[ANN] WoofCoin / New Coin [WOFC] GPU Mining/PoW
by
mpadhu
on 10/01/2023, 17:05:53 UTC

WOOF COIN

Since the beginning of the pandemic, pet surrendering rates have increased dramatically around the world. Waitlists for surrendering household pets have increased to a remarkable eight months as animal shelters and welfare organisations have seen an increase of 34% for animals needing help.

Typically, animal shelters are under resourced and under financed; relying heavily on donations and the volunteer efforts to assist animals.

This is where Woof Coin steps in. As avid lovers of dogs, we wanted to make a difference. Using the power of Proof of Work mining, we’ve created a coin where miners are contributing to the donation of money to animal welfare shelters. These shelters initially include the ASPCA who already have a cryptocurrency donation mechanism but with intention to expand to the RSPCA and other organizations suggested by the community.

Our aim is to put animals first and we intend on developing ongoing relationships with pet shelters to help adoption.

Coins Specifications
21 billion supply
Block 2,100,000 halving (4 years estimated)
Algorithm: KawPOW
Proof of Work

Re: A very bad GPU 😡

The 1660 gives approx 22MH/s. Some cards perform bit lower than the expected MH/s irrespective of whatever OC settings. We have to remember that same brand GPU of same model with same memory chip and batch number performs differently.

Appling the OC settings in the AMD Radeon Software after system reboot
by
mpadhu
on 10/08/2021, 13:05:35 UTC
Hi Guys,

I am using AMD Radeon Software's Tuning option to overclock my two RX580 cards. Getting a decent ~29Mh without bios mod. The OC settings remains intact when I manually reboot the rig but the OC settings is reset to default when the rig reboots after a power failure. Is there any way to fix this or Is there any way to apply the OC settings in the AMD Radeon Software by running a batch file at start up?. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Additional info:
Using nicehash miner in Windows 10.

The RM1000x comes with 4 PCIe cables with 2 6+2 connectors on each cable. How did you get 5 cables?

Thank you for your repsonse. I have got this PSU from another person. He has a lot of cables so I got 5 PCIE cables from him.

Thank you all for your time and response.
My riser(VER 009) has a 6 pin connector. I have used one sata line to power one riser. So 4 individual Sata lines powers 4 risers. But have to use a 'SATA to 6 pin converter' cable which is of 18AWG, 300V, 80deg C. Runs fine with no heat at the connect junctions. One GPU is placed on the mobo itself.

I have 5 PCIE cables running from the PSU. Each PCIE cable has 2 x 8 pin connectors. So after connecting 5 GPUs, I still have 5 PCIE connectors freely hanging. I believe that these 5 PCIE connectors can be used to power the risers.

TDP of RX580 is 185W
TDP of 1070 is 150W
TDP of 1060 is 120W
TDP of 1660ti is 120W

I have 7 1660 super, 1x3060 and 1x3060ti connected to an RM1000x, I recommend using molex risers and if you need to use SATA I recommend it only for low consumption cards like the 1660 but still only one riser per cable.

Can you please explain how did you manage the cables to connect 9 GPUs along with the risers to the PSU.

Need help in managing the cables in Corsair RM1000X for mining with 5 GPUs

Hi Guys,

I just got a used Corsair RM1000X PSU and planning to mine with 5 GPUs(1060 6GB, 1070 8GB, 1660 ti, 2 x Rx580). I am currently mining with these 5 cards in two different PCs and I wanted to make it as one with the help of RM1000X PSU.

By browsing the internet I can see that powering the risers with SATA is not a good idea as it can burn out any time. So I wanted to make use of 6 pin connector to power the riser. Need suggestion from experts on how to manage these five cards with the RM1000X PSU.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Guys,

I have a couple of GPUs which I am using for mining in my personal PC.  Just wanted to build a separate dedicated system for mining so I can do my personal work in my personal PC.

Please suggest Motherboard, Processor and RAM all below Rs.10,000. (Prefering onbaord 2 or 3 PCIE slots where I can directly install the two GPUs, if not I am fine with risers model).

Thanks in advance.

Re: Mining with Motherboard ASUS A8V-VM

on 29/11/2020, 04:31:41 UTC
I have not experimented with old hardware, but I will say that the old motherboard and processor have a higher power consumption. For example, a new motherboard and processor will consume 40-50 watts and yours 80-100 watts.
You may have problems with this hardware.

Try to install Linux OS for mining and check the result, if it does not work out, you can buy inexpensively asus m5a78l-m lx3 + x2 CPU( X2 240,X2 245) + 4 GB DDR3.

Thanks for your time and response. I just dusted the computer after 5 years and I turned it on. It booted like a charm. Will give a try.

Hey guys,

I currently mine with my personal computer with two graphics cards 1060 and 1070. I have an old computer lying around so I am planning to dedicate this old computer specifically for mining. The motherboard is quite old ASUS A8V-VM with AMD Athlon 64 processor. 3GB DDR1 RAMs. This motherboard has 1 x PCIE16 and 1 x PCIE slots. It can fit a GPU in PCIE16 slot and have to install a riser for PCIE slot. Will this motherboard be able handle this?.

Software to calculate KWh of GPUs
by
mpadhu
on 16/11/2019, 01:25:32 UTC
Hey,

Just wondering if there is any software to calculate KWh usage of GPUs. I know it's not possible to calculate the power used by HDD, Mobo, PSU itself, Monitor, etc.  The miner command prompt shows the Watts usage per card and the total Watts used in an hour by displaying KWh data.
Something like below.

Code:
06:51:45 Total Speed: 61.2 Sol/s Shares Accepted: 32 Rejected: 0 Power: 282W 0.22 Sol/W
06:51:45 Uptime: 0d 00:08:27 [b]Electricity: 0.037kWh[/b]

Here the Electricity in KWh shows the total power used but usually the miner looks for more profit coin so this data starts from first when a new coin is mined.
Is there any software that could show the total power consumed by GPUs in KWh?

I use a similar device and I want to say that this model is more perfect has not seen. completely fulfills its function, the cards are fine and work without vsyakiz subsidence speed

Can you please send some photos of the device while running. Or a video link is also fine.
So the one USB cable is able to handle the four GPUs?.

1. My mobo model is F2A88XM-D3H. Below is the link.
https://www.gigabyte.com/in/Motherboard/GA-F2A88XM-D3H-rev-30#ov

i am definite that the 1 to 4 pcie riser slots is not at all going to work with this motherboard
moreover i read a lot about these and these expansion cards had good success with amd cards but not at all with nvidia cards
so i will recommend avoiding them entirely

Sad Okay. I am currently mining in my home PC with two GPUs installed in this motherboard. Thought that this raiser would help me in adding some more GPUs. Is there any other way to increase the GPUs along with my current setup?.
There is another 1 to 4 PCIE riser that has four USB cables each connecting to a riser as shown below. Anyway this differ from the above one?

You are asking for trouble. Much better off with a second mobo.

There is a space constraint and that is the reason I chose this riser model. I have mentioned my rig config in the above comment.

That depends on the number of PCI-lanes (not slots) of you Mobo and firmware compatibility,
if it's a low-end mobo with old procie (typical 2-slot MoBo), it wont work.

You'll never know unless you try, or...
You should provide your Rig's specs (MoBo model and processor) to know if anyone who have the same model have tried a '1-4 riser' that worked.
A random guy who said "yes" but with different specs won't be reliable.

1. My mobo model is F2A88XM-D3H. Below is the link.
https://www.gigabyte.com/in/Motherboard/GA-F2A88XM-D3H-rev-30#ov

2. Processor:  AMD A10 7850K APU.

Right now this motherboard is handling GTX 1060 and GTX 1070 cards. I wanted to use risers to increase the number of cards and also I wanted to keep them ventilated. Due to space constraint this 1 to 4 PCIE riser seems best fit for me since it just uses one USB Cable to connect to 4 GPUs.

Hi Guys,

Just came across a riser which is 1 to 4 PCIE riser. That is, We can connect 4 GPUs with just 1 PCIE slot with the help of this riser. Attached is the image.
Have anyone tried it before? If yes then please let me know your thoughts and requesting others to provide your opinion on this product.

To all those who replied in this thread about electricity. I am planning to make my home to be powered by Solar completely but not because of mining. Since I planned of clean green energy, I also thought of mining with the free energy!.

100% solar? you may be overestimating the capacity of solar and battery storage systems.

run the numbers with (for example) a 6 card miner at say 600 watts 24/7 plus the misc house items that intermediately kick on and off. post them here.

there are some people here really good at solar and giving real life numbers, i will try to point them here if they dont see this thread.

Yup 100% Solar. 1.5KW of solar panels to power the light weight electronics like fan, tv, lights, etc. Not including the AC, Fridge for now. Will be adding more in the future.

It all depends on the cost of electricity. If it is free ( included in the rent, etc.) then mining will be beneficial in any case.
I also believe that mining is will be profitable if the cost of electricity become lowest. Cause for mining it’s need more power of electricity and now the cost of electricity is very costly for which we can't get sufficient profits from mining.

I am still mining and I think it will still be good for GPU mining for a little while to come.
There is a lot of cheap used mining gear around now so by used. some of the 6, 8 or 9 riserless gpu motherboards are good and very cheap now.
Its hard to go past used rx570 and rx580 cards at the moment they are so cheap. even vega56/64 cards are cheap.

How much do you earn per day from mining and what's your rig's configuration?
