I bought some coins immediately after my account was verified. No problems (except the slow verification).

But now they ask to apply for a corporate account like I never verified my account as corporate account...

Maybe something in the process of upgrading their systems caused the problem, I don't know...

I have opened corporate account with Bitstamp back in 2013 and bought some coins without problems (with wire from my company).

I have been wise enough to ask them some questions before to send my next wire.

They pretend that I never opened corporate account and I need to open corporate account if I want to fund my Bitstamp account (already verified corporate account) with wire transfer from my company!

And they ask for shitload of docs to provide.

They also may not open account for your company if they are not satisfied with your business practice (for example, if you use their service to pay freelancers with Bitcoin).

I posted their guide for opening corporate account and similar story from another user in my blog:

Bitstamp pretends I never verified my corporate account and my account is personal

Their bank require to verify the identity of their customers (KYC).

If you are using their services but without loading/withdrawing funds with wire transfer (or other non-secure method susceptible to chargeback fraud), it does not make sense BTC-E to require scans of your identity documents.

How did you funded your account? Crypto or fiat? Or non-cryto e-currency?

remember, that they have to be sure that YOU are YOU and not someone else (same as the banks).

The information I provide to them (scanned documents, answers to their stupid KYC questions) are not evidence that really I am contacting them.

Anyone can make fake passport scan with my details, anyone can answer the stupid questions, anyone can make fake scans of my company's documents.

These "AML/KYC" regulations actually make easy for criminals to commit identity theft - every low level "customer support" employee on some shitty Forex broker, gambling site or web hosting company (even some web hosting companies require scan of the identity documents!) can just use the documents of unsuspecting "customer" to open a bank account, register company, etc.

Also the dark markets are full of scans of documents, maybe even my scans are there.

I used Bitstamp when it was young. Verification was pain in the ass, but no other problems.

But later I read some bad reviews and don't like how Bitstamp is acting worse than a bank.

Search on the Internet for:
  • Bitstamp new KYC. This is what it actually ment when they became "first nationally licensed BTC exchange"
  • Bitstamp will not process withdrawal unless you prove the source of every coin you've ever traded on their exchange.
  • Bitstamp wants to get to know me a bit more than I'm comfortable with
  • Bitstamp asking intrusive questions before they allow any more USD wire withdrawals

Also I am worried that I will need another verification and it may cost me hundreds of dollars to prepare a recent certified/notarized copies of my company's documents.

exchange that accept wire transfers without verification?
by

I tried to verify on BTC-E 6 days ago, but they don't respond. Maybe the are very busy right now...

Is there an easy way to buy some bitcoins with wire transfer?

I searched for e-currency exchanges that accept wire transfers, but all of them require verification. I am worried about sharing my documents with strangers on the Internet...

This is why Bitcoin is useful - you don't need anyone's permission to make transactions or to "verify" your Bitcoin account ( The new Bitstamp's KYC questionnaire is intrusive and out of control ). However, if you want to use some interface between the legacy system and the new system, you need to follow the rules of the old system...

Well, I am fucked. My offshore bank has US based banks for USD transfers.

Is there a way to buy some bitcoins with wire transfer from corporate bank account without verification and using US banks as intermediaries (correspondent banks)?

I sent docs to BTC-E (via theri xbte.com website) 6 days ago and no response since then.

Please note, you're now contacting xBTCe, not btc-e company

You are sending your complains to the wrong address.

You should find the BTC-E.com's help desk.

1. Go to official BTC-E.com website (it.s BTC-e.com).
2. Click on the "Support" link (it's on the website's footer).
3. Click on "Submit a Ticket".

It looks that they are very busy. I sent them docs for verification 6 days ago and there is no result.

I tried to buy some services from a telecallmart.com (phone number with voicemail). They accept Bitcoin.

But in order to pay with Bitcoin, the customer need to make his first payment with PayPal "for verification". This is ridiculous. The alternative is unacceptable (they ask you to scan and send your government issued ID - no way to send my ID to strangers over the Internet).

Can we Diceware the Electrum word list? I mean I prefer to use real dices to the computer's random number generator to give me my words.

This script is using random numbers from dice, hashed random strings and computer generated random numbers. All random numbers are mixed using bitwise XOR.

* * *

Here is "Diceware" for Electrum 1.x. The disadvantage is you should "throw away" most of the random numbers (because there are 1625 words but all possible random numbers made with 5 dice rolls are 7776).

If you have 5 dice, you should roll them about 5 times for every random word you need (you roll them until you get valid senary number - the probability of getting the valid senary number is 20%). This is the price you pay for not using computer.

This works only with Electrum 1.x because 2.x is using checksums.

RaxCard.com is a scam.

Bitplastic.com is also scam.

They promote their websites using spam comments, spam forum posts, spam reddit posts and YouTube videos.

$20 minimal fee for exchange to PayPal? There is a better alternative for small amounts (their fee is about 7.4%, but they don't have minimal fee).

There is a minimal withdrawal amount (500USD) for PayPal on BTC-E:

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ouCezl9zquM/UrSvy5tgqjI/AAAAAAAAAP8/9rzczAp_RcU/s1600/btc-e-paypal-withdrawal.png

Also you need to wait for about 72 hours (according to the warning on the right).

There is another alternative for Bitcoin to PayPal exchange. Their minimal withdrawal amount is only $20 USD.

This payment service provider (aff. link*) also work with many payment systems. You can exchange your bitcoins to USD or RUB sent to your Visa or MasterCard (only works with non-US cards).

It is not a scam, this is how banking works.

Probably the receiver's bank did not received the details of payment because you add unnecessary information to the transfer (and banks probably are ignoring the most important part with numbers).

My answer at your Reddit thread.

I pointed the source of the image on my blog. (I am not the customer of that bank).

I cannot guarantee that this is real, but it looks plausible. My article is about how to circumvent the upcoming bank blockade. Not every US bank is blocking Bitcoin related transfers (for now), but I think that there is a high chance this will happen.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Bitmessage - P2P Messaging system based partially on Bitcoin

I made some test and it looks like the creator of the pseudo-mailing-list must be online in order messages send to this address to be received by subscribers.

Why this is needed? Why messages cannot be received if the creator of the pseudo-mailing-list is offline?
Because a pseudo-mailing-list, unlike a chan, works almost exactly like a normal mailing-list: you send a message to the server, and then the server re-broadcasts your message to everybody.

Thank you. Now I understand. I just updated my blog post about this.
