wow.   I feel sorry for everyone that bought a PBmining contract.  I put .88 in back in April and gotten .95 out as of today so at least I broke even.
Do you feel sorry enough to donate the extra 0.07 to one of the people that haven't made their money back yet?

hell no.   Does anyone feel sorry for me when I buy in at $600 and it's at $311?  That's the way the game is played.

Here is a quick question.  If another special comes up where existing customers can purchase more GH for a lower price is that offer e-mailed to people, only put in this forum, or ?    Just curious so I can keep a watch out.

I am not sure if there are legal grounds for a lawsuit, but when you think about it, the coin creator did make a false claim.
There were many false stories, certainly.
But is there an actual false statement directly from Harris?
Mostly he seems to have said things like 'designed to be the sovereign currency', which is true.
I don't know if you can actually find his fingerprints on the misinformation.

I don't recall, to be honest. But if you go to the maza website right now, you see this:
First Sovereign National Crypto-Coin In History

How can it be the FIRST sovereign national crypto-coin, if it's not currently a sovereign national crypto-coin?
They probably can get away with it, as I have no idea what legal terms or claims are needed for a lawsuit. But they certainly imply it's an official currency of the tribe.

I'm fairly positive (no proof) that http://maplecoin.cf/ had something up like "Unofficial National Cryptocurrency of Canada" or something similar and was changed a little after to what it says now which is "National Crypto-Currency For Canada And The World."   I bet that AnonymousPirate came up with that wording on the Mazacoin site and it has not been changed since.  It's very misleading and in my opinion, and forgetting about the insane devaluation, why a lot of people are down on this coin.  It's fine to hope that this will be the first coin but the wording makes one believe it IS a sovereign national currency.  It is clearly not as of 3/19/14.  This is why I stopped mining it and why I will not be touching Maplecoin.

I have been using 5 Antminers without problem for the past couple of months with bfgminer.  I've now got a Gridseed 5 chip and have a couple of questions.

Does the current github bfgminer with Gridseed support dual mode?    I would like to run bfgminer with the 5 Antminers plus the sha side of the Gridseed and another instance of bfgminer with scrypt if this is possible.

Cheers

I can't answer your question but am curious about your configuration.  I cannot get my gridseed 5 chip to run either dual or single without it crashing the Pi within 30 minutes.  I've tried various compiles and what knot but no luck.  I'm also headless so I can't see if there are any console errors.  It works perfect in windows but the noise is too much for me to leave running in my room.  Any information on your setup would be great.   I used to have the Pi connected to two hubs with antminers.  Now I just have the Pi connected directly to the Gridseed. Still crashes.

Another forum member told me about this, but what I did was:

Download minepeon 0.2.4.6 the newest version, then image onto a SD CARD - ( figured this be the easiest, since it already has all the dependencies installed)

then download the already compiled version of BFGMiner, and move the bfgminer binary and replace it in /opt/minepeon/bin/ . Then either sudo nano the miner.conf file or go to the browser and type in your minepeon IP ADDRESS and edit the start config there, with:

Code:
#!/bin/bash
sleep 10
/usr/bin/screen -dmS miner sudo /opt/minepeon/bin/bfgminer --scrypt -S gridseed:all --set-device gridseed:clock=850 -c /opt/minepeon/etc/miner.conf

and you should be good to go

EDIT: check out this thread, step by step:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=168174.3000;topicseen

Thanks I'll give it a go tomorrow.  I already have the latest minepeon so it's a matter of getting everything else set up.

for people using raspberry pi's and cgminer... Do you guys get lower hashrate poolside, then what it shows on the cgminer dash? Because with the TPLinks, i get 3500-3700kh/s on 10 units @850 but with cgminer on the Pi, I get 1600-2500 kh/s POOLSIDE, but the cgminer shows the same hashrate as what i am suppose to be getting

It's weird, but I also have 4 plugged into a different pi, same exact config, but it shows proper hash rate pool side and on cgminer.. I'm thinking either the Hubs or something is not fast enough to handle the load, i dont know

Any ideas?

Danny

I'm glad a lot of us can at least agree on the coin's price point needs to be higher in order for this whole endeavor to work. This should be Payu's main concern. Worrying about anything else at this point is moot. The foundation of this project needs to be the coin's price.

Totally agree with you

How could you take a coin that is worth .005 usd now and make it into a currency people want to use?  I think the perfect target would be $1 or at minimum .50.  What could possibly be done to turn it around that much?   The alternative is to use 1000 mazacoins for a hot dog and drink. Most non technical people don't want to do that type of math.

Boxxa claimed he had a lot of coins

We'll he's at least 52k down as of last night.

From twitter..

"Remember to verify your inputs. Just sent 52K MZC to an address I don't have the private key for and it is gone forever."

Everybody say OUCH at the same time.

Re: Mazacoin: don't believe the FUD

I think the real problem here is that very early on, people started saying something to the effect of that the coin was "the first cryptocurrency that will be the official currency of a sovereign nation."

Regardless of who said this first, or whether the developers actually had any part in these claims, it spread like wildfire.

Then it came out that it is supposedly not supported by the main portion of the Native American tribe which is actually recognized by the US Government, but rather by a "splinter group."

I think this simply did the most damage overall and caused a massive panic sell.

The first reports I saw were calling it the official currency.  Not any upcoming or soon to be crypto but the "official" at the time.  We all know that wasn't truthful but only after the first few days after the coin's release.  I still cannot believe just how badly this has tanked in such a short time.

Keep in mind that Payu is single and missing his front teeth.

There's a good chance he's or was a crack pipe smoker.

Do you know how stupid you sound? most 50 % of america wear bridges and have no front teeth..Show me a hockey player with real front teeth

As an American who's only ever met one person without front teeth, I'd like to know where this large population is hiding.

Chances are if they are wearing bridges you would never know it.  Same goes for the 20 million or so Americans that wear dentures.  The 50% number is high for the general population but probably not that high for hockey players.  The numbers also suggest that at age 65 you'll be wearing some sort of false tooth or teeth.  It only takes one small accident to end up looking like "a crack pipe smoker" as Herp would put it.

Why don't we stop with the attacks on individuals?  We're not in high school anymore (or are we?).  Say what you want about the value of the coin but leave the personal attacks out of the thread please.

I'm not selling MZC yet but I'm finished with alt coins. I buy them and they sink twenty thousand leagues under the sea  Sad I'll better get rid of my black cat

Same, almost.  I'm gonna do AUR a little just so I can say I peed on the fence then move everything back to BTC and DOGE even though DOGE is way down.  I'm keeping my stash of Maza and will join back if things start looking better.  i really wanted this coin to succeed.
