Re: Qt Bitcoin Trader [Open Source secure trading client for Mac/Windows/Linux]

it's hard because when I need instant order I know the market is going to move quick, setting 5% each time isn't an option.

It requires some time to implement Market orders and we will work on it later.

Noted with thanks.

is there have instant buy/sell button I could use? when the market moves quickly I can't react quick enough due to price quickly changed.

You can just buy at 5% higher price than current, and sell at 5% lower price than current.
It is equal to open Market order and you will get best price possible.

Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer T9 Bitcoin Miner
by

It's nearly impossible to run into profit with this thing, ROI for the unit cost is nearly 1 year, not yet count for rents, air-con, electricity and labor cost.

Bitcoin mining has become too centralized because of what you mention, mainly because the initial investment is pretty significant, for unit price and setup costs. Bitmain is too interested in profits to give smaller miners a chance at getting into the game. Plus the T9's 11.5TH is nowhere near powerful or efficient enough to give substantial enough returns for the price they ask. But running costs can be reduced if you setup in the right environment, as well as labor if you have the skills to do most of the work yourself. I think Bitmain just serves the big miners now, so if you're a small miner best to look into other crypto's to mine.

Does bulk order would be a lot cheaper?

BITMAIN

January 5th, 2015

Its hard not to point out that that is well over 1BTC/TH - a price that was considered competitive at only slightly lower efficiency over a month ago, and when bitcoin prices were almost 50% higher.

Definitely holding off on the hardware orders until price pops back over $400

Same here, BTC price should be above 430 to make a break even!

If BTC is now 260-270USD, difficulty seems going up, then S5 for price 401USD + shipping is very overpriced.
I wanted to buy around 30 units, but price have to be  less then 350USD.

I agree, recent price drop make S5 so expensive that it's not worth it anymore.

Which mining hardware is?

you do realize that you are on Antminer S5 thread, right?

Isn't I should use 0.8 on power factor ? Looks like I can't contain 4 miners in 13 Amps socket.

Am I confusing myself or it's true that we will never break even with this S5 miner?

I have a space which rents is 180USD/month, including 13 Amps, 220 Volts; Which I consider is the cheapest place I could rent for mining at this moment.

This is my calculation:

Unless BTC priced at 430+, else we would't be profitable at all.

Correct me if I am wrong please.

Hi All,

I got enough burnt adapter to make me consider using KnC provided Y split cable, then use this kind of screw based connector to bridge up between power supply and Y cable, how many Amps of power requirement do I need to consider when I buy screw based connector?

I just wondering, in a close loop system, if bottom is the miner board, top is radiator/condenser, would it work this way? or I need to have two separated system (Novec + miner = first system; Radiator + fan module = second system) and link up with an aluminum plate to do heat exchange?

I might flip the PCB so WB are inside of pentagon with straight barbs for smaller footprint.

I usually refrain from prototype pics, but this prototype is less ugly than most of my monstrosities.
I hope to approach the 'pair of WC Saturns complete with PSUs in one case' level of fit and finish.

are you using general PC water cooling system or GPU one? or something else? I am interested to do this as well.

by

Got mine S1 last night and plugged it in straight away. Is it normal for it to be that loud? Also when it starts, the fan seems to be making some clicking noises, they sort of disappear over time as you can hear them anymore over the noise of the fan spinning, is this expected behavior?

are you sure the clicking noise isn't from the the board itself? when it doesn't have internet connection, clicking noise will appear.

guys,  I am trying to connect PCIE with extender cable, after peel off the shield plastic, I realize the copper wire isn't too thick, is it normal? how do I know if the cable is not suitable to use if it's too thin? I can't take a photo as cable is too small for my phone camera to take a clear picture, please advise.

Power supply direct output cable marking: 18AWG

Extender marking: 22AWG

is it ok to use this extender cable?

Down to there are only 866/1500 Neptunes

Your call to buy more!
