Re: Blockchain vs. BlockDAG?
by

on 27/09/2024, 08:19:54 UTC
Hello! Yes, I do pay close attention to the underlying technology of a project, as it plays a critical role in performance, scalability, and security. Kaspa or Waterfall Network, for example, uses a blockDAG architecture, which is an evolution of traditional blockchain designs. This allows for faster transaction throughput and better scalability by enabling multiple blocks to be processed concurrently rather than sequentially.

When developers use also a Layer 1 protocol, which means it's built from the ground up with its own native consensus mechanism, giving us full control over optimizations for speed and efficiency. The combination of being Layer 1 with a blockDAG structure positions us well for future growth and high-demand use cases. BlockDAG architecture is gaining traction in the industry for these reasons, and we’re excited to be at the forefront of that innovation!

Staking is one of the less risky methods of making extra money in crypto. Ideally, you gotta choose stablecoins but altcoins staking is more common. Pay attention to APR you get. For example, Ethereum and Polygon gives around 3% APR : https://www.stakingrewards.com/asset/ethereum-2-0 or Waterfall Network who gives around 122% APR because they have around 8k validators and want to attract more: https://waterfall.network/use-waterfall/stake-water

Re: How Simplified Node Deployment is Shaping Blockchain's Future
by

How do you see this trend influencing the overall security and scalability of blockchain networks? Have you had any experiences with node deployment or staking? Share your thoughts and insights! Smiley
I'm not aware of BTC staking but I tried ETH and Polygon staking, not very impressed to be honest since the APR is only 3%
Now I consider Waterfall Network for node running. There are 3 options of node deployment: on your own, via infrastructure and via cloud provider or to rent a server. Have anybody tried running a node with Waterfall Network? Can you share your experience please?

Re: Is Layer 2 the Future of Decentralized Perpetual Trading?

I believe that Layer 1 projects are the future. For example, Waterfall Network is a highly scalable and decentralized BlockDAG EVM-compatible Layer 1 protocol that solves the “blockchain trilemma” of security, scalability and decentralization while offering the first truly decentralized governance platform.

Not sure about trading percentage, but I earn 0.33% per day with staking on Waterfall Netwokr
Probably that would be interesting for you: https://waterfall.network/individuals#statistics_block

I have been curious about mining bitcoin and how it actually work. if i would to try to start mining, what are the required equipments that i need to have and how much are they worth? i live in the philippines and the price of electricity average. not that expensive and also not that cheap. but if you live in the US and have average salary, you could live really comfotably in the philippines.
I don't think bitcoin mining will be profitable if it's done by 1 person since BTC mining aimed into big organizations to be profitable nowadays. However, I recommend you to pay attention to staking. For example, consider Waterfall Network which is layer 1 protocol and offers 125% APR. But the more validators, the less APR

The achievement of consensus in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other blockchains is inextricably linked to the execution of transactions and other logic supported by the respective network, significantly limiting the number of requests that can be processed in a single round of network operation.

Waterfall employs a new model based on separating the execution of transactions and smart contracts from the consensus mechanism.
All transactions and smart contract calls are published in a blockDAG, while the decision regarding the order of execution of all requests is made in the Coordinating network. Additionally, this approach is structurally conducive to introducing sharding, which we are currently working on.

I'd recommend you try staking. I tried multiple coins like Ethereum and Polygon but Ethereum gives only 3% APR which is not great for me. I currently stick to a relatively new project called Waterfall Network, which gives about 120% APR. They have a strong background of 3 years in development.

Highly recommend you to pay attention to Waterfall Network project, it's relatively new but has strong background - 3 years of testing

If you want immediate income I'd recommend you pay attention to staking. Consider new projects like Waterfall Network, currently, they give 115% APR, one month ago it was about 150%. In my opinion that is one of the best ways to get passive incomes in crypto

Re: High APRs staking or trading?
by
salve0908
on 12/09/2024, 07:31:05 UTC
For people like me staking is the solution because I know that trading is harder than it looks. Not that I do not trade, I trade a little and try to do fine and I hope that I will do fine in the end but I think it's clear that we are not going to see that happen easily at all.

We should consider how we could probably see this changing as well, we should consider this as something that takes a bit of time but we can make it work somehow. The sad thing is that people think trading guarantees a profit but it's not, it's going to be something that takes a  while and I love it because of that.

I believe that trading is something veterans are good at but newbies are making a loss because they can't wait to make a profit and it causes them to rush and make a loss. If we do this well, then we are going to see this changing, if we do that then we are going to see a good growth as well. We shouldn't be worried about it and just keep doing what we do and eventually we will be trading well. Meanwhile, staking is better until you get better.
What coins do you prefer to stake?

Do you have any plans for silent mining at home? I only learned about Jasmine Miner
I quit mining when ETH switched to PoS, it stopped being profitable. Now I do staking where I don’t need any additional equipment and it’s not time consuming at all (you don’t need to worry about video cards, bills etc)
It’s more risky but I choose new projects which offer 150 APR%, for example now I stake with them https://waterfall.network/individuals#statistics_block

Staking takes long time for you to get the reward
I did staking via infrastructure provider on Waterfall Network and I got my rewards every 2 days, so I cannot complain about not getting the rewards on time

Waterfall employs a customized PoS consensus protocol with an affordable fixed stake, making it accessible to a broad audience. Additionally, it features a system of infrastructure providers, enabling users without specialized technical expertise to easily set up and manage validators for participating in platform operations. As of September 4th, the network boasts 7,398 validators. Additionally, the team is exploring the possibility of running light versions of validators on mobile devices.

Re: Bitcoin Mining Revenue Hits New Low in August 2024
by

August 2024 proved to be one of the toughest months for Bitcoin miners in recent history. According to QGame, the sector saw a sharp decline in earnings, with a $99.75 million reduction in revenue and a $4.14 million drop in on-chain fees. These numbers mark the lowest point for Bitcoin mining earnings since September 2023. This downturn highlights the persistent challenges faced by miners and raises important questions about the future of crypto mining as market conditions continue to fluctuate.

High APR? Where have you seen it? Ethereum gives about 3% APR
For example, this project, they offer 125% APR: https://waterfall.network/individuals#statistics_block

I’ve really many equipment since I was mining ETH back in 2021 but when it changed from PoW to PoS I’m not sure about its profitability..I mean only 3% APR and much more money to invest now.
And i'm not aware of any coin which offer 150% APR by perform staking.

I believe I saw new projects who gives that like ETH in the beginning

@fiulpro, you write very fast, only 4 minutes to answer a question? I guess it's easy when you already have a prepared answer to the question you're asking yourself, right? That's stupid considering your trust feedback and accusations of alts...

Hello everyone! Since mining isn’t that popular anymore I’m curious is BTC mining still profitable?
I’ve really many equipment since I was mining ETH back in 2021 but when it changed from PoW to PoS I’m not sure about its profitability..I mean only 3% APR and much more money to invest now. So, do you recommend to stick to BTC mining or switch to staking? I saw crazy APRs like 150% but not sure about it
