35 BFL FPGA Singles Smiley (2 are broken and being sent back to BFL for replacements so there will be 37 hopefully within a week)

Full size: http://i.imgur.com/jKUnQfe.jpg

All were purchased used through these forums... your unit should be above (other than the broken ones) if you sold me one. :p
Not pictured: 2 box fans, 4 large PC-style fans, a shelf full of more power strips and BFL power bricks, and the console (keyboard/mouse/monitor) for the host computer.
This is in a somewhat cramped basement so it was hard to get a picture with everything in it.

Unfortunately I can't take credit for the custom BFL enclosure at the right of the top shelf; this came with my most recent BFL single purchase. Wink (thanks!!)

Host computer is an Intel Atom machine (the box with the bright blue light) but I'm currently having a lot of USB problems (which could actually be due to the units themselves... maybe it's because they're all used, but BFL Singles can be such a pain sometimes) so I'm looking to replace it with a regular computer soon.

I know that I could power the BFLs from ATX power supplies using custom cables, but it would cost about $1000 US in cables and power supplies, and the Single SC's will require even more power (thicker cables + more power supplies) so I'm holding off until BFL's ASICs are out before I consider alternative power supplies.

I'm considering removing the cases from the units on the bottom shelf and will probably do this if a new host computer doesn't resolve my USB issues.  It almost seems like BFL sacrificed some of the functionality of these things to make them look nice, which I think is a terrible decision considering the purpose of bitcoin mining gear. Wink

Next step: Set up an air conditioner for when summer comes around...

I see lots of people selling their coupons.

Can you use this for other antminer products?
No, unfortunately the coupons are only valid for one type of product.  I'm selling coupons for both the S1 and S2 but do not have any coupons for the U2 USB miners.

[WTS] AntMiner S1 & S2 Coupons: $400 off S2 for $200, .05btc off S1 for .02btc
by
mitty
on 10/05/2014, 16:48:55 UTC
Edit: I see that someone else tried doing this about a week ago with many negative responses.  If you do not trust me or think this is a good idea then please kindly ignore this post.

I have a large amount of AntMiner S1 and S2 coupons on my BITMAIN account and don't plan on using them all myself so I'm wondering if anyone is interested in buying them.  They are not transferable so I must create your order on my account. (I realize there are trust issues here)

I have 0.05 BTC discount coupons for the AntMiner S1 and will sell these for 0.02 BTC each, so you basically get a free 0.03 BTC discount.

I also have $400 discount coupons for the AntMiner S2 and will sell these for $200 worth of BTC each (no PayPal, sorry), so you basically get a free $200 discount.

Two options for payment depending on how well you trust me. Wink
1. You pay me for the coupon and send me your address, I create the BITMAIN order with your address and forward you the BITMAIN invoice with payment address.  You pay the amount of the miner directly to BITMAIN.  Risk is that you don't pay within 1 hour of the order being created and the order is canceled.  In this case I refund you if I can get the coupon back from BITMAIN.

2. You pay me for the total price of the product after coupon price + my fee for the coupon and tell me your shipping address.  I place the order with your money.  Risk is that I'm a scammer and take your money without placing the order.  I know I'm not a scammer but you might not know that, so the issue is trust.

Not willing to accept escrow since I need your money to pay for the order.  I haven't been super active recently but have resold USD dualminers here with a good rep a while back and also have a 100% feedback rating + top rated status on eBay: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=mittynuke&ftab=AllFeedback

Please email me, matt@doonstack.com, if you are interested.  Include the product(s) you want (S1 and/or S2), quantities, your shipping address (name + address + phone number), and whether you prefer to pay me the full amount (preferred option unless you plan on staying online until I send you the BITMAIN order) or just the amount to buy the coupon. (you must pay the BITMAIN order within 1 hour of me sending it to you if you opt for the latter)

Thank you!

[WTB] Avalon 2 Hashing Module Board (just 1 of 4 boards, not whole module)
by
mitty
on 03/03/2014, 16:34:28 UTC
I bought a 2nd gen Avalon (not the official Avalon 2) from Bit-Tech in the group buy forum and one of the four boards on one of the hash module has a burned component and the overall unit hashrate is about 50 GH/s lower than rated.  Bit-Tech refuses to send me replacement components and will not respond to my messages so I'm wondering if anyone else is selling Avalon components and has one of these in stock.

I'm just looking for one of the hashing module boards- essentially 1/4 of a 55nm Avalon gen 2 hash module minus the heatsink or any other parts.

Please PM if you have one.. thanks!

DualMiner will have limited stock available next week and higher volumes available in March. I'll try to get my hands on some next week; otherwise it may not be until March :/

Looks like it won't be happening until March at this point. Sad

Keep us posted!
Right now I'm making arrangements to order a batch of the 5-chip miners as there seems to be a larger demand for those and I felt like I had to do something while waiting on DualMiner, but unfortunately I simply don't have the capital to also buy a batch of DualMiner USBs.  It's also an issue of my time between selling stuff here, on eBay, and working a full time job. Wink
But next time I'm going to have a website set up to handle orders which should hopefully result in faster order processing and maybe better (i.e., calculated based on actual cost) shipping rates for everyone.

I'm running multiple overclocked AntMiner S1s and I put two per 1000-watt 80PLUS Platinum PSU, clocking in at around 760-780 watts at the wall at 120 volts.  So somewhere around 380 watts per unit overclocked.

I'm currently having some issues getting in touch with DualMiner and their website also seems to show limited/out of stock for the DualMiner USBs. :/
Unfortunately it looks like things are going to be a bit delayed- as for now I don't have an ETA but will post here as soon as I hear back.

I apologize for the delays and hope everyone who ordered in the first batch who has received their miners are enjoying them!  I know there are still international orders that have not been delivered but it looks like the first few orders to Europe have been delivered today so everyone should be receiving their miners soon.

Unfortunatly I'm one of them that did not get delivered yet, I hate USPS, they are slow as hell Tongue

It looks like the dualminer site is showing them in stock again. I've been having slow contact with them aswell, and with slow, I mean really slow.
Yeah, they are very slow with international shipments except for Priority Mail Express International which is decently quick.

DualMiner will have limited stock available next week and higher volumes available in March. I'll try to get my hands on some next week; otherwise it may not be until March :/

Re: Every Online Merchant Should Accept BTC
by
mitty
on 17/02/2014, 05:59:03 UTC
Usually online merchant which do Digital trade only will use bitcoin , if i am selling cloth i will be taking cash

Why? Once the bitcoin payment has confirmed it can't be reversed. Shouldn't take long to get one confirm.

If you're selling a $10k dress for the Oscars, maybe you want to wait a few more minutes for a couple more confirms. Smiley

And another thing is how many people sell $10k Dress lol , what about those small business who sell 10-20 dollar stuff how are they going to use bitcoin for such amount without losing too much when trading back .
Coinbase and Bitpay (possibly others?) are services which enable merchants to accept Bitcoin for transactions with a fixed fiat currency value. (e.g., a $20 USD item)
These services calculate the amount of BTC the customer needs to pay at checkout then immediately convert it to USD or another fiat currency for the merchant to receive:

The merchant sets up an account on either service and enables the service as a payment gateway on their online store.  Customer adds product to their cart and sees their total in Dollars or whatever currency just like normal.  Customer then clicks "check out" and is redirected to a Bitpay or Coinbase "pay now" page which computes how much Bitcoin the customer needs to pay using the current exchange value.  Customer pays the amount, the BTC is immediately converted back to fiat and the merchant receives the Dollars via direct deposit into their bank just like accepting credit card or PayPal, Dwolla, etc.  The merchant could also decide to keep the money in BTC but the choice is up to them.

So the exchange rate problem has been solved on the merchant side at least. Smiley

Can you post some screenshots of the errors you're getting?

I sorted it out in the end. It was a problem with the operating system. Turns out the computer was using Windows Vista (maybe there is no support for Windows Vista?Huh? on the dualminer website it only talks about Windows XP, 7, 8 and 8.1).

Anyway i upgraded to Windows 7 and then tried again and they installed the drivers automatically, no problem.I have 30 hashing away now at average 1900 - 2300 kh/s. Appear pretty stable for the time being. Any info about firmware upgrades for the single chip miners? There is suppose to be a firmware upgrade for the 5 chip miner that improves the speed from 300 kh/s - 500 kh/s.

Also do you plan to have any more stock soon?
I don't have any info on new firmware but will post anything if I hear it.

And I am considering ordering another batch because there seems to be a pretty big demand for these. Wink
But nothing official yet.

received my stuff yesterday...thanks for the fast shipping, you are a really reliable seller and this was a fantastic group buy.

Here are some pics of my setup:
(snip)

I got in late last night so i only managed to test one miner running in litecoin mode. It clocked a stable 68-90 kh/s
That was on my laptop running windows 7 x64

I tried to install in on my desktop Windows XP x84 but it crashes every time windows goes to install the driver. I installed the VCP from FDTI website like the www.dualminer.com guide said. I get the following error message: "driver download timed out"

Any ideas, Mitty? I will try again tonight and post some screenshots. Is there a place to download the drivers manually? that would be a lot easier...

Will let you know what speed i get running 30 of them on Dipo Electronic 19 port hubs. These hubs have a lot of juice in them they can deliver about 1 amp per port easily so that should help.

I experienced a similar issue when I tested a few of the units and had just assumed it was something wrong with my computer;
I first tried running a few units on my Windows 7 x64 desktop PC with no success- drivers seemed to install but the units would simply not mine.  So I then tried on my Windows 8 x64 laptop and they worked fine and assumed the issue must be with my desktop PC.

However according to the DualMiner site you don't need to install the VCP driver unless you're on Windows XP- Windows 7 and 8 should install the devices automatically.

Can you post some screenshots of the errors you're getting?

Got my USB today. Thanks for the fast shipping / order processing, Mitty.  Grin

Seems to be unable to mine just in LTC mode, mines both just fine though. I'll tinker with it over the weekend.
No problem, glad it got there quickly & safely. Smiley
Did you make sure you set the tiny switch on the unit itself to "L" mode for Litecoin only?
Let me know if you still can't get it working and I'll contact DualMiner for RMA info right away.

Yeah, I made sure it was set to L.

Everything installed fine, pool info is correct, all the basic stuff I checked.

I can set it to mine both, switch it to B, and it'll work no problem. Set it to mine both and leave the BTC pool info blank and it'll mine just LTC fine. I can even set it to mine both, leave the switch on L, and it'll mine only LTC but KH/s is exactly as if it were mining both.

Set it to LTC only and it won't mine at all. I haven't found a way to get it to mine only LTC at the expected ~70kh/s.
I'm sorry you're experiencing issues with your miner. :/
I just emailed my contact at DualMiner and will get back to you when I hear back from him regarding warranty claims.  Hopefully I hear word back by tomorrow.

I figured it out! I don't think the issues are with the USB, to be honest.

I went to the install directory, changed and ran the LTC_ONLY.bat file. Raised the setting "--dualminer-pll 500" to 900 and it's now hashing at ~70KH/s.

It will not work if I use the GUI that installed.
Awesome, glad it's working!
DualMiner just got back to me and said it doesn't sound like a hardware problem, haha.

on 13/02/2014, 21:51:05 UTC
I have a few of these and the quality control seems nonexistent.  A couple of them run at the advertised speed but others are very unstable and/or are mining below advertised performance (130-180 GH/s).  Two of them arrived with no power cables for the hash modules and FPGA controller and some of them are also missing case screws and the case screw hole threads are stripped on other units.  I will post a more detailed review outlining the performance and issues with each unit I received when I get the missing parts but in the meantime I strongly caution buyer beware for this vendor.
