This coin has been around for so long, and clearly - it gives a way to use old equipment, equipment that people turn into key chains or paper holders.

Its' price is not relevant, BEs/Antminers/BFLs take so little that even if it will balance at 100 sat it will still make (a really small) profit over electricity cost.
I think the dev has dove a great job keeping the coin going for as long as he did.

It doesn't matter if he's gone or not, now it's up to us.

I really like this coin, and i will not sell it for 200 sat and i will buy all you dumping for less for as long as i can Smiley

I agree that we need to get into mintpal, but i never had any issues with atomic-trade, and if you don't trust them, just convert and withdraw and don't keep coins there for long.

Hey faircoin dev team.

I looked over the last 30 blocks generated, none of them were generated by PoS
Are you sure PoS is working?
The whole point of this coin is PoS, but the network is sustained now only by a tiny miner PoW force.

Has anyone managed to generate a Stake? i have 8000 coins, 2 days the wallet has been open with no stake.

The idea behind Faircoin is the desire to establish a universal coin community (like Auroracoin in Iceland) for this purpose we have developed a distribution system that people can not take advantage of the Distribution process adversely.
the Distribution process is a transparent process, fair and fast.
For more information:
http://fair-coin.info/ # about

What's keeping me or anyone (or you) from creating 20,000 addresses on my wallet and adding all of them to get 50% of the currency?
And even if you have a way of knowing it came from the same wallet - what's keeping me from just opening 20,000 wallets (or as many as i can do from the second the wallet is released? - because that's what everyone will try and do)
And how is this distribution fair? for all we know you will create 30,000 wallets before releasing the wallet and add them little by little to the site and get most of the currency....

Use -H 2 to reduce CPU load. Should not affect hashing speed, but in some cases it does.

5% CPU now Cheesy that's great thanks Smiley

Running 2 Gainward 750ti on 580kh (regular scrypt) Smiley,

For some reason cudaminer takes 70-100% CPU,
Does anyone else experience that?
The cards' performance goes down every now and again because CPU is on 100% and cuda probably needs more for some reason...

with AMD cards cg/bfg take 5-10%...

OS and command line would be helpful to understand this...

Win7 64bit + latest cudaminer (from 18-2) - running the 64bit version
cudaminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://stratum.wemineftc.com:4444 -u user -p 123 -i 0 -l T5x24 -C 1 -H 1

Thanks Smiley

I'm running 3 BE's and AntMiner U1 - total ~3GH,
I have the cheapest i5 cpu - it's running on 80-100%,

Is this normal for such low hashing power?
Not sure, but for comparison's sake I have an i5 at 4ghz and am hashing with a BFL Jally at 6.4gh/s.  My cpu usage is between 15% and 40%.
On another machine I have 3BE's and a Phenom x4 925 running at 3.2ghz and my cpu usage there is about 15% to 30%.

Hope that helps.

I had 3 bfgminers running,
1 - with 3 BEs
2 - 2nd gen with proxy running with http-port
3 - BTC bfgminer connected to the 2nd one running 1 Antminer U1

each one of them is taking 20-30% cpu...

So i combined 1 + 2, and 3 is connected to them with proxy, seems like 60% now Smiley
still a lot but better

Yes run both.

mining-proxy: ./mining_proxy.py -o med.mine.nu -p 3333 -gp 8082 -sp 3334 -v

mcproxy: java -jar mcproxy3.jar -p 8082 -s localhost -a

Run BFGMiner and connect to localhost:8080 and then use your pool worker as login. Change med.mine.nu to your pool.

thanks Smiley,

i will try that

The bfgminer thinks the difficulty is () - and working on block "null", and every second shows Accepted 4/1, 8/1, ... etc
So my guess is something is wrong
I am using the mining_proxy.exe, not a .py

add -nm -rt  to mining_proxy.exe
ex.:
mining_proxy.exe  -o pooladdress -p 3333 -oh 127.0.0.1 -gp 3388 -sh 127.0.0.1 -sp 3377 -nm -rt

still the same issue...
here's my config (running in 3 different .bats)

mining_proxy.exe  -o ibipot.com -p 3333 -oh 127.0.0.1 -gp 3388 -sh 127.0.0.1 -sp 3377 -nm -rt
java -jar mcproxy3.jar -p 3388 -s localhost -a
bfgminer -o localhost:8080 -u user -p pass -S \\.\COM3 --set-device antminer:clock=x0781

I tried (not very correct solutions, but):
latest MED bfgminer: bfgminer --http-port 1234 -o ibipot.com:3333 -u user.worker -p 1
latest BTC bfgminer: bfgminer -o localhost:1234 -u user.worker -p 1 -S antminer:all

result:
BTC miner window:

So, at first it seems bit "slow" but MED hash is not actually same as bitcoin hash, but in the end it shows up to be even the same..

maybe this helps for now, before I find a better and more correct solution...

Seems to work Smiley 2GH, taking 60% cpu divided between the 2 bfgminers lol,
Something feels wrong though - in the BTC bfgminer (3.10) it says "New block detected on network" around 10 times a second...
Plus - another issue i havent told you about yet (40+% HWs) is gone too, that's great Smiley too bad with the 70% cpu

I just got a new AntMiner U1 today Smiley

I am very confused to how to use it...
I tried using the latest version of bfgminer , but it only get to 1GH,
So i read some people have been using the old bfgminer with proxy - but i can't figure out how to make that work with the pool...

Do i run both mcproxy and mining-proxy + old bfgminer?

Really confused Smiley..

anyone..help?

I have 3 BEs, but they have good hash rates with the latest bfgminer

oh, and i tried using the modified cgminer, but it doesn't recognize my antminer (says there are no WinUsb drivers)

hmm...

I like the way this site handles it better than the other rental sites do, there just needs to be more rigs to mine, I would purchase more if there were some.

We need more machines and more renters!
Most critical bugs have been fixed already, and several bids and contracts have run fully with the right payment according to our WatchDog service.

So all we need now is more of you using our service.
This service could benefit everyone.

You need to make it super easy for rig owners to use your service. But, you are not there yet...

IMO opening ports and adding a line to your cgminer config is not that hard,
Did you run into any problems configuring your machines on the site?

I understand that changing firewall config is relatively simple and modifying cgminer as well. But, how that works for you so far? How many active rig owners you have?

BTW, I did sign up at your site a week ago, however didn't even bother to spend time changing my network configuration. Instead, I pointed my rigs to one of your competitors where no changes are required.

Just trying to help you here... before someone tells you bluntly that it's time to wrap it up and try something else...

We are adding other major improvements like a bidding system, health monitoring and pay for actual work done system.

I think bringing supply and demand to the renting market is the crucial feature we present.

Plus, we try and give the best in site experience: so you can just forget about it, and come every other week and take your rental money out. (Automatic money withdraw feature is coming out soon, so you won't even have to do that)
Come back only when your machine is malfunctioning (We are getting the email notification service ready).
The same with renters, just say how much MH you need and the price you are willing to pay for it with your pools, and the rest is up to us to figure out.
No support tickets for non paying renters, no issues with unresponsive or non accurate declared hashing power. We pay for actual work done.

I am sorry the configuration part was what kept you away from trying our service out.
You are still welcome to try it out.
