Re: how do you choose Altcoin .. ??

There are several important factors:
- The idea behind the project/coin/token. Is it really needed? Is it solving a real problem and will it be used in 3-5-10 years ?
- The team behind it. Even if you have a great idea if you don't have the knowledge to make it reality you don't stand a chance.
- That's more of an opinion than a statement, but we,at Staking.com, believe the future of coins/tokens lies with the PoS. PoW is proving to have too many issues to solve and more and more new altcoins are using PoS or at least PoW/PoS hybrid.

Re: What do you think of Eth?

With all the upcoming changes and the implementation of Casper and the considerably low price at the moment, in our opinion,at Staking.com, the best possible move is to buy and hold for as long as possible. The price of ETH may reach $1500-2000 by the end of 2018 or Q1 2019. With the high competition in the face of EOS and NEO , Vitalik and Ethereum are forced to show their A Game and fight for their position on the market so expect a lot of surprises in the following months and have faith in ETH !
Good luck and may the odds be in your favour, guys !

Re: Year of altcoins or down again?

I would call it the year of PoS. More and more altcoins are being created as PoS or PoW/PoS hybrids and we,at Staking.com, predict that PoW will be a thing of the past in the near future, and righly so. The advantages of PoS are becoming more and more visible and the shortcomings of PoW will lead to its downfall. If you consider investing in ASIC miners you should think about it thoroughly and maybe invest in a stakeable coin or even a Masternode instead, which will pay off a lot faster and you won't have the urge to cry every time you see your electricity bill. We would recommend investing in ETH (because of the transition to PoW/PoS) , EOS (DPoS is a great innovative concept and if Dan Larimer can pull it off, the price of EOS can rise X2-3 by the end of 2018 or Q1 2019) and VeChain (great concept, upcoming Masternodes and world class team).
Hope this help ! Good luck to all !

They are not directly connected, but that doesn't mean they are totally unrelated to each other. I'm sorry if I explained it the wrong way - what I meant was that PoS offers scalability benefits. Projects based on a Proof of Stake algorithm have tackled many of the scaling issues of PoW by achieving better latency with less computation, bandwidth and storage.

It really depends from coin to coin. You should do you due diligence on the coins you invest in - the team behind them, the product itself (is it needed, will it be used in 5-10 years, whats the competition). We, at Staking.com, recommend PoS coins, because in our opinion they will replace the PoW coins and most of them will transition to PoS (just as Ethereum is doing right now). In addition to that its a lot easier to stake than it is to mine and it doesn't requier expensive miners and high electricity bills.

Re: How do I start investing in cryptocurrency?

We would recommend choosing and buying a PoS coin, which you believe will increase in volume and price and consider staking or setting up a Masternode. Its an easy and sure way to have stable passive income. This way you don't have to worry about expensive mining "tools" , your electricity bill won't make you cry every month and you still get all the benefits of mining, without the downsides. In our opinion at Staking.com, we believe that PoS is the future of cryptocurrencies and the sooner you get familiar with it, the easyer it will be for you to adapt to the upcoming changes in the crypto world.

Advantages of Staking over Mining.
by

There's been a debate over which consensus algorithm is better. We, at Staking.com, believe that the better choice and the future of cryptocurrencies lays with Proof of Stake (PoS). There are several main reasons backing this argument:
-You don’t have to spend your money buying a hardware, like ASICS or high-end GPUs used in mining which not only are not cheap, but also consume a lot of electricity and not only affect your profit, but also the entire envirenment itself.  Insted of spending your money on mining "tools" you can just buy the coin of your chosing and start making profit right away (in most cases).
-While mining you "create" new tokens, which means you don't need to be invested or even care about the project itself in order to mine a coin. On the other hand, in order to participate in the Staking you need to purchase and hold the coins you stake. It not only makes the price more stable, but also shows that you truly believe in a project/idea which is always the right mindset when chosing a cryptocurrency to invest in.
-The last but maybe the most important reasons is scalability. With PoS the coin can achieve 500-1000X more transaction per second comparing to Bitcoin for example (which currently stands at about 3-4 tps.
Hope this helps and if anyone has any question on the subject feel free to ask us !

Re: I'm a Newbie, how soon can I start participating in Airdrop/Bounty?

Well, for most Airdrops/Bounties all you need is a wallet (most of the times an Ethereum wallet, we personally would recommend MyEtherWallet) and for most cases Facebook account,Twitter account and Telegram. After that you are ready to go and participate in any Airdrops and Bounties. For the Translator Bounties you would need some time to learn the crypto therminology for your native language but its not rocket science.

Good luck !

Re: What different between Staking and Masternode
by
staking.com
on 17/05/2018, 09:31:27 UTC
Well, the most obvious one is the price. Its more expensive to become a Masternode but also the passive income is bigger. Other differences depend on the token itself. Most of the time there's a lot of information regarding the rewards and conditions in the whitepaper or the Website/Telegram/Discord of the Coin/Token. Another difference is the thing that for most Masternodes you need to be only 24/7 or at least 98-99% of the time or you will no longer receive rewards and will have to do some steps to reestablish your Masternode. So in that light, its more committing to be a Mastenode than to be just a staker. Another benefit of being a Masternode is that in most cases you can cast votes and make decisions regarding the future of the coin/token.
