Re: Why do you believe soup is good for your health?
by

It depends on the type of soup.  If it is with lots of veggies then it is good for you.  If it is just meat and lots of excess oils floating, then surely it will not provide you good benefits.  But soup, in general, is healthy.  It not just makes you full but also hydrates your body.

Re: How to stop overthinking?

One thing I did before is every morning, I list down at least 10 things that I am thankful for the day before.  It trains my brain to have that positive mental attitude.  Moreover, it helps me to reflect that there are many good things happening around me, I just need to have the eye to see and ears to listen.

Re: Do you mind being alone?

I think it is not that being alone, it is the state of loneliness that we are afraid of.  You can be alone but secured at the same time that people love you.  However, loneliness is a different case.  It is a state wherein you think that you cannot find company in other people - no connection.

Re: Russia can evade sanction through cryptocurrencies

It is not about sanctioning your money but it is the identity attached to that money.  So when they sanction or prohibit russian governments then they will mark the people and not just their bank accounts.  So they will be prohibited to use any accounts with their name on it.

I think what you are really saying is the physical card will be obsolete.  Well, that might be the case in the near future since most banks and e-wallets are transitioning to QR code.  By having only QR code which is in your phone, it is more convenient for the consumer and no need to hold or get a physical card for transaction.

Know your appetite, or manage your risks.  This is just a simple phrase but not that easy to apply.  This just means that when you invest your money, you need to make sure that the risks involve are manageable on your part, you can sleep at night and will not affect your mental health.

In economics, you can define luxury goods as a good for which demand increases more than proportionally as income rises.  In other words, as people become wealthier, they will buy more and more of the luxury good.

In economy depression, since the income of people become lower, then you cannot expect people to avail luxury goods but more on basic necessities like food and clothing.

Re: The role of private sector involvement in Economic growth
by

on 24/05/2024, 16:42:13 UTC
One of the major role of private sector in economic growth is public-private partnership (PPP).  The government wants to have a public service that needs to be provided to the public, however, they do not have sufficient resources to provide the said service (i.e., roads, bridges, railways, airports).  Hence, they engage the private sector to build the infrastructures in return of some profit.

Re: Economic Implications of War on Individuals
by

- do you have any survival tips during war period?
if you are not in the country involved in the war, then you just go with your daily lives.  If you live in that country, then you need to be aware of the daily news and act accordingly.

- are there any business that I can do during a period of war so as to sustain my family? Can I still budget, save and earn in Bitcoin?
Learn the major product of the countries involved in the war and avoid that like a plague.

- What is the economic impacts on individuals with families and how do I sustain them during war period.
Prices of goods from the war inflicted countries will rise up because the supply will go down.  Hence, better make preparations of seeking cheaper alternatives of that goods.

Re: What is The Negative Effect of Inflation on Household Savings?
by

The bank interest rates are dependent on inflation.  If inflation is high, the banks discourage you to spend money by raising the interest rates.  You will be discouraged to make a loan but will be encouraged to put your money in the bank and will not be spend by you.  By this, money in circulation will become lower and will also lower inflation.

How I wish it is very easy to be an outlier (top 1 %) of this world.  In reality, most of us are just average earners and in order to achieve higher, we need effort and also resources.  We need people who will help us.  It not just about making effort alone but people who will open doors and opportunities for us to propel moving forward.

Capital can be in many forms.  The time that you will spend to learn and grow your business is one of your main capital, even though no monetary capital but you need to invest human capital in your business.  Each individual's time is precious, including you.  The time that you will spend on growing your business is the time that you will spend less on other things such as leisure, family, academics.

Re: Take care of your money and learn to save.

Per study, there is a specific age range where your physical self and career peak (including your salary).  And because of that, you can save some portions of it and invest to grow and/or use it for later.  We need to learn to save now so that we have to spend in the future.  In my culture, it is saddening to see children providing for their parents because their parents did not save during their peak career years.  Let us break that cycle.

Re: Money is all wealth?
by

This post is similar to another post and i want to quote myself:

"You want good health? you need money for membership in the gym , buy a bike, get running shoes, eat healthy food.  You want to sleep early at night? you need to have sufficient money to stop grinding or working overtime.  It is really difficult to get what you want without money."

and hence, yes.  I agree with what you said that money makes the world go round and it is not just a want but a need in order to survive this capitalistic world.

ahmm, i think by making this kind of claim it would be wise to cite any references to make your claim credible.  That aside, I think people just want to attain something and most of those things need money.  You want good health? you need money for membership in the gym , buy a bike, get running shoes, eat healthy food.  You want to sleep early at night? you need to have sufficient money to stop grinding or working overtime.  It is really difficult to get what you want without money.

Re: What is your favorite currency after Bitcoin?

Before, I am quite confident on WAX.  Since the rise of NFT, WAX is a promising choice for this.  The ecosystem of WAX is really suitable for NFT.  But now, since NFT is not the trend and shift to other means of cryptocurrency, I am a bit doubtful if WAX is still relevant.  I am currently researching other crypto now and hopefully to earn some bucks in the process.

Re: Mobile phone addiction

Mobile phone become a necessity nowadays.  It really integrate in our life already.  Approximately, I am using around a minimum of 5 hours in mobile phone. I use it in responding calls and chat related to work, in my masteral degree for thesis and readings, in having leisure readings and games.

To further prevent myself from being dependent on it, I always make sure that I have a time off.  Sometimes, I just left my phone in the house and do not touch it for the whole day.  This helps me to detox from it and take my time to experience other things than mobile phone.

What you said is really true.  In my case, my self investment is prioritizing my health.  I am trying to get enough and sufficient sleep always.  I also enrolled in a gym to have regular exercise (muscle training and cardio).  By taking care of my body, this will help me in a long run.  Also, back pain have been lessened since then.  I also encourage others to invest on yourself, one way is to take care of your body.

Re: Dropped out of my Philosophy course, also taking a further break

I think you got an awful teacher for an interesting course.  You can ask your friends or online who already took the course that you desire for their evaluation prior enrolling and availing the course.  By doing this, you can infer if the course will suit you or not.

Anyway, I just want to also say that take a good break, OP.  Hopefully, you will get a new course that suits you very well.  For now, take advantage of the break to rest and recover.
