Unable to send. Issue with addresses with many small deposits. Logs included
by

on 04/10/2014, 09:49:32 UTC
Running on OSX (10.9.5) with Armory 0.92.3.

I hit Send Bitcoins, enter the address and amount, and hit continue, but nothing happens.  The log shows the following each time I press continue:

Code:
2014-10-04 19:19 (ERROR) -- Traceback (most recent call last):

UnpackerError

Also when this happens it's often not possible to close the dialog window.

EDIT:  Looks to be related to lots of "dust" or something along those lines.  I was able to send smaller amounts (with the standard fee), but I'm left with 4.x BTC in there that must have lots of little txn's included as it wants a larger fee.  Anytime I try and send a transaction with these larger fees I get the above error.  One address, for example, has had 69 transactions sent to it, all very small.

Last rewards:

2014-09-14 11:37:12 UTC   0.00003007
2014-09-07 10:26:20 UTC   0.0000012
2014-09-07 09:05:07 UTC   0.00004027
2014-08-31 10:26:47 UTC   0.00005449

It'd be bad if those amounts were coming through every day, but once a week (or longer) is not going to work.   My last payout was 10 months ago, and this is a 100BTC deposit.

Time to think of some more ideas to actually make this viable again Wink

Still waiting for delivery in Australia (posted on the 5th) Smiley   Anyone else over here received theirs yet?
My first edition classic order still doesn't track via Auspost.
I can see it was logged on the Czech system on 28th July
Still waiting for mine, just curious if yours has turned up yet?
No.  I received my bitmain orders within 2-3 days from China but 3.5 weeks from .Cz and still "No tracking events found" on auspost.
Ok, at least it's not just me Cheesy

Just arrived today! Tracking number was not on auspost website as of last night.

Sweet, hopefully mine's close then Smiley

Good stuff.  My idea was clearly a bad one, but I'm glad it's stimulated a little life and (for the most part, useful) conversation in here to try and kick the old horse and get her moving again Wink

Ok, thanks for your opinion Sqeak, interesting perspective.

Hopefully we get some more opinions in here (and ones that aren't so hell bent on being holier than thou preachy dicks).

Agree with me on this or not, I don't care but I would like some more ideas from others on how we can get things moving in the right direction again.

Hopefully not for long Smiley
Keep dreaming... that is never going to happen...

Look,  it's no surprise that those in profit don't want to see this happen, of course they don't, I get that.   That said, it's clear that the current system isn't working at all, and we need to start getting creative.   The majority of people here are never ever going to even get close to breaking even, let alone a profit.  It just seems the nice thing to do for those who are way ahead to step back a bit, but that's obviously naive of me.

Who did get back his inital investment with this?

There are actually 3755 deposits "completed" (it means they received the deposited amount + bonus), on ~11000 total deposits.

Pyra, how about pausing any accounts that are currently in profit (anything over their initial investment) so the rest of us have a chance.

What? This makes no sense... people in profit need to be punished for the laws of bitcoin...

It makes perfect sense if you're not a greedy, self serving shit.

Because I agreed to a TOS and now that I happened to make money due to the fact I understand bitcoin and how mining actually works, I should be punished and that is self serving? Care to explain?

I guess you are the same person that would ask an exchange to give back your bitcoins after a bad trade, guess what this is life, welcome to it. I am a whale and you are guppy and I just shallowed you whole. Deal with it!

I hate 12yrs that don't understand anything about how the world works, your mommy can't save you.

Your opinion is worthless (along with your spelling and grammar).

It would be worse, because those accounts are still depositing/investing, helping everyone.

How so?  Wouldn't it free up hashpower for everyone else?

Do you mean they've deposited even more since hitting profit?  If that's the case, I'd imagine it's only a small portion who actually redeposit, certainly nowhere near everyone.

I'm getting little bursts of payouts!  Yea!  Nice to see some movement again.

I'm getting around 0.00009 "rewards" every 6-10 days.  That 100BTC will be paid off in no time.

I haven't had a payout (over 5 accounts) since January.

What I think should absolutely be happening is that any account that has had payouts exceeding the amount the initially deposited should be paused.  Hash power should be directed at those of us who have yet to see, and are far from, a return.

Of course that select group of people will disagree, but that's too bad as far as I'm concerned.  You're in profit while most of us aren't remotely close.

Factor in pyra saying that there isn't a lot of large deposits and I don't think we will be waiting that long.

Well I have a 100btc deposit from early 2013, that's 5% complete and getting 3.4 GH/s.

Don't hold your breath.

Thats exactly what I am talking about.
The deposits much larger and older than ours were on average 70% complete. This stat alone bodes well for how long it will take for us to see that hashing power hit our deposits.

I'd consider mine a large deposit Smiley  Are we talking deposits in the thousands?  I'm not sure that's been established.
