Decision matters alot in life
by
mid9tclaw02
on 07/09/2025, 20:20:35 UTC
How did you fine decision? In your own way it might be different from others but I think decision is taking a preferred preference leaving the much listed needs or wants.
Now being decisive doesn't make one  good or bad person but actually is working for one's own good.
Have you ever noticed that some of the most miserable people in the world are those who never made decisions?
If one commit his/her self to being indecisive, imagine the kind of life the person would live.
You know the middle of a road is the most dangerous place to be. That also implies to live too. Being indecisive is as being in the middle of a road. And that's why most times people when they are in crossroads of life they are scared, what to do, where to go, how to go about life at that time but the best thing to do at that moment is to take a DECISION.
Make some decisions the moment you that  and works towards towards it, things will fall into place to help you get what you want. Just as the Bible says in James "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways ".
Too many people go through life not  knowing what they want but feeling sure they don't have it. But the truth is that if one remains indecisive he or she will never grow.
To cut things short I will say to move from where one is right now is to be decisive to where one would rather be and I say good luck in taking that decision that would change your  life for good.
And talking decision is not that of someone's own but yours because you will be the one to answer for it and not the person you got it from.

Trump signs order to punish countries that unjustly detain US citizens
by
mid9tclaw02
on 07/09/2025, 16:06:27 UTC
President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that aims to punish countries that illegally detain US citizens.

The order will give the State Department the power to impose sanctions or take other measures against countries by creating a "state sponsor of wrongful detention" designation.

The White House said the order is designed to "protect US nationals from wrongful detention abroad by authorizing robust responses against foreign governments engaging in such practices".

The US government does not publish the number of Americans detained abroad. The Foley Foundation, an advocacy group, stated that at least 54 Americans were wrongfully detained in 17 countries in 2024.

In a statement, Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the signing an "unprecedented action to impose new consequences on those who wrongfully detain Americans abroad".

Rubio said the designation could lead to penalties including things like economic sanctions and restrictions to visas, foreign assistance and travel for US passport holders.

He added the new designation is modelled after the state sponsor of terrorism classification so "no nation should want to end up on this list".

"Anyone who uses an American as a bargaining chip will pay the price," he said.

The order also applies to non-state actors "controlling significant territory" even if they are not recognised as governments, The White House said.

There is no indication on when the Trump administration would take action against offending countries.

The State Department noted that most detentions or arrests of US nationals abroad happen after legitimate law enforcement incidents or judicial processes.

The White House said the president has secured the release of 72 American detainees.

These include Marc Fogel, an American teacher who was wrongfully detained in a Russian prison, and George Glezmann, who was held by the Taliban in Afghanistan for more than two years.

The Foley Foundation, which was founded to honour journalist James Foley who was kidnapped and killed by ISIS, noted in its 2024 report that cases of wrongful detention accounted for 83% of Americans detained in foreign countries.

During Trump's first term, Congress passed the Robert Levinson Act that stated that the State Department can determine whether an American is being wrongly detained based on several criteria, such as the fairness of the country's judicial system or whether they are being held hostage to extract concessions from Washington DC.

The furious debate over the US's fourth-best city
by
mid9tclaw02
on 07/09/2025, 15:52:52 UTC
After New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, the fight is on: locals make the case for the city that should be number four.

The United States is renowned for its iconic cities. New York City undoubtedly tops the list as the nation's largest city (8.5 million residents) and one of the world's great fashion, culture and finance capitals. Los Angeles comes in just behind, the US's second-most populous city and the centre of the film industry, gateway to beaches and laid-back lifestyles. The third-largest city, Chicago, was home to the world's first skyscraper and has long vied with New York in a race to build the world's tallest, most impressive buildings.

With the top three seemingly fixed, one question recently set social media aflame: what city deserves the US's fourth spot? Residents from across the country made their case, but a few consistently rose to the top – whether by population, tourism or historical importance. We asked locals what makes their city worthy of the title and why tourists should add it to their itineraries

Zelensky condemns 'ruthless attack' after Russia hits main government building
by

on 07/09/2025, 15:34:42 UTC
Ukraine's main government building in Kyiv has been hit for the first time in the war during Russian attacks, the Ukrainian prime minister has said.

Yulia Svyrydenko said the building's roof and upper floors were damaged and a fire ignited "due to an enemy attack".

At least four people were killed in strikes across the country, including a baby and a young woman who died after a nine-storey residential building was hit in Kyiv's Svyatoshynsky district, officials said.

Ukraine's air force reported that a record number of drones and missiles were launched by Russia in the latest nightly attack - more than 800 in total.

According to the air force, nine missiles and 56 drones hit 37 locations, and the downed wreckage fell at eight locations.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said the barrage caused damage in the cities of Zaporizhzhia, Kryvyi Rih and Odesa, as well as in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

"Such killings now, at a time when real diplomacy could have started a long time ago, are a deliberate crime and an attempt to prolong the war," Zelensky said on social media, urging political will from the world to stop the attacks.

Russia's defence ministry said it had carried out strikes on Ukraine's military-industrial complex and transport infrastructure, inflicting damage on weapons and military equipment warehouses.

Russia's defence ministry said it had carried out strikes on Ukraine's military-industrial complex and transport infrastructure, inflicting damage on weapons and military equipment warehouses.

Telegram/svyrydenkoy The image shows a large grey and light stone building, the main Ukraine government building, set against a blue sky with eight windows wide and six to seven windows vertical, with the top two floors on the right hand side on fire. There are cranes attempting to extinguish the fire,Telegram/svyrydenkoy
The Kyiv government building that was hit is also known as the cabinet of ministers building, as it houses the offices of Ukraine's main ministers.

Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko suggested a drone may have accidentally hit the cabinet building after being intercepted, although the details remained unclear on Sunday.

"In Pechersk district, a fire broke out in a government building as a result of an UAV possibly being shot down," he wrote on Telegram.

This is a new twist in Russia's attacks on Ukraine. Until now, no government building has been hit - the centre of Kyiv is very heavily defended, it has been since the start of the full-scale invasion. So this will shake people.

It is a symbolic strike. It also shows clearly that Russian President Vladimir Putin's talk about being ready for peace is all posturing. He is not stopping. Instead, Russia is intensifying its attacks.

Re: Nepal's ban social media

Looks like free speech is dead in Nepal then. I don’t like to see this happen, it’s like North Korea, China & others. It’s dangerous & sets a precedent for Communism. The last thing we want to see is a return to widespread Communism in certain parts of the world.
when people don't find communicating with each other freely it causes fear and chaos in that kind of place so this is highly unacceptable and should be called off because I don't see what point the government is pointing out

Re: Nepal's ban social media

Nepal has ordered a nationwide block on 26 major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, WhatsApp and LinkedIn, after they failed to register with the Ministry of Communications within a seven-day deadline. Acting on a Supreme Court directive in a contempt case, internet providers were told to restrict access until compliance. Nepal’s 2080 Directive mandates local registration, appointment of a contact person, and systems for user complaint handling. TikTok, Telegram, and Viber remain accessible as they have registered or are registering.

Sad to see we are heading this way. This is a move to hide the corruption and incompetence of current government.
There's an unorganized protest planned tomorrow and we've seen that protest hasn't yielded any good results worldwide.
However bad democracy may seem, any system other than democracy is much worse.
The youths need to be more organized and come up with a democratic way of deciding on things and policies and establish a new system based political force and make changes through elections.
with this the government is able to do something's that they ought not to do because it can't go out of the country and I don't know how this can be protested against in Nepal how will the youths there fight such without the help of social media for backup is highly undemocratic

According to researchers in Austria, funny people, especially those who enjoy dark humour, have higher IQs than their less funny peers.

Evidence suggests that humour actually boosts perceptions of confidence, competence and status, making funny people very influential.

How funny are you?

Mistakes are often the teachers
by

There are difference between champion and the average persons. It is their ability to handle rejections and failures.

Naturally when one falls to the ground he/she is been consoled and is helped to stand up. In life what one should know is that whenever he/she fall or falls in any area of life should try to pick something up.

The person who invented eraser has figured out the human race yeah I just thought it can't only be used on erasing a write up but can be used also in life affairs.

When one  fails that's absolutely the end but to imply the erasing format and continue life.
People aren't rembered by how few times they failed but how often they succeed.

The saddest summary of life contains three description, could have, might have, and should have. All of these results to failure, so look at what you have left, never look at what you have lost.

In summary don't let the fear of failing so much that you refuse to try new things

When I wanted to trade today, I saw naira has climbed to 1490 to a dollar in the exchange market. Will this continue or government are only doing market manipulation?

With what I am reading, analysts are predicting that dollar price will continue to increase but the price of what we are importing are not falling. Do you think increasing the value of naira while things are still expensive a good idea?
the fact is that no matter how much the naira may be the price of things will never go down instead it will be going up and up so for me just trade in dolls and that's all

Re: Genotypes and it's effect in society

In our society system now before couples come together their do go for test for genotypes and so on  and most times these test comes out negatively affecting them were by the man might be AS and the woman AS too and the result will aromatically disrupt the marriage

But back then our fore father's don't have time to check all this things and there were happily married and giving birth to numerous healthy children is it that things have changed since then or what's wrong your opinions is recommended
Genotypes is the major reason why some couples go through allot in the society today because those couples that failed to understand that before you can marry your partner that there is needs to run blood test by both partners know be able to know or identify if actually the both partners are good to marry in other to avoid bringing children that is going to suffer till they die, if actually some partners are taking the seriousness of knowing there Genotypes before marriage it will surely help in the society by reducing the rate in which abnormal childrens in the society, which will be leaving in pains for the rest of their life, so if by preventure that government can make this Genotypes deems for every couples before marriage will be a better solution to the society.
actually is a good thing for couples to check there genotype but the fear of loosing each other is the problem and further the government should make it free for citizens to know there various genotype

Is knowing your spouse genotype necessary
by

on 05/09/2025, 10:31:12 UTC
I believe in our society today it is a necessity for each partner to know the genotype of his or her partner in turn to continue the relationship or to set apart the relationship   but I most say this back then our forefathers don't have time for running all these test they just go ahead and get married to there beautiful wives and have as many children as there want and everyone is happy so what really changed because this genotype is really disrupting long relationship and causing fear in relationships I really need your opinions on this ....

In the society where I yield from we do prefer data than when someone gives out money to us often because data is been valued as gold and if you don't have data you dare not switch your phone on unless you want to play games on your phone is kinda weird how we value data so much over here and it is also expensive to acquire

Don't marry people that are not meant for you. Before we were born our CREATOR already destined us to be with certain people as husbands and wives, but people try to marry (or marry) someone else or at the wrong time. Always wait for the right person and the right time.
Our CREATOR's Will rather than human will should always prevail.

At the right time a compatible partner would be found.
one question for you when is the right time and how do you know your right partner is it that easy

Is not that something which is done only in African countries, so couples can be sure their children won't suffer from adnormalities on their red cells?
This is something which is pretty much unheard of in the American continent, I have never had my blood examined when I have a girlfriend and I have never even suggested any of my girlfriends to get tested to know their genotypes...

It must be kind of weird to live in a society where people pays such amount of attention to genetics of other people. Again, it is something which is not common here.
Of course we don't practice such in our country it will actually make people to be scared of having a partner it causes fear
