Forte Spagnolo Vineyards Last Produce For A Long Time
The grapes have gone bad both in 1600 and 1601. The workers have dutifully tried a third time in the hostile climactic conditions. 830 bottles of wine, grown and made in Old Town, have been able to be produced. Initial tasting shows that while everything turned out well this year, it just does not make sense to produce wine with a low yield and average quality.

Helpful tip for all of those who are new to the game. Risto likes to give out hints, and those who read and process them will get a leg up in the game (e.g. make sure you drink to your health or risk unknown consequences!). This is not for sure, but a hunch I have about what he wrote. Just trying to spread the knowledge I have about the game around to the new players!
The second opening we would like to fill with Expert Mooo, since he has been interested in the game, and could give the insight by a commoner player, not too often had in the TC yet.
I am honored by the trust His Majesty affords me, and will be glad to accept this nomination to the City Council, at gold holders' pleasure. I do not have such a thorough knowledge of all the city's rules as do other councillors, but will try my best to help the council steward the city's future.

To celebrate the Church's restoration of its brewing capacity, His Majesty the King graciously gave the Church license to create a special batch of highly prized barley wine. Rumor has it that this batch may well surpass in quality some of the wines available in Cryptotown. The Church will present the King and the Wizard Developer P.J. with the first bottles issued from this batch. This batch has been graded, and is a respectable 12-14/20. The quality is expected to increase with age up to a possible limit of 17/20, giving it the potential to be a very high quality barley wine.
First look at the barleywine, "Friar Maximus":
This wine is initially priced at 48,000 moneritos per bottle, and is suitable for those of expert or higher level. It is significantly cheaper than W1600, making it a good choice for those who have not quite made it to the nobility rank. Only 12,000 of these bottles will ever be made, so this barley wine has the possibility of becoming interesting to a collector after some time, as well as rising in price quite substantially in the meantime.
After the brewing of this first batch has concluded, the Church will be able to supply beer to everyone who wants to drink healthily without incurring the high costs of wine. The Church, desirous to keep healthy drinking available to the population at large, has decided to sell its quality Trappist beer at a low cost of only 5,000 moneritos per bottle, making this a very attractive option for poorer people. This would be a suitable drink for those at level 5 (Novice) and below. The Church hopes that, by keeping those costs low, more people will be able to afford beer. A healthier population will be a benefit to the entirety of Cryptotown and its economy.

There have been talks of rum in faraway lands. This excited Earl Noms, and he quickly started talking to interested parties who may like to join him on an adventure! Here are the details of the expedition:
Team
- SirJacket will be the team leader. He will also bring along a 4-horse carriage and funds as well as IC. He has worked with Noms in the past and they have a good rapport.
- Noms will be coming along because of his vast knowledge of land and land aquisition. His keen business sense will help in the negotations of the purchase of any rum, if found. He will also bring both funds and IC to the team, as well as a 4-horse carriage and lots of wine.
- Mooo saw the expedition as a chance to get a taste of country life again. As a former cowherd, he is used to life in the fields. Mooo will contribute some moneritos to the expedition's funds, and will be sure to bring his natural history drawing books to capture some of the most striking animals to be found in the far lands.
- Noms will bring along some of his military - a Lieutenant and 3 Privates. This is mostly a security force to help out in case there is trouble along the way before/after rum has been acquired. He will also bring along 2 Assistant 1's to help with the organization of the rum and helping facilitating the buying/negotiations.

Thank you HM & saddam!! I need to start using the IRC to communicate which I've never been a big user of before, so I'll get on that asap!! What is the best software to use for IRC? The odd few times I've used IRC in the past I've just used the web page version.
There are many versions out there that are actual client applications for Win/Mac/Linux, but I have found the easiest one to use by far is irccloud.com. It will keep you connected 24/7 even if you don't have the browser page loaded. This way you can read all logs even if your electricity/internet dies. It also will go to your smartphone via an app, so it's much easier to use in a more "modern" sense than irc is. I was turned onto this app by SirJacket, and I've been using it ever since. I think it is a nominal charge of $3-5/mo, so really not bad.

We ordered 12,000 bottles of wine to ensure that the month-long celebration does not become dry (it is expected that each guest drinks 30 bottles so there is "some" safety margin).
The wine is a special type of mixed wine, which does not qualify as Ancient, because A) it is forbidden to make ancient stuff B) it is bottled in 1600. Anyway, it cost double the per-bottle rate of the normal wine, so 2000 IC was spent on the purchase, making this the largest IC spend ever unless a higher amount is claimed that we don't know.
If we don't manage to drink it all, the guests will get some to take with them back home. It is likely that this mixed wine is higher rating than the W1600 vintage now, but it is unknown which one will be able to be aged longer and remain enjoyable.
The Summer Pavilion will also be used as part of the celebrations with its new large Wine Cellar.
Needless to say, this wine is special and by Royal Edict no similar wine or wine that claims to be older may ever be imported to the Kingdom. (All this without knowing if it even tastes good, but hopefully it does).

The Summer Pavilion will also be used as part of the celebrations with its new large Wine Cellar.
Needless to say, this wine is special and by Royal Edict no similar wine or wine that claims to be older may ever be imported to the Kingdom. (All this without knowing if it even tastes good, but hopefully it does).
I have added 5760 bottles of W1600, and 1440 bottles of the W1600M wine to my personal collection--some of which will be sold at the Gilded Goose. I plan to have an extensive wine cellar at the Gilded Goose, which was just built yesterday, in fact! There is a wide array of fine wine and caviar available for purchase
