contract until the AMA had already started, complete lack of transparency and refusal to answer any meaningful questions it's becoming obvious to almost all of us that Zach cannot be trusted.

As time is progressing Zach is somehow finding him self in control of more and more of our money and we bondholders are finding ourselves in control of less and less of our original investment.

Do we really want to hand over absolute power to this thus far very flaky unreliable person with the knowledge that accepting this false dichotomy may very well be the last we ever see of our money and the beginning of a new very wealthy life for the person that has been deceiving us?

Wholeheartedly agree.

Even if LR is to be honorable the contract does nothing to assure that he will act in good faith. Initial contracts were sold on the promise of growth. True it was stated that contracts would be worth a minimum of 100MH/s and that benchmark was exceeded given the 3 way split. However, there was consistent representation over time from LR that we were growing to more and more MH/s.

Going back on that representation and not contractually assuring dividends from the growth that WE paid for is a betrayal to the initial contract holders. It betrays us in that the destiny of our contracts was misrepresented over the course of several Months. Our funds are not protected under contract to be used as WE intended under the terms originally agreed upon. It's a bait and switch to lock the hash rate.

This 1000 times.  Many of us would not have continued investing if it weren't for the misrepresentation that the value of the bonds would continue to grow.  To say that you fulfilled your obligation of providing at least 100 mhs is disingenuous at best after spending months telling us about all the hardware that would soon be arriving and the deals you were making to increase the hashrate.

There is literally zero chance missing this self-imposed deadline is good news for bond holders

My self imposed timeline says I'll be adding the business side of the document this week...... Where did I slip up?

And it also said SHOULD be done over the weekend.  It wasn't done til late Monday so I'm hurrying to keep the timeline.

You said you'd have an update by Tuesday and then disappeared until Thursday.  You gotta stop doing that if you want people to lighten up on you.

The second attempt went through.  It's still disconcerting that there was no explanation why the first was reversed.  But I'll let it slide this time.  Hopefully this isn't another gox in the making.

unable to withdraw bitcoins from bitstamp
by

I initiated a withdrawal of 1.25 bitcoins from bitstamp last night.  This morning when I checked my account I found that the withdrawal was supposedly successful (although none were delivered to my wallet) but it was followed by a supposed deposit for the same amount a short time later.

So fortunately nothing was lost but I wasn't able to withdraw my bitcoins.  I opened a ticket with them this morning but no word yet.

Has anyone else had this happen?

I have some time while weekend, If you need tester, I am in.

Thanks, Smiley

Thanks!  I'm not quite where I want to be for a beta test.  Almost.  I'll send you a pm with instructions when it's ready for testing.

Dunno if anyone is reading this, but just in case...  I hope to have some time to work on it tonight, assuming I do, and I get it to a semi finished state; does anyone here want to help beta test it for me?

The main differences are:
You can add multiple widgets to the home screen to monitor different pools.
When you tap a widget instead of refreshing it opens a fly out window with additional info and has a refresh button there in case you want to manually refresh.

Im reading this thread Smiley

I tried your widget today. And its kind of working. I use sleipnir.syari.net and i entered my payout address. The widget shows my pending payout, but the hash rate it shows is for the entire node. Is it possible to get it to show only my own hash rate?

/Pete

Thanks for the report.  I'll look into how to show the hash rate based on the payout address.  I'm sure there's a way.  I'll get back to you.

And I'm back...  Sorry for the extended silence, I got fed up with some android development problems I was having and moved on to other projects.  But then recently someone asked for help getting it to work on their kit kat device and I had to setup the newest android development stuff to rebuild it and so I decided to give it another shot.  (Also it didn't hurt that he gave me a pretty generous donation).  Anyway I finally figured out how to get it to do what I wanted.  So there will likely be a new version fairly soon.  I just have to finish my changes and do a lot of testing.  Stay tuned!

No he didn't.  He said he'd attempt to find a way to benefit us.  Maybe he'll offer us a 25% discount on future bond purchases.  That would also qualify as an attempt to benefit us.  As of right now he has not once said he would honor the original agreement of our shares growing proportionally with the company's hashrate.

He also indicated he is having a detailed report on the issue produced and that "I'm doing what's necessary and I believe that the end result will be something everyone can live with."

While it might be nice to have all the information on everything related to LRM the instant it is available, that's just not how business works.  I expect we'll have something concrete within a week or two.

grnbrg.

I don't need, or even strongly desire, a concrete answer right now.  I, and I think most people here, would be perfectly satisfied if he simply committed to continuing the original intent of the "bonds".  All he needs to do is reassure us that we are not stuck with 300 mh permanently, but rather our hash rate value will continue to grow with the company's.

I don't understand why he would suddenly say your bonds are now a fixed hashrate, and then not clarify any of the details, if he intended for us to benefit from the future hashrate growth.  Why say anything at all, he clearly had no problem being silent before now.

I hope he does come back with something better in a couple of weeks.  That would be terrific.  I just don't have my hopes up very high.

I can't provide reassurance without giving information that I can't give until things are in place.  All I can say is that I'm working on the permanent solution and believe I have found a reasonable and legal way to provide over 300MH.

Well that's something I suppose.
