Re: Crypto Party list sa pinas ginagawa na.

Kayo susuportahan nyo ba ang party list group nato na mag represent satin crypto users sa congress?

Ano opinyon nyo dito?

I would definitely support this party-list given na may maganda dapat silang platform. Alam naman natin yung mga magandang naibibigay ng cryptocurrencies sa ating mga kapwa pinoy kaya kapag nagkakaroon ng party list na designated para dito, mas lalawak ang reach nito and mas maeexpose ito.

In the event na maboto sila as a valid party-list sa next elections, then people would be curious and start asking questions kung ano ba talaga ang cryptocurrencies. With curiosity comes with experimentation and eventually magiging part na ito ng kanilang daily routine.

In conclusion, anything na nagbibigay exposure ng cryptocurrency dito sa ating bansa ay isang welcome na gesture na dapat din natin supportahan kasi in the long-run, tayo din ang mag bebenefit dito.

Re: Something is far more valuable than Bitcoin.

Well I don't regret what happen if i missed bitcoin, besides bitcoin and other token, save me during the pandemic, I thought me and my mother will end up in the streets since we don't have money, but god had a way to save you, he will do things that you don't expect, i thought I'm not gonna make it today, those money that i spend on food bills and hospital, crypto help me a lot, so i don't regret if I'm starting again from scratch, there is still hope i can still make it, even if its slow, still there is progress.

This was my regret back in 2017 where I could've saved all of my BTCs that I earned from campaign signatures. Unfortunately and fortunately, I was able to save at least 10% of my total accumulated BTCs that rendered me some good value until now.

Now that I know better, long-term HODLing is the key for BTC especially when you consider its price history. Like what OP mentioned, our 2017 is not the same as your 2020. Every person has their hits, misses, and regrets. But what makes everything worthwhile is that we are in this community and knowledgeable about the existence of cryptocurrencies.

Yeah life is very important, just like they say Health is wealth. But the reason why most folk did not invested in bitcoin back then (2017) is because most was not familiar with it or have no information about it then , imagine I had the knowledge I have now I would have done myself a favor then and invest in bitcoin, maybe by now I would be saying all the struggle then actually worth it due to bitcoin amazing performance in the past years .

But  the good thing is that more opportunity is yet to come , and I will be ready to grab them , death is certain but how you live your life is what counts , so be humble and be nice and live your life the best way you can .

I would admit that during 2017 (which was also the time I started in this forum), only a handful of my friends knew the existence of BTC. It wasn't as widespread compared today given that some have already told their stories profiting from this venture.

Re: Is it still gambling if you're sure you're going to win?
by
qwertyup23
on 25/07/2025, 13:17:54 UTC
There are event you can predict on that even though it's not 💯 guaranteed that you're going to win,  a level of certainty makes you think that you're surely going to win.

The downside of that feeling is that you might become over confident to use a big amount in the game since you're to a large extent certain that you're going to win.

Can we still say we are gambling if the event is something we are at least 90% sure that we are going to win?

I think you answered your own question- even if there is a high chance of CERTAINTY that you will going to win, it is still considered gambling UNLESS the result is absolute.

Gambling is a game of chance. You are pretty much aware that even the slightest odds of winning may be in or against your favor depending on your general luck. So even if you argue that a person has 90% chance of winning, never discount the possibility of that 10% even if the odds are still 99% against 1.

At the end of the day, gambling is all about luck. What gives gambling the sensation of anxiety and adrenaline is its nature of not being absolute but random. Even if the odds may be in your favour, nothing is still absolute in this environment.

Re: What is been professional like to you?
by

on 25/07/2025, 11:44:15 UTC
Is been responsible with gambling all it takes to be a professional gambler or someone needs to win in the process many times already to be considered a professional gambler?

A professional gamblers is a person who relies on gambling as their work in order to receive income. In order to understand it easier, think of it as a normal office/corporate job where you earn money. But in this case, what that professional gambles does is to gamble all the time as a professional poker player.

Quote
What is a been qualified as a professional gambler in your own world? The winning part or the responsible part of trying to avoid addiction is all.

Like what I mentioned above, a professional gambler is a person who makes gambling as their livelihood since they are employed to represent tournaments within the gambling environment. The best example here would be professional poker players who are consistently televised across all media. They are considered professionals given that they are employed to gamble and to win tournaments.

The only way para talagang maiwasan ang mga ganitong uri ng scam is to always be vigilant and responsible. Always remind yourself na if something is too good to be true, then assume na scam or fake project ito for your own protection and good.

Re: Why are you taking profit on bitcoin?
by
qwertyup23
on 24/07/2025, 16:37:14 UTC
Sure everyone as the right to used there money the way the like, you can't stop that. People invested in bitcoin because of making profit not to continue holding without benefiting from the investment. Anyone have is on choice on what to used there profit for, some invest in Katherine assets and some used the money for luxuries things. Everyone have the freedom to spend anything they have because is there property and you can't control that. Bitcoin is not a small investment and when you achieve your goals definitely you need to make your self happy to buy things that will make you feel good.
It is true that we cannot stop people from doing what they want to do with their money because it is not your money to spend with although some people do make use of their money to the price of bitcoin even though it won't last for long but during that time some people may change their decision on what they want to do before or in short spreading FUD so that they can earn profit. Well anyway, it is also the same for them where they can't stop us from doing what we want with our own money.

At the end of the day, cryptocurrency investments are called "investments" for a reason- you cash out whenever you feel the need to use it.

The purpose of investments are to receive returns in a given period. Additionally, you can also consider them as storing money that could either increase or decrease in value depending on the market fluctuation of its price. But you should always treat your investments as stored cash whenever an emergency arises financially.

I mean, what's the point of still keeping your investments stored when you are experiencing financial and economic crisis at your end? That is the reason on why some people invest short-term in BTCs and take advantage of its volatility in the market.

Re: Which is more regrettable?
by
qwertyup23
on 24/07/2025, 07:39:55 UTC
Let's say when gambling, you follow a specific pattern. Let us use lottery for example. You bet on the same specific set of numbers. What would be more regrettable? Betting on the same set of numbers for the rest of your life and not winning or... changing up the set you bet on only for your old set to win?

Basically, would you rather bet on the same thing again and again then regret not exploring more or explore different kinds of bets then miss out on a win?

It's basically changing-up the set of your numbers that you consistently used then only to discover that your old pattern won.

I have the perfect story to share with everyone regarding this experience. As some may have read, my father is an avid gambler and he consistently bets on lottery. For more than twenty (20) years of his life, he used to bet on a specific sequence of numbers and he never changed or altered any of it. But then there was this one day where he changed his last number from twenty (20) to twenty-two (22) to match the birthdate of his new wife.

Then... lo and behold, my father won the lottery by hitting five (5) numbers- BUT he was about to win the WHOLE jackpot if he had stuck to his old pattern including that number twenty. I remember him shouting and cursing at the same time and till this day he chases that win again.

Re: The "Lottery Ticket" Mentality
by

<..snip..>
Are you that type of gambler that has kind of mentality? It could be that is obviously flawed in the beginning so there could be gamblers that are now willing, or maybe as I have said, we might have been using it already but we just didn't know.

Nope I usually stick with my plan whenever I gamble and when that plan does not go well, I just usually call it a day and stop.

The person whom you described is my father- he tends to push his luck further thinking that even the smallest odds will be in his favour. Before he used to engage in cockfighting and even built a designated farm breeding fighting chickens for such purpose. Currently, he still gambles via purchasing lottery tickets (though he even won 4-5 numbers in the past).

With that kind of mentality, it sets it as a dangerous precedent especially if it develops and evolves as your main strategy. Without realizing it, you would be just surprised to see that most of your resources would be exhausted in the process.

Re: When gambling what do you measure? Luck or chances?
by
qwertyup23
on 24/07/2025, 04:37:20 UTC
<..snip..>
I believe people who gamble on sports may understand this better since sometimes in sports betting some gambler's prefer to go for the smaller odds that usually have a higher winning chance and sometimes they can still end up a losing game however some prefer to go for the big game with big odds and smaller winning chances.

What's usually your pick as a gambler since sometimes some persons are luckier than others?

When I used to gamble back in college, I often pick gambling on online games which provides skins as the currency of their platform. A specific example here would be Dota 2 and CSGO since these games have this item called "keys" where you could open crates for a chance of getting a super rare skin.

Given that keys in those games have a price of $1.99 back in 2014 onwards, it was used as the main currency in betting between games and other tournaments. Additionally, as someone who also played those games with so much time invested, I could call myself as an "expert" when it comes to betting against teams since I have an idea which team would most LIKELY win.

The question is- is it called luck, strategy, or skill? I would definitely answer it as a little mix of both given that there were countless of times where the underdog defeated Goliath in an upset matchup.

Re: Let discuss our experiences in Bitcointalk and in cryptocurrency
by
qwertyup23
on 23/07/2025, 16:21:20 UTC
I was first introduced to this forum (and cryptocurrency as a whole) way back in 2017 when I was still a struggling college student. After having this conversation about watches with my good friend, he quickly recommended me this forum as a way of earning income solely by participating in campaign signatures.

At first I was doubtful about the opportunities that this forum brought given that everything seemed too good to be true. But I quickly learned about the potentials of BTC and its long-term usage after spending more time in this forum thru reading discussions and threads from experienced users.

In conclusion, this forum provided me the opportunity to learn about cryptocurrencies. Not only did this forum enabled me to invest but it also indirectly helped my family when I was struggling financially back in college (with the help of participating in campaign signatures and converting those BTCs to our local currency).

Re: What is the cost of your mistakes?

<..snip..>
So, how much did your mistakes cost? Did they cause you a serious psychological blow?

Ever since I lost a relatively considerable amount of money on my end during my college days, it actually taught me to be more careful and doubtful upon myself.

Sure, you could say that I became careful to the point that I always choose the safest path of all but it also eliminated the trait of being a risk-taker on my end. While it may not be as serious compared to other answers provided by others, it took a huge toll on my personality knowing that I became indecisive from being more assertive to my decision-making as a whole.

Quote
What were your mistakes, did you learn from these mistakes and do you apply this knowledge in practice now? Were these mistakes simply painful, dramatic or catastrophic?

Like what I mentioned above, I did learn from my past mistakes and I am able to apply my "careful" personality to my overall welfare. Mistakes that I made were painful not only financially but also mentally on my part given that I used to be more of a risk-taker type of guy in the past.

Re: Would you allow your underage kid to use your detail for KYC after a big win.
by

on 23/07/2025, 09:28:03 UTC
If my child won a huge jackpot, then by all means he can use my personal ID in order to pass the required KYC verifaction.

While this may be the case here, as a parent also, I would definitely take measures in order for this kind of event to never happen again. Additionally, knowing that my underage child engages into gambling, such measures would be focused on remedying this kind of problem as this would cause more financial distress on his part if this becomes his habit in the long run.

In conclusion, while winning a huge jackpot by my underage child is a big win for the whole family, the problem here would be preventing my child to avoid engaging into gambling regularly for his own benefit and welfare.

Re: Government banning of casinos are at their own loss.
by
qwertyup23
on 23/07/2025, 06:39:00 UTC
If there's any government officials reading this
You said religious reasons is the reason such countries banned gambling. You should know that your post does not count at all to them. They will prefer to just ban gambling unless they see the world more modern and think in another direction. And a lot of things may be considered and gambling may be restricted everywhere than maybe in tourist centres which is common in own or two Muslim countries now.

There are countries who have multiple religions being practiced at their area. If gambling was prohibited because of one (1) religion among all the religions being practiced, then they are violating the common rule of separation against the Church and the State since they ruled in favor of such.

Similarly to what I mentioned before, the government must balance the interest of the State in generating revenue and the moral consideration of addiction brought by gambling. If the government absolutely prohibits gambling, then they are bound to find alternative means of generating revenue equal to how much gambling brings to a certain country.

Most popular services. You can use some unknown VPN or deploy your own VPN as i did. If someone need - he can find a way to break restrictions, but common gambler would prefer to stop the game. If restrictions would be not enough to decrease gamblers quantity - government can improve fines for example.
Can we really call those who constantly pass restrictive and prohibitive laws smart and wise rulers? This is simply absurd. They shoot themselves in the foot, and then complain that the budget lacks money due to a poorly organized tax collection process. After all, the legal gambling business brings in a lot of money for the country's income. So why should it be banned? This is some kind of nonsense and short-sightedness of those in power.

I definitely agree with you.

If you use VPN services to circumvent the law, then you are exposing yourself to future litigation given that you are doing something which is prohibited by law. There is this hanging sword of Damocles looming around which can put you both criminally and civilly liable in the future.

Re: Why some countries gamble more than the others?
by
qwertyup23
on 23/07/2025, 06:07:18 UTC
<..snip..>

Is it fair to assume that a better economy and a solid framework will make people gamble more but be addicted less? This is the source, by the way.

I think it has something to do with the opportunities to different financial avenues rather than addiction as a whole.

In order to answer this question, you have to divide groups of people depending on the reason on why they gamble, which are as follows:

  • Gambling for entertainment and hobby; or
  • Gambling for profit and revenue.

Naturally on the first type of gambler who view it for entertainment, they tend to gamble respectively since they view it primarily for entertainment. They enjoy gambling not because they need the money but because they want to experience the high-stakes adrenaline fill-up on their veins.

With regard to the second type of gambler who sees this activity for profit, they tend to be the people who get addicted easily due to financial constrains. If they have more money on their pockets, then essentially, they would not even attempt to gamble in order to profit.

If pondo ng taong bayan ang gagamitin for a high-risk investment, then they should be investigated instantly.

When it comes sa welfare ng ating mga citizens, yan ang magiging prime objective ng ating government. If a government institution like GSIS can commit such mistake, then masisira ang pangalan ng lahat ng government institutions dito at onti onting mawawalan ng tiwala ang mga tao dito. Not only does this create a negative perception sa ating gobyerno (though meron naman talaga), may "chilling-effect" din ito when it comes to other government institutions.

Like what most have mentioned, dapat managot dito kung sino man ang nag-approve ng ganitong klaseng investment. Sure pwede nila i-argue na investment ito and bound din sila matalo pero may fiduciary relationship talaga ang panghahawak ng pondo ng taong bayan dito.

Re: Am I a bad father for letting my daughter gamble?

<..snip..>

Now, I’m a father, and my 17-year-old daughter is starting to gamble too playing slots and even doing some sports betting. I don’t know how to feel, part of me feels oddly proud of what she’s doing.

What does that make me?

I think this is a crucial time for you to have a discussion with your daughter regarding her gambling habbits.

Sure you have mentioned that by gambling at an early age, you became a risk-taker which ultimately affected your attitude now. But let me ask you, is it really worth the risk of letting your own daughter gamble for the sake of developing such attitude? They can most likely develop all kinds of learnings from other methods and not just in gambling.

Let me just remind you that in this stage, the cons overwhelmingly outweigh the pros. You should definitely explain to her the other side of gambling and its destructive effects. Worst, this can also lead to her downfall if she fails to control her addiction.

Re: Over £30k stuck in bc.game account, can't pass advanced KYC. What now?
by

on 20/07/2025, 15:16:42 UTC
I played in UK using VPN, deposits and withdrawals fine til now. Should have done my research, and now I can't upload UK documents to verify myself.

Is there any action I can take to get this money? Any forums where I could sell the account? Could I move countries and pass it that way?

Hello, have you tried reaching to their customer support service on their website? If they do not respond, then you may reach out to their ANN thread to this forum for further investigation and information on why your KYC would not advanced.

Since you also mentioned that you used a VPN, you may want to check out their ToS regarding this activity. Many gambling websites post their ToS and it specifically prohibits persons using VPN services to access their website, else, they may hold your funds and even confiscate it.

I do recommend that before taking any action on your end, contact their customer service and ask the status of your account.

They said BC Game is VPN friendly, so I assume that can't be your issue. Your issue might come from you making use of BC Game while you are from and based in the UK, which BC has closed their service with.

This is why it is always good for someone to always update himself with terms of services of every platform they are making use of. It could be that OP didn't know of this, because if he was aware that BC was closing their operation to UK customers, he wouldn't have find himself in this situation. But BC Game should have sent notifications to all their UK customers about their discontinuation of services in the UK, or they did but OP didn't get his or he decided to neglect it?

This is an interesting point- so the website allows the use of VPN services but the UK expressly prohibits online gambling from that website. If this were the case, I do recommend that you contact the CS and appeal whatever decision that they might make against you.

Re: Bitcoin as legal tender: A failed experiment?
by
qwertyup23
on 20/07/2025, 14:38:33 UTC
What about other countries adopting BTC as legal tender? Is there still a possibility? Or is it "game over"?
The possibilities will always exist so long as any country having it under consideration can learn from the mistakes of El Salvador and strategically make plans to ensure that those challenges that faced El Salvador in making their plan for Bitcoin as a legal tender to fail do not recur in your country.

Yes, any country adopting it will still have to face its own challenges, but learning from the challenges of El Salvador first brings the country's chances closer to success.

Just a quick question, what were the problems that El Salvador faced when it decided to consider BTC as part of their legal tender? I mean on paper, it definitely sounds interesting and innovating given the wonders of the blockchain technology when applied to payments as a whole.

Since you have mentioned that "learning from the challenges of El Salvador first brings the country's chances closer to success.", what were the the expectations and how did everything failed at this point?

I knew Bitcoin as legal tender wouldn’t work long term because most people don’t know how to use it. This is similar to people paying their debt in Pennies to piss off the impound yard or ticket agencies. But they have to take it since legal tender means a debt owed.

Making bitcoin legal tender I assume was more for publicity than actually solving any issues. And I wonder how many actual debts got paid by bitcoin, probably not many.

I guess this is one issue that El Salvador encountered given that the nature of BTC forces its citizens in their reliance to technology (e.g. mobile phones, etc.) in order to transact their payments.

Re: How is wealth distributed through Gambling
by
qwertyup23
on 20/07/2025, 13:33:47 UTC
Let's first talk about how the poor gives the money to the wealthy.... They allocate a huge part of their money (which isn't a lot in the first place) to gambling thinking that this would be the quick fix to their problems. This is how they give the money to the wealthy in this case the casino owners.

I call this as the "cycle of gambling" where the average gambler would fall in an endless cycle of gambling regardless of the result. For example, if a person losses in a game, the natural response from their end would to recover their losses. Similarly when a person wins, they would think that they could win again by gambling their winnings, ultimately losing in the process.

Quote
But the money can also go from the wealthy to the poor. If the tax from casinos gets collected by the government and is used effectively, it can help a lot of those in need. The money can be used to improve infrastructure, education, healthcare and etc.

The greatest outlier on what you mentioned is if the money can be used EFFECTIVELY by the government.

Unfortunately, there are lots of countries in both developing and third-world countries were the government does not efficiently use the taxes for the benefit of their citizens. In this kind of setup, the revenue would be most likely be pocketed by some individuals instead of being allocated for the benefit of the poor.

Re: Content creation
by
qwertyup23
on 20/07/2025, 07:36:12 UTC
Do you notice that so many people are into content creation these days? Everyone is always filming something and posting it in hopes of gaining views, likes and followers. Once they have enough audience, they can start earning from their page and this is what is their biggest motivator. There are people who have day jobs that don't pay enough so they try their luck in content creation.

I have tried tapping into this space before and let me tell you from my personal experience- it is superbly hard to stay relevant and to create content.

Sure we see content creators each day but the most difficult part here is finding your niche and content. Sometimes you would be able to create one good video that will gain you a hundred of views. It may sound easy but the hardest part here is staying consistent throughout your whole career. Also, you must differentiate your content with different content creators as well because production value would be the most crucial part here in retaining your followers.

Lastly I would also like to highlight that being a content creator is a daunting task that requires extreme patience and tolerance. There will also be times where you would be forced to stream videos about your content because branching out to a different content would lose your viewers in the process.

Quote
If you are struggling financially, have you ever considered content creation? Does content creation offer anything to the economy?

If I were struggling financially, my first choice would be to look for a paying job. Nowhere would I consider choosing creating content due to the complexity of the tasks involved. I MIGHT do it as a hobby but making it my full-time job would most likely backfire against me.
