Re: Memory lane (best match you gambled on)
by

I don't remember every single CS:GO match I've ever gambled on, but one that was a big upset and was a massive win for me was NiP vs Vega Squadron at the first ELEAGUE Major main qualifier in 2016. Vega Squadron ended up winning almost 16-2 again NiP, and HLTV even shows you the scale of this upset (click for match link). NiP was considered one of the top teams in the world at the time, and Vega was still on the come up at the time. I didn't bet an extremely large amount on Vega, but it was funny and surreal at the same time that NiP was choking so hard.

Re: Bitcoin sentiment index based on 100% social data - what do you think?
by

Interesting. I don't like to base my trades purely on sentiment most of the time because I find it's still generally unreliable even if data's being pulled from multiple sources and I'd rather use indicators and TA over it, but it's certainly interesting to see how wildly sentiment has fluctuated recently even on smaller price fluctuations, but it's definitely a lagging indicator at the end of the day.

Re: 7 Reasons Why Everyone Should Invest in Cryptocurrencies in 2020
by
leowonderful
on 02/04/2020, 20:25:09 UTC

I believe that Bitcoin's halving event this year is one of the main reasons why everyone should invest into crypto. It's no secret that after each halving, prices rise like never before across the market. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies had experienced a downfall in price because of the coronavirus pandemic, there's still light at the end of the tunnel. There could be an upsurge in demand across major cryptocurrencies as people continue to practice social distancing. The online world will grow like never before, making crypto the top payment option of choice for businesses, companies, and average individuals.

(cut)

Nonetheless, there's always a risk with every investment. Especially crypto which is well-known to be volatile in price at times. The least you could do is diversify your investment into not only crypto, but precious metals as well. That way, you could reduce risks of loss in case crypto behaves like crazy across the market. As long as you do that, you'll be safe from financial harm for many years to come. Just my thoughts Grin

I agree with your comments on Bitcoin's halving. We've seen a rise in prices for Bitcoin and other coins as well historically after halvings, and though the market tends to rhyme and perform somewhat similarly during certain recurring events and patterns, I'm not entirely confident we'll see things work out in a similar fashion this time around, though as long as you're not overly risking your money it's not a bad time to accumulate in advance.

I also agree that you shouldn't just diversify your crypto investments, because the prices of most cryptocurrencies tend to loosely follow where Bitcoin and the other major Altcoins go. Never put your eggs into one basket or baskets. Smiley

Re: E-gambling
by

With the way things are going and how these stable gambling sites are making huge profits, we will have hundreds of e-gambling sites in the next five years now that Cryptocurrency is on the adoption process, it's only a matter of time before the industry will shift to online gambling and the profit from the online gambling industry will be higher than gambling casinos.

We already have hundreds of online gambling sites that accept crypto. The problem is regulations limit where they operate, and I suspect lot of people are still unwilling to use cryptocurrency due to volatility, especially with Bitcoin recently. I could definitely see a continuing shift towards online gambling, but not necessarily with cryptocurrency involved, though I'm sure online gambling sites primarily focused on crypto will still keep growing.

Re: Simple trading advise for newbe that should follow
by

Another day another newbie trader advice we do have here.  Smiley

Everything should really be learnt but that wont happen overnight which means the more you trade the more experience you would gain.
Lets say you are fully aware that you shouldnt enter on the market randomly but when you are totally noob and the time you are on the middle
of the trade, pretty sure that you dont even know on what you gonna do.

Learn everything and mistakes are inevitable but these are stepping stones for you to be a better trader.

Something else I would advise for newer traders is to start off trading smaller amounts of cryptocurrencies at first because you'll certainly face difficulties and mistakes at first. As stomachgrowls noted already, you'll learn things over time and you'll also learn with more specific reading on techniques and indicators and even risk management.

Most people statistically do not become successful traders, and trading definitely isn't for everyone. That doesn't mean you shouldn't take a shot if you're interested, though.

Re: Why is 2020 going to be a good year for cryptocurrency Investors?
by
leowonderful
on 02/04/2020, 02:18:03 UTC
Another generic thread built to advertise a project. All of the points mentioned in the OP have applied to almost all of the recent years that cryptocurrencies have been popular mainly because digital payments and other utilizations of blockchain technology have been employed in tons of projects that aren't even only crypto-related.

I could still see 2020 being a great year for investors once COVID-19 blows over and people are more willing to invest again, though. This moment in time could also be great for investors to accumulate.

Seems like YoBit participating in an April Fool's joke to me. If you go to the original Tweet that YoBit sent out about the token, you'll arrive at the TPT token page from CoinMarketcap that seems to be pretty much fully satirical (link here). I hope people aren't seriously trading this coin because I seriously doubt it'll have any other developments past today, but I wouldn't be surprised if YoBit keeps it up.

Re: What are you doing now?

I'm finding other ways to earn money and expanding my business however much I can during these times. I was betting on esports matches like I usually did and I still played a few of the games like dice and roulette that are available on almost any casino, but I've started saving more money recently even though I do have a relatively large emergency fund in case I happen to lose my job.

Re: Trading on DEX's - What's your experience?
by
leowonderful
on 01/04/2020, 21:35:18 UTC
I used to use DEXes like the Waves DEX and Etherdelta back when I was bounty hunting and trading altcoins actively and some coins were only listed on either Etherdelta or other smaller decentralized exchanges, but I also encountered low liquidity and thin books on most of the ones I did use back then, and I suspect those issues still remain on decentralized exchanges since I don't see much discussion on them at all anywhere.

I suspect DEX usage will probably become more commonplace as governments tighten regulations on cryptocurrencies and potentially start issuing more strict KYC requirements to exchanges, but they'll probably remain low-key for now.

Re: Longest Break You Have On Not Gambling
by
leowonderful
on 01/04/2020, 21:27:24 UTC
I actually haven't been gambling as of recently either. I usually do play on online casinos, but there's been so many things going on that I just don't have much time to gamble much if at all right now. It's strange because I usually gamble to take my mind off things, but it just hasn't been working for me recently and I'd rather be as productive as possible during times like these.

This might also turn out to be the longest time that I've stopped gambling if coronavirus keeps spreading as expected. I typically don't gamble during vacations and times like that, but this has the possibility to last longer.

While it's true that whales can have an impact on the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins, I don't think they're the primary cause of the recent drops in price for most cryptocurrencies because I believe you're greatly underestimating the power that the public has on the price of cryptocurrencies especially when panicking ensues and people want to get out. This sort of dump can be a great time for whales and almost anyone to begin accumulating coins, though, which I do agree with.

Re: Gambling Business That Survives when a Crisis
by

Esports tournaments actually do get cancelled due to real-life events, especially when it comes to major tournaments which are common with games like DOTA 2 and CS:GO. There are also exclusively online tournaments, but they're usually reserved for smaller events and lower-tier matchups and it's generally ideal that higher-tier teams play in person.

On the CS:GO side of things, the anticheat programs employed in third party services outside of Valve's own system are actually extremely sophisticated and manage to filter out almost all cheaters, but there are indeed incidents where external devices are used to cheat and such.

Re: Binance may acquire the Coinmarketcap by 400 Million USD!
by

on 31/03/2020, 21:55:32 UTC
This was quite surprising to me; never did I even have the thought that Binance would go after something like CoinMarketCap. Even though CoinMarketCap's a relatively simplistic site at the end of the day, it's still a great deal for Binance as I'm sure they'll find a way to attach the Binance name to the site after acquisition one way or another. The name of the site alone is massively popular as stated in the OP, and the site's operations may even change for the better if Binance does acquire CMC.

Re: What will the gambling addicts do now that the casinos have closed?
by
leowonderful
on 31/03/2020, 21:50:12 UTC
I suspect most people that are truly addicts will just pursue online gambling now that the physical casinos are closed, though it's also true that the online gambling experience is very different from that of physical casinos, and not everyone enjoys online gambling.

Some online tournaments for games like CS:GO are still going on last time I checked, and there's always the possibility that some of these people start looking into esports gambling.

by

There's nothing wrong with it. If you're able to make a profit from it, then congratulations. You should be doing research into whatever new methods of trading you're interested in trying anyways, and that should be enough to help you step past the misinformation that's present almost everywhere on the web. If anything or anyone is promising you extremely easy money, then it's very likely to be a scam or there are string attached as said in the OP.

You need both an active and passionate community for anything in the crypto space to succeed; the main development team of a crypto project should also ideally have some sort of communication with the community whether it's updates or questions and announcements for the community.

There's definitely no one or few defined ways for a project to succeed, though. Everything in the crypto space has its own strengths and faults, though there are improvements to be made everywhere. Nothing's truly perfect.

Re: What to do with my crypto assets?
by
leowonderful
on 30/03/2020, 21:42:44 UTC
If there's no way you can possibly withdraw all of your assets to some fiat currency like USD, then I suppose USDT would be an okay alternative; Tether's got a pretty rocky history and I don't like it personally, but it's held up so far and people still seem to trust in it. The coin also hasn't fluctuated too significantly from its target price of $1 to date yet (though it has on a few occasions), though there's no telling if it'll stay like this.

If you're already nervous about the markets, it's not a good idea to stack on even more risk for a reward that you might not even see.

Re: What will crypto space look like?

on 30/03/2020, 21:37:07 UTC
I also agree things probably wouldn't change much. I see and have seen people invest in newer coins, especially around 2017, but there's much less of those people than the majority that just trades the few large-cap coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum. I still think it'd be horrible if there were only 20 coins being traded, though, because the Top X coins changes all the time, for better and for worse. Just take a look at the screenshots on Coinmarketcap from years back.

Re: What keeps gamblers going back after solving their addiction in gambling?
by
leowonderful
on 30/03/2020, 21:33:39 UTC
I think it's the prospect of making huge sums of money with almost no effort. We all see people striking gold every now and then from gambling one way or another, and it's extremely easy to talk yourself into thinking you'll just win next time even if you've experienced great losses and negatives from gambling. Money's has a very strong effect on us humans, and it's also why some people just can't stop gambling.

Re: What is the safest crypto online games to start if you are a Newbie?
by
leowonderful
on 30/03/2020, 21:31:00 UTC
I wouldn't say there's a game that's necessarily 'safer' than another since there's the chance of addiction or strong losses with every game, and everyone has different strengths and preferences when it comes to games. If you're a newbie, try playing all the games offered on a site that has a faucet or some free-play system to find what you like the most and start from there.
