Used Bitinstant today.  Got my money deposited in like 5 minutes.  Did two different transactions.  Very satisfied.

I suggest going to your destination site though.  I went to mtgox and to blockchain.info and created accounts and followed their directions.

I also tried just going to Bitinstant and doing it directly, but somehow it didn't load right and it was confusing and a waste of time.

A very important thing is to check your email account for all the final directions.

Overall A+.  There are tons of locations in town where I could use cash to deposit into Bitinstant.  Just get ready to fill out the paperwork.  Takes a few minutes.

I also used bitinstant today and I got my money in 3 minutes. Every transaction I have had with them has been smooth except for my first one and that was resolved quickly. I have never been scammed and I know of no one that has been scammed.

It's really great to see BitInstant get all up in this thread and have someone dedicated to resolving the issues in here. I hope that gives everyone the warm fuzzy that they are not scamming people. Sometimes there are just issue with technology. With some many interfaces and API's errors are bound to occur. With the recent run on Bitcoin the amount of transactions have increased dramatically. It is nice to see BitInstant is getting serious about getting issues resolved and earning our trust back.

don't see mt.gox as an option on bitinstant anymore.
I'm guessing they pulled it temporarily to catch up with orders and such.

If BitInstant can't scale up as Bitcoin becomes a world class currency, then they deserve to fail.

Me personally?  I am finally doing what I should have done - I am verifying my MtGox account.  Then I can fund directly from Dwolla and won't have to pay 20 per $1000.  This is horse-shit.

But you are still going to use Bitinstant, right? Also when you dump funds into Dwolla they hold them for 7 days. You can't do anything.

That really depends.  It would be hard to say at this point because I did my 'instant' transfer on Thursday - got answers late Friday.  I was very upset, having lost the opportunity to buy back in at $77.00 (had it been instant), knowing that I HAD timed things right and now, it's nearly 4 days later, and we are nearing $100.00 again on Gox - I got several emails explaining things but no resolution.

Last I heard it was queued and would process, Friday night, blaming the MtGox API and DDOS attack.  But, MtGox is fast now, and volume is only 21k (rare to see it that low).  If Bitinstant were my business, I certainly would not take the weekend off - nor would I leave this many people hanging for so long.

Not worried about Dwolla. I can deal with a system where I know they are going to hold my money for 7 days - I just maintain $5-7k there so I don't have to wait to make transfers. (the bank pays no interest anyway.)

Well, we will see what happens when Yankee resurfaces tomorrow.  If he handles things, I will try one more - within unspoken limits and see if it goes through.

You do realize that the only reason that the price went down to $77.00 was because Mt.Gox was under a DDOS attack. No one got coin at that price because the orders could no go through. You were not going to get that price anyway. Second thing was you violated the terms of service for using Bitinstant by trying to slip $3000 dollars into the system. I think Charlie is being gracious by even considering letting the transaction thru considering the legal ramifications for him. You do realize he doesn't have to do anything, could probably tie you money up for a significant amount of time while investigating before refunding it to you. Just be nice and respectful and Charlie will push your transaction thru as soon as it's legally possible for him to do it. There has been zero evidence of them trying to scam anyone yet people come in here and say it all the time. Most of the time it is because of their own error or an API error that is outside of their control. Give them some time and they will get it fixed for ya.

Oh yeah just like most businesses they don't work weekends.

I just read the TOS and it says $1000 not $500. So which is it? $1000 or $500?

I think this

http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9237979/Bitcoin_exchange_faces_DDoS_even_as_the_digital_currency_surges?source=rss_news_analysis&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+computerworld%2Fs%2Ffeed%2Ftype%2Fnewsanalysis+%28Computerworld+News+Analysis%29

might be responsible for the failed Mt.Gox orders last night. Mt.Gox was under a DDOS attack which caused the price to drop form $95-$70. So I would suspect that bitinstant is not to blame for last night.

What the holy ****? Can I at least get an email from someone saying that my ticket is in the Queue? I haven't heard back from anyone at bitinstant in 3 weeks.

This should be simple:
a) I have a Moneygram Receipt saying I SENT CASH to bitinstant.
b) I have an email confirmation from bitinstant saying they got my money. That email claims that the bitcoins were sent to 17Ra2DFtB8o7W8CByJ3k3xk1K5NbaaFSkf.
c) Anyone can look at the blockchain - the 18.52793 BTC were NEVER sent to 17Ra2DFtB8o7W8CByJ3k3xk1K5NbaaFSkf.

What else can I do? I've been missing the bitcoins since FEBRUARY 12 - I can be patient and wait if I just got an email... SOMETHING from customer support. I've been writing and getting nothing back.

WHERE ARE MY BITCOINS, BITINSTANT?

I MY BITCOINS ARE *STILL* MISSING for OrderID: dfa0163f-84ac-4f65-9f1b-ed36393be6e7. {'BTC': 18.527930000000001} - This order has not been completed - despite an email from bitinstant saying the order was completed on FEBRUARY 12!

this was a payment that should have gone directly to a bitcoin address.

I have emailed customer support multiple times on this issue. I have yet to receive an answer as to why the coins were never sent to me, just emails from ladesk saying my ‘funds will be deposited within the next business day.’  I have emailed customer support on:
February 13
February 18
February 19
February 21
February 23
February 25
February 26
March 2
March 6
March 7
March 11
March 12

This is incredibly frustrating. I have the receipt from where I used moneygram to transfer the cash to bitinstant. I have a ‘confirmation’ email from bitinstant. But the coins were NEVER sent to the address.

*SHORT SUMMARY*
On February 12, 13, and 15  I made 6 transactions total through bitinstant. 5 of them went through. for the 6th, I received email confirmation, but the coins were NOT transferred. There is NO record of this 6th order on the blockchain.

*MORE DETAILED SUMMARY*
I made the following orders on bitinstant:

OrderID: 2fac918a-0b2c-4fb4-8337-d38e05e43946
OrderID: 8162013c-f5c1-4612-a3de-a63ba4fc8281
OrderID: 2f5ad484-ea19-4c09-bd0a-065fdd760f9f
OrderID: 16e871ff-0552-45c7-b6e2-c4bb12e78510
OrderID: 5caa36be-2d7c-4145-a810-ceacf6018fb0 (“5caa”) (this order initially resulted in a link to an empty coinapult account, but the issue was resolved)

STILL MISSING:
OrderID: dfa0163f-84ac-4f65-9f1b-ed36393be6e7 (“dfa0”)

I *DID* get an email claiming that the funds for “dfa0” were transferred, but the tech support email referenced a transaction on the blockchain that was the result of the “5caa” bitinstant order.

the “5caa” bitinstant order initially had a problem with it as well, but that issue HAS been resolved. (support ticket [AEN-JUNJV-733] )

Here are the same 5 *CLEARED* transactions in greater detail, with links to the transactions on blockchain.info. You can verify that every one of these transactions is related to a bitinstant order - and NONE of these are linked to the missing bitcoins.

Hopefully, this information will be enough for you to send the missing 18.52793 BTC to 17Ra2DFtB8o7W8CByJ3k3xk1K5NbaaFSkf.

This is really messed up because they have been all over the forums helping other people during this time. I remember you posting for the last several weeks. I wonder if it has to do with the increase in coin prices. Those 18BTC are now worth $1300 more than when ordered them. On the flip side they have done you a favor by holding your coins but on the other side they might not want to take a $1300 loss and that is why your order is still pending.

No I am saying you can use either and most people don't know that and most people screw up their account number. If you use your number and it works for you then continue to use that. I find it easier to just use my account name.

SO CAN SOMEONE SAY IS BITINSTANT SAFE TO USE FOR ZIPZAP -> MTGOX ?

Yes, it should be virtually instant. Put your Mt.Gox account NAME in the form where it says Mt. Gox Account #. Just did one yesterday and it hit Gox in under 60 seconds.

Like I said before MoneyGram -> Mt.Gox is virtually instant. The one thing I will STRESS is don't use your Mt.Gox Account # like the form says. Elsewhere on the site it says that when filling this form you can use EITHER your Mt.Gox Account # or your account name. I have used my account name several times as recently as yesterday and never had an issue. I do know if you use your Mt.Gox account number it is not exactly the number shown on Mt.Gox you have to modify the number slightly for it to work. The safest thing is to just use your account name (remember the proper case sensitivity). If you do that your order will go thru. I am not sure where I read this, it might have been somewhere here in the support thread many pages back where it was suggested to use your account name instead.

I don't  know why you guys are having so many issues. I just made my 3rd successful deposit in to my Mt.Gox account this week. Each time the money hit my Mt.Gox account within 1 minute of the MoneyGram going thru. I don't know about the other options but I can assure you the MoneyGram -> Mt.Gox is working just fine. I will say that when I fill out my form with Bitinstant that I use my Mt.Gox account name and not my account number and I have never had an issue. The only time I have ever had an issue with Bitinstant was going MoneyGram -> Btc.e.com and that was due to low reserves. Never had an issue MoneyGram -> Mt.Gox.

Has anyone had success recently transferring cash deposit to Mtgox? Does my mt gox account have to be verified to send there to buy btc at market?

I did a Moneygram and Mt.Gox transfer on Sunday night and it went right thru in under an hour. I will say that I used my Mt.Gox username and not my account number when I did the transfer. Don't know if that makes any difference but that is what worked for me.

Just to reassure some. I did a Moneygram to Mt. Gox transfer tonight and it was in my account before I got back home. So that option is working very well.

I see where btc-e.com is now availbale again. I just checked their reserves on btc-e.com and its:

BitInstant: 48641 USD

I would recommend going MoneyGram - btc-e.com since it appears they have reserves available once again.

I saw the message that btc-e.com was fully funded this morning. I  just checked and they have $1 reserves there. I hope a bunch of people got paid. I would suggest contacting them and having it sent to Mt. Gox instead. My order from 2/19 was funded yesterday.

Well just like that within 10 minutes I got my money on Mt. Gox (and they refunded my fees!), thanks to rachel. I would suggest if offered an alternate exchange that you take it.

It has now been a week I have been waiting on my order to btc-e.com. I was told last night my Rachel that they would have reserves at btc-e.com last night and my order would be fullfilled. This really leaves a bad taste i my mouth as this was my first ever bitcoin transaction. Many people want bitcoin to flourish but I can tell you that it never will as long as things like this keep happening and you have no recourse to retrieve your funds.

I just got a reply from Rachel, she told me reserves on btc-e.com will be fixed tonight and my order will process tonight. This was after they offered to send to Mt. Gox or bitstamp. I don't have an account on either so that was not an option at this point for me.
