every day without an inch of movement from Blockstream, increases the possibility. The fact that they start bringing up PoW changes when backed into a corner gives even more weight to the idea that they would rather go to war than compromise to 2MB.

Blockstream is moving rapidly on segwit, sidechains, and Lightning.  They are meticulously preparing Bitcoin to be carefully scaled ASAP.

Classic, OTOH, is spreading '2MB? Not much testing needed' nonsense.

And yes, we will "go to war" to defend Bitcoin's diverse/diffuse/defensible/resilient characteristics, from which its key interesting property of antifragility emerges.

Whine about it all you want.  Nothing you do can move our Honey Badger's needle one iota.  You have no power here.

I still have doubts regarding sidechains security:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3vg06a/official_release_rootstock_white_paper/cxnfe6n

As for the segwit thing, I am still quite opposed to the excision of cryptographic signatures from the holy ledger (also implying the introduction of 3rd trusted parties)..

WHat you think?

If he was able to think, he would not be the good old iCE.

Classic is coming, like it or not. The alternative is to go down with a ship full of corecoins or popescucoins.

Not just you. I thought it might be related to the "stress stest".
Explain more about this 'stress test'?

"So essentially CoinWallet.eu is "canceling" the stress test & giving away private keys so others will move the coins for them and inadvertently do the stress test themselves. Am I interpreting that correctly?"

http://www.eldiario.es/hojaderouter/emprendedores/pau_garcia-mila-emprendimiento-EyeOS-Bananity_0_369213079.html

His posts contain a lot of personal attacks. Yet only the simpletons clinging to these "because offended" are unable to recognize the insights. Truth hurts indeed

Can you explain which insights you're referring to?  It looks to me like mostly technical misunderstandings about how a fork would play out combined with a lack of knowledge about Bitcoin.  For example, explain how this is true:

"If Gavincoin wins, Bitcoin holdhouts lose nothing and Gavin supporters gain nothing. If Gavincoin flounders, Gavin supporters lose everything"

Hey iCE! This is your opportunity to show us that you are not just a brainless bully.

Using logic, I can see two possible reason for being a block minimalist developer.

1)  Since "Uh oh, here it is we who decide the size of the blocks", because having power is good. Since there is no consensus within the self appointed dominator group, we have to wait until the royals can come to agreement.

2) They want to suffocate bitcoin, permanently if possible, to get a head start on their endevour into competing systems.

I'm leaning more and more towards 2, judging by the percentage of Blockstream supremacists and monero pimps between block minimalists.

The debate is settled; the consensus is 'we don't have a consensus.'

I would love to see the current definition of "consensus" for Bitcoin changes because if that means 100% support for doing something then the whole project is royally screwed. There has been no endeavor of importance in human history where unanimity was required on all decisions.

Satoshi is a pragmatist because he has >50% majority baked into deciding how the blockchain grows. That is the consensus he came up with and anything better is a "nice-to-have".

Yes, we know, you'd like it to be a democracy. Fortunately Bitcoin works exactly against that principle.

Unlike in a democracy, where decisions are coercively imposed by a numerical majority, in a system ruled by economic majority there's no coercion; the economic majority goes its own way and breaks free from anyone who seeks to impose a measure that is judged detrimental to its interests.

The puffery "about censorship" is the most lulzy of all, because it highlights the self-righteous whiny immaturity and fundamental ignorance of the ReddiTard mob.

What a great thread.  Such epic Gavinista buttburn.  Well done Thermos!   Cheesy

As usual, not a single argument - just a cheap and dull imitation of MP.

BitcoinXT is a classic alt-coin.  A non-compatible change to the protocol undertaken by a minority of Bitcoin contributors (and minor contributors at that.)

I again wish them luck and I am hopeful that a large segment of the Bitcoin community jumps onboard with the XT project since it will produce a much more healthy ecosystem for those who do not.

This is what I would like to hear from every "1 MB forevah" supporter. I wonder why are they so afraid of a hard fork ...

Can't take 'yes' for an answer?  I said clearly that I wish you guys would get on with it with your bloatcoin and quite flapping your gums.  Bring it on already!

Yeah, but don't you wonder why your opinion is not popular between the 1MB folks?

So gold, Bitcoin, and altcoins will be making their lows this coming spring 2016. This is 100% certain.

Expect gold to drop to < $700 ($680), Bitcoin will drop to double-digits again, and altcoins will be demolished fall to perhaps 1/5 their current prices.

"100% certain"  Roll Eyes  This could haunt you for the rest of your life, if you had a conscience.

as Andreas says, "prepare to lose all your money!"

They will not lose one satoshi. They will follow the economic majority and they will pretend that they are actually being followed.

Peter's problem, if you call it a problem at all, is that I've only seen one person have the confidence or ability to step up and discuss the math with him. That's pretty damn  impressive.

Instead, all we get is a childish scolding by a hand waving armchair logic dev also by the name of Peter.

That's why I think this will not be solved with more debate.
