There are times where coinbase blog will announce that coinbase is continuing to explore support for digital assets , and those are often covered by a crypto media like The daily hodl as an example, I'll put some linked examples below :

Thank you both for your tips.
Honestly I'd checked a few exchanges previously hoping for one that you can use in the US, and it appears CoinEx does have NBS/USDT as a trading pair now and is available in all countries at this time.

Hello,
I've got some New Bitshares (NBS) on a Binance account that I can no longer trade with since I'm a United States customer who can no longer use Binance. I can withdraw, but haven't found a US exchange or wallet ...

Any tips for US customer on how to trade / swap / exchange or store etc. ?

*only for people that paid $2.6k for B3
anyone receive the refund from bitmain?

Anyone Huh

I got an email response when I asked for an update last week :
"Good day!
the refund application has already been delivered, and it is processing now. please wait, for it has to go through a series of procedures and be dealt with by different departments.

feel free to get back to me if u have additional queries, thanks!

So it sounds like the partial refund that came out in emails is still in process, here's the email response I got from Bitmain CS :

"Good day!

I'll take it with a grain of salt , but if first batch B3 buyers are to get a partial refund they initially said a few months, and then 30-60 days , it's been about 30 days so I'll keep an eye out for updates...

Just an update, a REFUND for International customers is going to happen. Bitmain replied my ticket and have confirmed it. The amount is USD578 in BCH.

Below is their reply:

Quote
Dear xxx,

Thank you very much for your support towards Bitmain and our products.

This email is to inform you that we will provide compensation for the orders of our B3 miners that were purchased earlier at a higher price than the present batch.

Relevant orders:

Those who have purchased and fully paid for our B3 miner at the price of USD 2453 on our website (https://shop.bitmain.com/)

Compensation method:

Those who have purchased and fully paid for the B3 miner at the price of USD 2453 will be refunded the equivalent amount of USD578 in BCH (Bitcoin cash),

The exchange rate will be the real time exchange rate when the refund is credited into your account in around 1-2 months after the refund request is received by us.

Application Procedure:

Please reply this ticket with subject”B3 order XXXXXX refund”, and the information below:

1. B3 order ID: XXXXXXX
2. BCH wallet address (Please confirm that the provided BCH address is correct and valid, otherwise Bitmain will not be responsible for the crediting of the refund to the wrong wallet address provided.)

We will check and confirm the information that you have provided and the refund will be credited into the stated BCH account in around 1-2 months upon receipt of the refund request.

Please do feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. Thank you and have a nice day.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Best regards

Anyone followed up with Bitmain CS about the status of these refunds?  I think I'll shoot a followup today unless someone else has had communication with them...

My apologies if I came on a bit strong in my earlier post.  Perhaps my bad day at work contributed some.  I'll make an effort to be nicer and stay on subject in the future.  I did hop on here to say that Bitmain did send me an email as well offering me the refund.  I didn't ask for it.  I didn't open a ticket with them.  I just woke up one morning (May 7) and found the email from them in my inbox......
Kresp

Appreciate you coming back in here with that response, much respect and water under the bridge ... my response may have equally been a little harsh, so apologies if I got defensive of the people here in the thread... best of luck to us all in getting a little something back , and maybe a good lesson to us all about the risks involved in buying 1st batches from Bitmain...

Bitmain takes a lot of shit ,but credit to them for at least trying to do something about this last B3 batch 2 controversy (and credit to them for putting out products that generally run/mine as advertised)

I see a lot of concerns about the token mining on Antpool , hope they work it out soon for you guys!

For what it's worth I'm mining on UUPOOL (which is mining the mainnet coin not the token) ...

I'm in the US , hash rate is a little up and down , but I've received 3 payments (once each day) to my desktop Bytom wallet from UUPool , about 55-60 per day ... just collecting now, no need for me to sell yet (though I'm sure an exchange that i use will be ready for the coin soon, if not I have a bibox account now but that's just for the token , not the mainnet coin yet I don't think).

What a depressingly scumbag move by the zcash people. guess its time to find another coin that actually promotes freedom of choice.

Someone else said it already, but this statement from the zcash foundation is more likely credible than that article above :
https://z.cash.foundation/blog/statement-on-asics/

Though it's interesting that the Zcash foundation seems to be at odds with Zooko .... here's the quote

"...Another complicating factor is that the Zcash Company’s chief, Zooko, has signalled ambivalence about ASIC resistance.

The Foundation is in the process of adopting community feedback as part of our own governance process, and in fact has already planned to represent the community’s interest in this debate via a proposed ballot for our election process. "

ZEC will be killed by shitmain.
GPUminers,welcome to XZC,

why fight against ASIC,i have GPU ,i can choose which coin to mine ,for current profit ,or for future.
if i buy a ASIC machine, when shitmain  manufacture more machines,or the coin dump,i have nothing todo, just look at the devaluation of the machine, and cannot return of investment.

Funnily enough, Equihash is still extremely profitable right now   Grin

And will remain profitable on GPUs 'till at least somewhere in July and more likely August, given the current total network hashrate vs. how much this miner will introduce at normal Bitmain batch sizes.

Remember, not shipping 'till late JUNE - but probably will kill GPU mining over time, unlike the E3 for Equihash that BARELY matches what a current well-tuned GPU rig can manage.

Not sure what you mean by barely matching, a 7 GPU Nvidia Rig using 3x the power hashes at best about 3k/sols a second, this thing says to be 300W @ 10k/sols

He said E3 , the antminer that mines EtHash ... You're talking about the Z9 that mines Equihash ... I think him saying the E3 mining equihash through you off

Holy Crap!  I sent in a refund request from reading about it on here and got the canned response, ok fine.  But, I just noticed that my order has been retroactively changed to show an $1875 purchase price down from $2453.  Looks like some refunds are on the way.  Pretty cool!

Just checked and mine is like this too

......

On the bright side though, they changed my order price to $1875 without me even asking though, so I assume I'm getting a refund. Since they changed the price of the order on their own, I'll hold off submitting a ticket for it for a few days to see if they send instructions on their own.

Edit:  Also, I paid in LTC, and I realize you did as well.  I wonder if this is their passive aggressive way of dicking people over who didn't pay in BCH...

My price I paid was changed as well, but I still followed the instructions to submit for a request (BTW this seems fishy that they just manually adjusted what they said I paid for it)...

Anyway, I submitted a ticket , got the response that a refund would be issued if I replied with (1) my order number and (2) Bitcoin cash address (which is not how I paid FYI, I paid USD wire) , so make sure you submit the refund request and don't just assume the refund will show up

My B3 is shipping today, should have in US Monday or Tuesday ...

Have a $400 bitmain coupon for anyone considering a z9 purchase.    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3300918.0

I am debating whether to spring for one myself.  It would make it a lot easier if bitmain let you know how many they will be producing for batch 1.

No coupons for Z9. PM me price for the coupon though, I might want to use it for something else.

Not true, you can use a coupon for Z9 , per Bitmain themselves right on the Z9 product detail page : " Coupons below the 50% value of the miners may be used for this batch. "

Do you think that ZCash will change their algo. Do they have the guts ? Really it definitely looks like all of algos will have an asic this year. I think next one will be NEOSCRYPT. We need new algos. The cycle is repeating.

This will sell out quick , A3 first batch ROI'd quickly , but 1st batch B3 and E3 and X3 saw quick drops in price for 2nd batches coming immediately after 1st batches ... Obviously X3 saw Monero fork / change algo...

Not sure that Zcash would want to fork : http://www.crypto-news.in/news/alt-coins/zcash-founder-zooko-not-interested-asic-resistance/

* EDIT *Or this, more recent update : https://forum.z.cash/t/let-s-talk-about-asic-mining/27353/638?u=zooko

May have to keep an eye on this, would love a Z9 asap but my gut says wait til batch 2

It seems Bitmain has made it a habit to perfectly price discriminate amongst their customers. Something economists dream about at night. It is unfair that the second batch has released so soon with such a major reduction of price; destroying the price premium paid by first batch buyers. I do think it'll ultimately be worth it still to be in batch 1 but the risk is high and reward is at most break even.

I sent them a quick email and they replied the following:

Quote
"Dear xxxxxxxx,

With regards to the decrease in the price of our B3 miner, we are presently working on a compensation package for the affected customers. There will be an email sent out to you in the next few days with the details and relevant terms and conditions.

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Valerie‍
Bitmain"

It seems that they understand their position and are working on a resolution. If more people email them, they will hopefully understand that there are many people dissatisfied. If only a few complaints get through, they may just brush it off or give out a $50-100 coupon that most people won't end up using.

I'm in the US, and I submitted a complaint ticket and I got this exact same email reply word for word, hoping they provide a refund or a decent coupon (like $600), we'll see...

bitmain send me DHL number 3hrs ago,but it is only PSU  Grin Grin Grin

Same here, got this email with Shipping info, so I got excited until I saw only the PSU is shipping right now (also DHL, paid confirmation from USD wire on April 26), still waiting on confirmation that my 1st B3 is shipping ...

We'll see how quickly they come up with a solution, i'm cool with a refund like Chinese customers are getting, that's ideal, or a ~ $600 coupon (but not multiple $100,$200 coupons, that won't cut it)

Hello people!  Life is not fair.  Whoever told you it would be and that you would be compensated if something unfair happened to you were wrong!  Obviously if Bitmain wants to offer me a coupon I'll graciously accept it and use it if I have another miner I want to buy from them.  But when I purchased the B3 at roughly $2500.  I knew what I was buying and I knew that my advantage on the network would only last for a short time.  Good grief people.  Grow up!  We're not in Kindergarten anymore...

Well, you don't get if you don't ask and this seems to be the case for customers in China . If you are happy accepting your own fate and do nothing about it then so be it. Things will never change unless something is spoken.
[/quote]

Thanks for the lecture DigitalMan, but I have to agree with dsldsl, we have posted in here that we all expect to receive the same treatment as the Chinese customers who are already being offered the refund, that is the point of this thread, you can get off your high horse now if you don't understand the point of this thread
