Re: Network Attack on XVG / VERGE

...Sorry for derailing the original topic a bit but this topic was my only chance to get someone from verge after nobody answered on twitter for hours...

Sorry you got scammed and all that.

But all your contribution to this post has done is to announce to the world that you're ignorant of how Twitter works –namely that anyone can reply to anyone else's Tweet– and this does not mean that these replies are in any way endorsed by or connected to the original Tweeter's account. About one nanosecond of looking at the thousands of [often abusive] replies posted on anyone remotely high profile's timeline would have shown you that.

So why keep banging on about it, like it's Verge's fault or Twitter's fault that you got scammed by someone on Twitter?  It's no-one else's fault but your own. Learn from your mistake, move on and stop casting about for someone else to blame.  Roll Eyes

Re: Kraken deposits and withdrawals disabled?

Just hitting this error myself today.  I can't deposit or withdraw anything because I'm Tier 2 and I'd have to be... oh, wait!... Tier 2, in order to do any of that.

So, yet another frustration to add to the eternal Cloudflare errors, page reload roulette, transactions failing to go through and general crapness of the site. When I think how much money these incompetent twats must be trousering and still they can't even run a website that doesn't leave its users head-butting walls in frustration, every time they have to use it, it makes my blood boil.

Oh well. I must just grit my teeth and bear it until I can finish withdrawing the last of my coins and euros from that joke of an exchange.

Actually, come to think of it, it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of these frustrations weren't deliberately engineered to frustrate people trying to remove their assets from Kraken. The site owners are probably terrified of the stampede for the door that would ensue, if they made it too easy for us to escape.

Re: How can I confirm my email with BTC-E?

In fairness, I did eventually get this sorted with BTC-E, but it took about three days, two support people on the case, registering a separate login for the support section of their site and then navigating to my 'profile' page via a different URL than the one the main menu takes you to —just to get a "confirm your email address" link to appear. So, whilst I got there in the end and there's no suggestion of shady dealing on BTC-E's part, I'm still gobsmacked at how much of a hassle that was, just to do such a simple thing.

Seriously folks, you need to do some usability studies on your website!

Absolute fucking joke of a company!

I've just been hit with this problem myself, when trying to withdraw some BTC:

"Confirm your email to proccess withdraw"

Not a single button anywhere on their site to resend the confirmation email I received when I set up my account, several weeks ago. So I trawl through my old emails til I find the original 'confirm your email address' email, that I got when I signed up. I click on the link on that and get another error:

"Error: Your IP-address does not converge with the IP-address which is applied for"

WTF?!

rejectmining.com –Rip Off?

Has anyone had any bad or good experiences with rejectmining.com?

After the recent announcement about Myriadcoin being on the verge of announcing a send-by-SMS service, I thought it might be worth mining a few MYR, so joined rejectmining's pool. I mined at just over 1mh/s for a couple of days and earned several thousand shares. A couple more days on and there's still nothing showing in my wallet.

Also the pool seems to be dead now, with hashrates having fallen off a cliff early this morning.

Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014

Well, after lurking on these forums for several months, I finally signed up today and was going to post a "Where to next, after the ASICs monopolise Litecoin?" query as my traditionally dumb first post.

After reading through this thread, I'm glad I didn't bother. The words "vested" and "interests" spring to mind almost as athletically as the words "unbiased" and "opinion" leap off in the opposite direction.

FWIW, I'm not a stakeholder in any of the new altcoins yet. Just waiting for Mr. Postie to finish bringing me the bits to build my first test mining rig, before I start my collection. So, as yet, I have no dog in this fight. However, from devouring vast swathes of discussion on this forum over the past few months, the coins that pique my interest and which I'll probably start with [difficulty levels permitting] are:

  • Myriad
  • Namecoin
  • Peercoin
  • Unobtanium

...until that is, I foist my own copy-pasted effort onto an uncaring world, at which point coin will suddenly become the 'innovative', 'revolutionary' coin to watch and unnamed persons [ie. me] will confidently 'expect' it to reach £25 within the next 6 months.

PS: Hi all!  Grin
