Free pool mining week is up at https://scsy.coreprovision.com!

Free mining until at least Feb 3rd.

That means...
No mining fee!
No transaction fees!

Wondering about uptime?  You can check it here: https://scsy.coreprovision.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=uptime

Need assistance mining?  Just shoot me a message and I'll give you a hand.

Want to take advantage of free mining but concerned about the "what if"?  I'll help you configure your miner to switch back to your other pool(s) automatically should you have problems mining at coreprovision.com.

I've sent the information by email for the swap but never received the coins on the new wallet...

If you have messaged us by the time of this post, your swap will be accommodated and taken care of. We are actively working on how we can verify the amounts of the requests given the hard fork and lack of nodes on the previous network. Our team is small at this time, so please bare with us Smiley

We have lots of stuff coming in the next 60 days, and look forward to a prosperous future.

Thanks everyone

Coming soon...

Buy $SCSY off exchange with a CC directly from the team.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dadQlKItu2I

We as a team have decided to not sell our scsy we hold on exchange to affect prices we will sell SCSY to anyone with a credit card at a 5% discount from the exchange price.

More announcements coming in the next few days Smiley

I'm not here to tell you what to do, but think this through.

This might look good on the surface but you're risking your coin and your reputation.  Here's why;

To sell off-market like this is essentially a dump, you're just hiding it from everybody else.

5% under market might sound like a good deal, and it might sound like you're being generous, but consider that depending on how many coins you hold you might not be able to get more than 10% of them sold in the real market at current prices before driving the price under that 5% margin.  Now you're selling the rest of the 90% of the coins at an unnaturally inflated price.

Also by trying to sell under current market price, it encourages buyers who think they'll be able to get a quick flip for 5% profit.  This is essentially just a deferred dump through a middle-man, your buyer dumping to the market, instead of you dumping to the market directly.  This is extra risky to your reputation because once that happens and people catch on, they're going to look back here and see that basically you did a dump but deferred all the risk of deflating the value to someone else by hiding your upset of the supply and demand through private transactions.

My warning: These practices aren't in favor of your coin or its health.  If you want your coin to be successful people will need to trust that it will maintain value and if the creators aren't interested in trying to hold on to them now, why should anybody else be?

It is what it is, take it or leave it.

My wallet wont sync. Are there some nodes?
Mine didnt sync one time on opening ...so I closed it and reopen and then it synced....if that helps.
EDIT: It just happen again.  Smiley

I did sync from the beginning. It is OK now

Syncing takes a while but we have nodes hard coded into the wallet so it should never be a problem...

I've been trying to sync for the last couple of days. I will get active connections but the number of blocks remaining only gets larger. Have opened and closed the wallet many times and nothing changes. Not sure what to do.

delete everything except for wallet.dat in c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\securitycoin

Then start the wallet, wait a moment, close it, create a new securitycoin.conf with the settings in the OP, and start it again.

Did anyone else notice how fast the transactions are on this coin?  I sent from Bittrex to my wallet and it seemed like seconds until the coins got there unconfirmed and then another few seconds to confirm in my wallet.  I was amazed.

Target block time is about 1 minute.  So you need that long for you transaction to be "solved", then it takes a little bit of time to be propagated through the network for confirmations which can vary but won't take terribly long.

If you're mining to a pool it looks like they're all requiring 120 confirmations to release your coins.  Then when you cash out it depends on how their cronjob for payouts is configured.  I have scsy.coreprovision.com configured to check payouts every 2 minutes.

So add all that up and you get an idea of how long it takes to get paid Smiley

Thanks Scorpio.

@tbearhere - FYI the mpos on coreprovision.com is "beta" so you may see occasional blips and changes in the webpage but the stratum that your miner works with is solid so mining is unaffected.   Because the the webpage is beta right now I've got the pool configured as free.  No fees and I'm actually covering the transaction fee too so you get all of your share of mined coins and 100% of your balance when you cash out.

I got messaged about my pool and the browser warning so just thought I would toss out a general response.

While https://scsy.coreprovision.com does use SSL (https) to protect your traffic like every other, it's currently configuired with a self-signed cert.  Basically this means that your browser is going to complain when you first access the site.

If you're wondering why I use a self-signed cert instead of one from a Certificate Authority (CA), well those don't come free, and if you take a look at the prices and you'll probably understand why I'm not shelling out for one for a page that is still in a beta. Smiley    https://www.digicert.com/ssl-certificate-comparison.htm

And yes the pool is free right now.  No percentage fees, no transaction fees to get your coins out either.  You can verify this on the Other -> Terms and Conditions tab.  Also to change things up a little this is a PPLNS pool as opposed to PROP like the others.   Here is a decent overview of the different systems.  https://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?/topic/4145-guide-pps-rbpps-prop-pplns-whats-the-difference/

Quick update on this because the irony of a securitycoin pool throwing browser warnings was driving me nuts.

I found an affordable CA and installed the cert and it looks to be working and legit!   Please let me know if you still see SSL weirdness on https://scsy.coreprovision.com.  You may need to close and re-open your browser (I did).

I see SSL seijirou.

Thank you!!

Not sure if this matters, but all 3 pools still have the mjollner as the algo Huh?   AND SAY "HEFTY" and NOT "HEFTY-1" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As oc said, they're basically saying the same thing.

If you're interested, the stratum server calls the algo "heavy".  For cGminer you use "hefty".  cudaminer or cCminer you use "mjollnir".

Importantly for anybody cpu mining, *minerd also uses mjollnir*!!  The provided stratum install has this incorrect as hefty1 and last I checked some of the other pools don't have that fixed yet but I fixed it on scsy.coreprovision.com

@scorpio18: I am there as the 2nd miner on the grassy knoll.....lolz

Yeah i see you but is hard to find a block with just 12 mhs thats why i keep telling miners to spread the hash and to have a healthy network  Wink

I've been loadbalancing across all 4 pools but for now I'm going to exclude suprnova until things balance out better.

Guys, also keep in mind that spreading your hashes out also spreads out your risk!  That *is* someone else's wallet that you're mining to.

Hey you just flipped a block!  Smiley

This made me laugh pretty hard..... How many decimals are we taking this to???

Rofl that looks like an MPOS thing, I'm gonna check it out...

So that's actually in the database as field type decimal(50,30) which means the number can have 50 total positions with 30 to the right of the decimal.  Why they decided to go out 30 when bitcoin only went out 8 I don't know.. probably just thinking "future proof" in case anybody wanted to deal in values *a lot less* than 1 satoshi in the future.

I could probably trim it in the PHP on my site but I don't know if I care that much lol

Who is I.G.S-security?  Maybe I'm not understanding the relevance. Smiley

He was the old dev when it was called "Security Sys Coin"

Seemed ok, but straight up left the project.
"I'm on a holiday" he said...... forevvvvvvver!!! lolz

Look for old thread....or just look at his old posts

Oooh gotcha.
