I think this is not a temporary solution, and this solution is better than an exchange.
Simply because exchanges can be scams (mt.gox, btc-e, cryptopia, and many-many others)
So can be otc dealers, as you mentioned before. And escrows. Ultimately unless atomic swap is implemented, any exchange, be it a centralized one or an otc, would be a matter of trust.
And unless otc exchange is somehow automated, it is going to be a lot more busywork than just dumping the coins on exchange and creating a couple of orders.
Also, I do not think, SatoriGold need some listings
Thing is, to have a coin adopted it has to have some use. Who needs just random bytes laying around? You gotta be able to do something with the coins you have.
Having a coin listed on an exchange is one such use; another would be having an ecosystem/platform/whatever using this coin as a primary currency.
Without seeing the roadmap I have no idea about the latter, so..
