How long were you gathering this great collection of resourses?

Well I've spent the last 6 months obsessing over Bitcoin, so I knew about a lot of these already, but the official list of links was made in about 20 hours of scouring Google for all the legit Bitcoin related sites I could find.

There are actually quite a few other great sites that I didn't find because they are hard to find on Google, so I'll have to do another big update sometime soon.

Hope you enjoy the site!

If you have any suggestions let me know.

Thanks, Windpath. I added Coin Cadence.

Pat1900, thanks for the feedback.

- removed the profile links (i figured they were default links, didn't realize they went to MY profile!)
- moved the BitcoinTalk links to the right side of the page, so the page will look a little cleaner. (I find Bitcointalk.org to be kind of a maze, so the sitemap helps me navigate.)
- fixed the bitcoin.fr link

I tend to like a clean, no frills aesthetic also, but I'm sacrificing that a little because I'm hoping to make this site insanely comprehensive. So, I'm putting in everything that might help people, and settling for "orderly" and "organized" instead of clean.

I just finished the draft of my Bitcoin Resources page, which is hopefully helpful for people just getting into Bitcoin, or veterans that would like a quick way to surf through several top Bitcoin sites...

www.bitcoinpants.com

Let me know if there are critical Bitcoin websites that the website is missing and I'll do my best to add them...

Thanks for your feedback.

BRAVO! CLAP CLAP

(Humbly bows.) Thank you, Promojo!

Any suggestions for improvement?

I'd like it to have every critical page that a Bitcoin fan could ever need Smiley

Forgot to mention, since I figured most of the people using BitcoinPants also hang out on BitcoinTalk occosionally, I added a sidebar on the left side of the page with quick links to every single page on the [Suspicious link removed]ite:

www.bitcoinpants.com

Thanks again for everyone's feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Nice collection, but you really should start carrying out a few basic tests of your page. Ever heard of
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_testing  Wink

Some 20 items in your list throw an Internal Server Error. Even worse, you didn't declare an error text and your server comes up with a Server Error 500.

Regarding the 20 items, thanks very much for the heads up. I was on a caffeinated cut and paste routine while setting the hyperlinks up and missed the http:// on those ones. All fixed now!

Regarding declaring error text and Server Error 500, I don't know what that means, but I'll Google it later today and do my best to fix it quickly!

Lumierre: Great video list! I plan to use a bunch of those and credit you on the page. Thanks mate

Leepsteer00: Thanks very much. The moral support is fuel for me to keep improving it Smiley

One suggestion. I always hate the confusion between "the blockchain" (the global decentralized P2P ledger that is the core of Bitcoin) and "blockchain.info", a website that offers several Bitcoin-related services.

In order to prevent people from mixing these up (which they do, especially noobs) I always explicitly mention it as "blockchain.info". For example "my blockchain.info wallet" rather than "my blockchain wallet". If you agree, you may wanna edit the two listings (for wallet and charts) by adding the .info part.

Great point, and I totally agree.

I updated the primary page to add the .info to both references, and also made the text bigger, due to popular demand.

I'll have to read up on how to make it responsive to page size.

Bitcointalk.org SiteMap section has been reserved on the right side of the table, and I'll hopefully finish it tomorrow.

S4 - Woah! Thanks so much for the heads up.

I spent all that time on the links and didn't even consider that maybe I screwed up the address.

Maybe I'm an optimist, but I feel that in the long run, this will be a positive thing for Dorian.

It's clear he's had some tension in his life, and some difficulty relating to people, and now he has a community of thousands of people that have affection for him, regardless of whether he's the "real Satoshi" or not.

The positive vibes of thousands of people being directed at a man with a difficult life can't help but be a good thing, in the long run, in my opinion.

Guys, can't tell you how thrilled I am to get your feedback! I'm still recovering from the super late night that I pulled while trying to finish it, so it's quite a relief to hear people like it and have ideas for improving it.

I'm pumped to get to work on your great suggestions, and I'll post here when they are implemented.

I had another idea for an addition that I'm curious to hear your take on. I feel like a lot of the useful [Suspicious link removed] on BitcoinPants that would have all the links on one layer, so you could get a birds eye view of the [Suspicious link removed]ite organization, and access any page with one click?

Got it, thanks.

Do you know of any way to set all 100+ links on the page to open=blank, all at once, through CSS or page preferences, so I don't have to do that 100+ times?

Should I have a section for bitcoin gambling and game sites?

In a crazy coincidence, I opened my wife's laptop just now and in her browser was a blog post talking about Huggies gamifying the testing process for their products, with a diaper being donated to charity every time a parent goes to their website and does a "game" which is really a product test. Pretty clever, and right along the lines of what we're talking about...

Regarding finding advertisers, you could poach them from Mechanical Turk. Because if they are willing to pay that to random workers on MT who are doing A/B comparison tests for them, with the money going to the MT workers and Amazon, they are certainly willing to pay that to a charity that accomplishes the same task, for the same or less money.

Regarding finding a programmer, can't help you there. I'm pretty good at coming up with the ideas, but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to the programming to get them done.

Oh right, thanks for bringing that up.

This was my first time using Dreamweaver & CSS, so I was planning on finding a way to set a "new page" CSS setting on the HTML links (if that's possible), but I couldn't figure it out how to do it, and then I forgot about it.

I'll get right on that. Thanks for the feedback. It's helpful.

Sounds like Franky1 and I are on the same page.

To flesh out the idea some more, A vs. B tests are one of the most basic ways of evaluating competing marketing ideas, so in it's first iteration, it could be a crowdsourced A vs B tester that donates the proceeds from each individual A to B test to charity.

To bring video into the picture, per Franky1's suggestion, you could have an option where the website visitor can watch two different commercials (for Coca Cola, for example), and then say which ad they like better.

A company like Coke gets quite a LOT of value from this, because not only do they find out which commercial is better, they have a fleet of people watching TWO of their commercials in a row.

So, you could definitely donate more than 100 satoshi per click.

If you "gamified" the whole thing, and had badges and points that people could win, people would get addicted to it, and you would earn a lot of money for a good cause.

I like the idea, but I think you should make it more interesting than a button.

Make it so they actually have to perform some very tiny task, like describe a picture in a few words, or say which version of a banner ad they like better.

Then, it is more interesting for the user, potentially even addicting, and you can collect money from the company that benefits from the work.

It would be like a charity version of Mechanical Turk...

More interesting for the user, more viral, and more money for the charity!

Re: Dorian's legal statement regarding Newsweek report of being Satoshi

In a way, the Blockchain is like a train that keeps adding cars, each one filled with a set of transactions.

Not saying Dorian invented it (I'm on the fence), but thinking about model trains has helped me imagine how someone might approach inventing something like the Blockchain.

Out of curiosity, if he's lying about not being involved (hypothetically speaking), are there any legal repercussions for him making a public statement that is completely deceptive?

Seems like someone could deny something without technically breaking the law, so I'm not convinced by the legal letter, by itself, although some of the other arguments showing why he's not the guy (like Mike Hearn's post) are very convincing.

Also, everyone seems to assume that it's a binary question, that Dorian either WAS or WASN'T Satoshi, but it seems very possible to me that SN was a cadre of people working on the issue, and Dorian was just one member of a team of people.

Personally, if I was the guy who invented it, I'd very much like to have someone else write the paper!

Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if the font was too small.

I wanted to have it small so people would be able to see nearly all the links at once, and get a nice birds eye view of the whole Bitcoin landscape, but there should definitely be a version with bigger text.

I'll work on that and let you know when it's done!
