Re: What do you think, will BTC again jump in December?
by

on 17/08/2018, 21:21:01 UTC
Hello Guys
I think, that will a BTC in next one or two months going down but, no so much, and then coming next jump. But this time, I think it will take longer and maybe will come also a new record resault. I will appreciate an expert comment.
I do not think that will happen, you can see that the market is in crisis at the moment, bitcoin prices are constantly adjusting and falling sharply in the past few months, current market capitalization only $ 200 billion. Therefore, I believe that bitcoin prices will not recover in the near future and will continue to fall deeper.

Re: Which cryptocurrency should I invest in, in 2018? Why?
by
strongwarrior238
on 17/08/2018, 21:14:21 UTC
I’m going to be accumulating the majority of the coins below over the course of 2018 Q1—I’m a big believer in a diversified portfolio.

Especially in crypto.

I split coins into 3 tiers. Coins in tiers 1 & 2 I will be continuously adding to my holdings throughout Q1.

I based these tiers on my investment strategy, I highly suggest creating a strategy before investing in anything.

You need to have a goal that you’re working towards, and a framework for how you want to reach that goal.

My goal is to increase my holdings of Tier 1 & 2 coins, by trading coins from tier 3 on a short-medium time frame (2–6 months).

I also margin trade Tier 1 & 2 coins and use profits to increase my overall $BTC position.

Don’t margin trade.

It’s bad.

Not margin trading is rule #8 in my “10 Crypto Commandments”.

Some of these coins I don’t believe in as long term investments.

Most of the time, the criteria I use to pick coins starts fundamentally with the team, roadmap, and community.

Once I’ve deemed a coin as “Fundamentally Strong”, I then go into the charts and apply Technical Analysis to determine if I can get a solid entry point.

Sometimes, I’ll see a coin I don’t think will last in the long run, but the chart is just too pretty to say no. I will denote these coins with an [X] by their name.

Cliche Disclaimer: none of this is financial advice, don’t even listen to me, I’m a random person on the internet — I could be full of sh*t and you wouldn’t know it.

Do your own research and only ever invest what you can afford to lose.

Tier 1

Bitcoin ($BTC)

I always hold at least a little BTC. Bitcoin is the market leader, and until that changes, I will always hedge against my Altcoin investments with Bitcoin. I typically have any where from 10–30% of my portfolio in Bitcoin depending on Bitcoin dominance at that time.

Bitcoin dominance refers to the percentage of the total cryptocurrency market share which is held by Bitcoin. You can check the live stat here.

The link also shows the market dominance of the other major coins on the market- spend some time getting to know the chart and notice how coins market caps correlate negatively or positively with each other.

Understanding the market cycles of crypto is pivotal to successful investing.

Tier 2

Neo ($NEO) & Ethereum ($ETH)

ETH and NEO are competitors. They solve the same problems, are both serious coins with large market caps, and I hold both as long term investments.

I’m not hedging against my bets by investing in competitors. It’s feasible to me that these two entities could co-exist in the future in a fashion similar to how Apple and Samsung coexist.
As I see the crypto market now, you should only invest in bitcoin to be profitable with the least risk, you can see that the market is fluctuating continuously and very hard to guess, bitcoin price. Continuous correction is ongoing. Therefore, I believe that at this time you should only invest in bitcoin because the price of altcoin is very strong and can not afford to recover.

Re: Is Bitcoin in a DotCom recovery phase?

Credit goes to source : https://www.cnbc.com/2018/08/14/crypto-advocate-bitcoins-narrative-problem-is-spooking-investors.html

The Altcoin market is currently a war zone and it looks like a small Dotcom bubble have burst.  Roll Eyes

I compare Bitcoin to the bigger Microsoft/Dell/Yahoo companies, during the DotCom bubble and the Alt coins to the gazillion of tech companies that went bankrupt.

Will Alt coins suffer the same fate and will Bitcoin rose out of the ashes like these bigger companies, that ended up being bigger and stronger than what they were, before the DotCom bubble burst?

What do you think?
I think that the recovery period is over from 2017, you can see that 2018 is a year of continuous decline in bitcoin prices, the market is gradually in crisis as bitcoin and altcoin prices are constantly falling. . Therefore, I believe that this time you should only short-term investment and trading on bitcoin in order to minimize risk.

Re: Does holding long term can be worthy despite of unpredictable market?
by
strongwarrior238
on 17/08/2018, 20:56:53 UTC
I am still eager to think more positive ways despite how unpredicatable the market is. We couldn't control it actually because if there's an option to manipulate the current market, I woudl really love to do that. We're bound here to earn profit so the desire is always there , but since the current situation remarkably stressing us out, maybe we must stay calm for the main time.
I know that the market at the moment is not suitable for you to hold long, you can see that the market is in the long-term bear market and you can only profit from long-term hold when the market rises. So at this point in time, I believe you should only trade short-term to get the least risk.

Re: Will you trade Bitcoin to buy Altcoins?
by
strongwarrior238
on 17/08/2018, 20:50:38 UTC
I was looking at the possibility of investing in several Altcoins as part of my trading by selling off Bitcoins. I do feel that with proper planning and execution, the profits that could be reaped through these Altcoins by day trading in a week would be far superior to that of Bitcoin.

It is true I am talking in terms of a short term gain. BTC is certainly a long term investment but what about the short term gains? As an example, even if I invest in 1000 coins of IOTA or 10000 coins of NEM, I am assured of greater volatility in the market for these coins compared to that of BTC. If NEM makes a high on a particular day even by 0.05$ USD, I would make 0.05x10000 = 500$ USD in a day if I sell all my coins at that price.

Of course, trading does involve many other practical factors which make things not as simply as I write here. But being a pro I can simplify the complexity and say that it is certainly possible to make it so.

But will this not be a way to make decent income every day? When you invest in cryptocurrency, it is a need for one to continually observe the market trends. When one is able to understand the intricacies of the market then it is better that he takes up (day) trading.

After all it is important we make money on a regular basis apart from the long term investment isn’t it so?
I think that the time is right for you to trade bitcoin and buy altcoin, you can see that the ddang market has shown signs of a slight recovery in recent days, the price of altcoin is also so that is recovering. very strong . So I believe that you can buy altcoin at this time and short term trading, the market is fluctuating continuously so always have a specific trading plan to minimize the risk.

Re: Bitcoin at 4500$-5000$ August-September 2018 !!!
by

on 17/08/2018, 20:44:05 UTC
Hello dears!
Think I am crazy when I say that the cue ball will be 4500-5000$ for August-September! Can be! Do not argue! But my opinion is the place to be and here's why.

1) Institutions do not want to buy a cue ball for a high price.
2) according to the latest CBOE reports , mega whales are sitting in shorts.
3) Ruling the world just don't want the majority of people got rich and why do so people lost faith in the cue and sold on the cheap.
And the last...
4) analysis of the cue ball for 2014. He fell exactly 10 times! Therefore, from the previous highs ($20,000) ,the cue ball should fall to$ 2000 (but this is the Scam). Therefore 4500-5000$ I think it is real!

Your thoughts are interesting. What do you think about this ?
I think the bitcoin price will probably go down even further, maybe even down to the $ 2000 mark, you can see that the market is fluctuating and it is hard to predict, bitcoin prices are adjusting and Volatility is very strong, the market is showing signs of crisis. Currently the market capitalization is only $ 200 billion so I believe you should only invest short term at this point.

Re: How to find good cryptos?
by
strongwarrior238
on 17/08/2018, 00:00:40 UTC
Hi,

there are so many cryptos and I find it hard to identify the ones where I should have a closer look.
Obviously one can find cryptos e.g. by listening to shilling on Reddit. But I'm looking for more professional sources like YouTube channels, free/ paid Telegram/Discord groups and so on. What do you use?
You can see that at the moment bitcoin prices are adjusting at $ 6400 and can continue to drop sharply at any time, so I believe that at this point you should not continue to buy bitcoin. The market is very bad so you should stay out and wait for the bitcoin price to stabilize again to be able to trade bitcoin at the lowest risk.

Re: Trading In the Bear | Checkout Whats Good & Bad |
by
strongwarrior238
on 16/08/2018, 23:49:47 UTC
Year 2018, its been rough year until now starting from the first day. When December 2017 hike came into effect then everyone thought that next year bitcoin and most of the Top altcoins will spike themselves by doubling themselves in volume. With that thought in mind most of the people invested heavily at wrong time.

That was the initial event when 2018 started. We surged through mega dump in the period January to February by dropping ourself to 16,000 USD and then 10,000 USD all the way down to 30-40% from ATH of December.

Traders Who Invested in December :

These people suffered a lot due to this kind of drop. They already went down by 40% from initial investment and there is no way they are going to recover that investment until the time they see 16K plus prices. But according to what I read over the forum most of the people with hard truth sold their coins already in the bear and incurred with huge losses ranging from 20-40%.

Learning : This event taught us that whenever the market goes many folds high then its the worst time to invest. Do not think that if the market has hiked itself heavily means it has become stronger and it will grow even further. No, that is the worst outcome you can predict from that. So whenever the crypto currency is in bull run ( ~ 20% + high from initial value) then its not the time to enter the market but to halt your trading operations.

Traders Who Invested in February to May :

These were the traders who had the excited state after the ATH's. They made investment whenever the price dropped below 10K USD during this period. We had 4-6 such occurrences when the BTC price moved from 10K to 8K USD and it was the exact time when you will see heavy rush in the market and more 24 hours volume than any other period. However this was too soon to predict that the BTC might go boom at anytime after tomorrow, then after day after tomorrow but nothing like that happened and BTC dropped even further to lowest of 2018 that is 6K USD by April midway. People took further shot of investing at this period and then this pumped the market to 8K USD by the end of May. They had great time with this peak because most of them got the profits as they invested during the trough and sold at crest. Perfect trade! But not the best one.

Learning: Investment should not be done in excitement because it may result in some sort of loss which could be unprecedented. In this group not all the people got benefited because many of the bought the coins at 10K USD which was still the highest point until the May. However there were people who bought the bitcoin by looking at the bottom price of BTC which was around 6K USD. Nonetheless they made great profits after BTC started its wave off the trough reaching 8 to 10K USD. So the second group here analysed the situation by somewhat studying the bottom price and made the profits.

Traders Who Invested in May to August :

These are the group of investors who have already understood that this year is not so good for bitcoin and it is all surrounded with the Bearish Trend of bitcoin and even other coins indeed. This taught good lesson and people have now created strategy of buying bitcoin by investing only when they see the bottom rates. Sometimes it is hard to see the bottom rate but with the current years movement it is finalised that bitcoin will never go down to 5.5-6K USD looking at the current trade volume of bitcoin. This group will benefit the most in this year because they are probably holding their coins, they know very well 8, 10K USD is nothing but illusion and what they need to do is, to wait and see BTC moving above 10K USD to have proper sell of from the bear trend.

Leanring : The best thing to do is, research your "trade trend". After looking at 8 months of data one can surely state that we are not going off the bearish trend so easily and thus it might get difficult to get profits in such time. So the best way to keep buying at the troughs and whenever you see the bottom price. DONT rush the bitcoin selling whenever you see little green spikes, that would be mad decision to take because you are still selling in the Bear trend and not profiting with great % share.

Bear Fear

For those who are not capable of having control over their investment can do one easy stuff : They can go for the short term trading along with the swing mode.  Though we are in the bear mode then also crypto currencies keep fluctuating within that bear wave by 5-10% on a day or two basis. It can be done with careful selection of coins with such volatility and still have profits being in the bear. With the time you may think that Bear is nothing and just nausea which can be overcome very easily.

My Conclusion from 2018 "Trade Trend"

I was very much disappointed when I first saw the dumpsters in crypto currencies as my investment in versatile coins was going down very crazy. But over the period I did notice these troughs and crest and cant tell you how important they are while investing into the crypto. Whenever I see wide open graph of BTC or any currency then we can clearly see that from January to August every coin has made a wavy pattern with long troughs and crest and then you realise that you could have bought at lowest rates and that too many times and could have sold at high rates many more times. This way profiting yourself multiple times and by re-inevstign your profits.

Key Notes :

1) There is still great possibility that this trend will continue.
2) There is NO POINT in asking when moon will come, because you can still gain profits whether its bear or bull.
3) Bearish trend is just your fear, it doesnt matter for how long it will stay.
4) Try to look at the smaller picture rather than bigger one, because no one knows the future trends.
5) You don't really need TA and other analysts to let you know whats coming, because you can predict whats the trough and when is the crest to buy and sell.
I believe that trading in the bear market is very difficult and the liquidity is very low, you can see that bitcoin and altcoin prices are constantly falling, the market is bearish in the long run, so to To minimize risk, I believe you should have a specific plan before the transaction. At present, the market capitalization is only $ 200 billion so I think the bitcoin price will continue to fall in the near future.

Re: NO! Do Not Invest all you have on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies
by
strongwarrior238
on 16/08/2018, 23:33:47 UTC
I have read several posts on this forum where people have claimed to have invested all the money they have on Bitcoin, I also read a post where a guy claimed to have used all the $20,000 his uncle gave him to also invest in Bitcoin, some even sold their landed property. The reason for these risks and others is the firm believe that Bitcoin would be $50,000 - $100,000 by the year 2019 or thereabout.

First, I must say that I admire the courage and high risk appetite of such persons. But, I must also warn.
Yes, It is good for everyone to have high hopes for Bitcoin, and also hope it gets to 100k USD in future, but you should also consider a safety factor in anything you do including investing.

Mathematically,

DO NOT Assume,
P(Success of future term) = 1 ; and
P(Failure of future term) = 0

This implies that, you must always leave a little fraction for probability of failure which in this case is the safety factor, no matter how little the fraction may be. Simply put, you don't have absolute control of what happens to Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies in the future.

Invest wisely, only invest what you can afford to loose

Just a piece of advice.

What are your own suggestions?
You can see that bitcoin and altcoin prices have been falling steadily over the past few months, so the market is in a bear market for a long time, so I believe you should not invest all your money in crypto. It can be seen that the market is fluctuating continuously and difficult to predict, bitcoin prices are constantly adjusting, so in order to minimize the risk, you always have to divide your capital and invest in many areas other.

Re: Everyone is free to use Bitcoin as they want
by
strongwarrior238
on 15/08/2018, 23:22:08 UTC
There's an ongoing debate in and outside of Bitcoin community regarding the economic nature of Bitcoin: is it a currency or an asset, a store of value, settlement layer and so on. The situation with ETF's also sparked some debates, as some argue that ETF's are bad and Bitcoin should stick to its cypherpunk roots and ignore the mainstream.

I think all sides kinda miss the point of Bitcoin. Bitcoin was created so people can send coins directly to others, without any mandatory middleman. Therefore, every use case is as legit as any other use case, it doesn't violate the freedom of any other user of the network. It doesn't even matter if Satoshi wanted Bitcoin to be a decentralized currency that will kill banks, because one of the principles of Bitcoin is censorship resistance, so if some people want to use centralized services, want regulated environments, speculation and so on, it's their right. All those things have no effect on people who want to use Bitcoin as an alternative currency.

So, I think there is no single answer to whether Bitcoin is an asset or a currency, everyone decides for themselves, because freedom is the ultimate point of Bitcoin.
You can see that the market is fluctuating continuously and is in the downtrend stage, the bitcoin and altcoin prices are constantly decreasing, transactions are increasingly difficult, so I think the transaction fee will be pushed up. This means that you can earn more profit for the owners of the exchanges, compensating for losses from the market.

Re: Is NOW the best time to buy or enter in bitcoin?
by
strongwarrior238
on 14/08/2018, 23:40:51 UTC
Bitcoin prices plunged from $4900 to $3300 withing pan of few days. Now some news-points from bitcoin world are claiming this price plunge was planned. Check following links:

https://news.bitcoin.com/after-the-boss-calls-bitcoin-a-fraud-jp-morgan-buys-the-dip/
http://btc-flow.in/2017/09/16/after-the-boss-calls-bitcoin-a-fraud-jp-morgan-buys-the-dip/
http://btc-flow.in/2017/09/16/after-the-boss-calls-bitcoin-a-fraud-jp-morgan-buys-the-dip/

Now without going into whether above claims are true or not, my concern is "Isn't this is the right time to enter the bitcoin market or purchase few more". There is definite signs of improvement in the bitcoin price market. Current price is around $3757. It is quite possible to see bitcoin back to 4k to 5k or more. Given biggest players from finance sector are eying this lucrative market.
What do you think, is this is right time to buy some more bitcoins or wait and watch?

You can see that bitcoin prices are beginning to recover slightly after touching $ 5900, now bitcoin prices have started to recover to $ 6100 level and are still on the recovery. So I think you should buy bitcoin at this time and do not keep altcoin. The market is bearish and I think you should sell the bitcoin when the price reaches $ 6800.

I think you should not buy bitcoin at this time, it is very dangerous because bitcoin prices are likely to drop sharply in the near future. I think if you want to buy bitcoin at this time, then split your capital and buy bitcoin in batches so that you can minimize the risk and damage when the bitcoin price drops.

Which do you prefer?

Hello Everyone, want to ask few questions here.

Short term or Long term investment?
Which is more profitable to you?
What coins  do think that is good for long term now?

Feel free to comment your ideas and opinions.

I prefer the long term investment because it is more profitable compare to short term investments. Long term investment is also safer to avoid big losses.

Yes right, I also prefer long term, in investment, of course we have to have the right strategy, if we rely on short tempo then every hour we have to monitor prices, and many people panic when the price drops, but with a long term it makes us more calm .
You can see that the market is in the long-term downtrend, so I believe that at this point you should only short-term investment to be able to minimize risk and make a profit safely. It can be seen that the market is constantly fluctuating and difficult to kick, so to be able to trade at this time is very difficult, if you invest long term the risk will be greater if the bitcoin price continuously Drop sharply and irretrievably, you will be stuck capital.

There's no better time to buy bitcoin right now when the bitcoin price is so scary because when it comes down to a large amount because your money is losing money.
As a investor of bitcoin, i think this month is the best time to buy a lot of bitcoin because for sure the value of bitcoin will just be stable at $6500 on the whole month of august so all of the investor should buy now and hold there bitcoin for long term.
I think that although bitcoin is at $ 6500, you can see that the market is in a bear market for a long time and that the bitcoin price will continue to drop sharply at any moment, so I believe At this point you should not buy bitcoin. I think you should wait to buy at $ 5800 as this is a very strong support level and bitcoin prices will be able to rebound.

It is always a good time to start buying bitcoin if the money that you buy is an excess of yours because anytime the value of bitcoin may increase or rise. You don't need to buy bitcoin if the capital you will invest will be your source to finance your expense. The tendency is you will use it even it will result to a loss because you don't have any emergency fund to pay out your expenses.
I think that at this time if you buy bitcoin the risk will be very high, you can see that bitcoin prices are dropping sharply in the past few days and when touching the $ 6200 level, bitcoin prices have increased again, now Bitcoin prices are heading for $ 6400. I believe that bitcoin prices will continue to fall sharply at any time as you can see that buying power is weakening and prices for altcoin are beginning to fall.

I'm not sure if I have time to play with charts and trade a lot, like I have seen some youtubers doing.
They make you really believe that is more like a skill and if you are good at it, it works.
My friend told me that is just about how lucky you are, and not a skill.
So, should I stick with holding or playing day trade is a better option?
To be able to trade the day successfully, I believe you need to have a specific trading plan and need to identify the exact market. You can see that the market is constantly fluctuating and bitcoin prices are constantly decreasing in the last time is very difficult. That is why baj needs to have a specific plan before the transaction to minimize the risk.

HODL only works in bull season or if you invest for a long time. But you can earn good amount of money in a bearish market if you make day trading.
right ! You can only hold and invest long-term when the market is in uptrend, but the current market is bearish in the long term, so to be able to profit with the lowest risk, you only should invest short and day trading. Always have a plan and follow the plan and I believe you will succeed.

Hi, I am a crypto-hamster and bought bitcoin when it cost 17,000 and decided to trade on the Bitfinex exchange withe margin.
In this business I was not experienced, so I followed the advice of different traders and their signals.
In the end I lost 10 thousand dollars when bitcoin fell to 6k , but it was money that I was ready to lose, i.e. free.
Now I do not have the desire to trade, but I want to earn money on crypto currency, because it's interesting and I believe that the future is for the crypto currency.
Now I want to try to make money on bounty programs.
And I want to ask you advice in this difficult matter. Where to start, and is it profitable at all?
With a market that is declining in the long run and bitcoin prices are falling sharply in the past time, I believe that at this time you should limit the transaction and it is best not to trade at this time because The risk is very high, the profit is low but the damage will be very big when the bitcoin prices fell sharply. I believe that at this point you should stand out from watching and wait for bitcoin prices to stabilize again to be able to retire.

Re: What will you do with the current market?
by
strongwarrior238
on 08/08/2018, 22:02:49 UTC

Looking at the current market, many people are disappointed in the market price, bitcoin prices stomping at the $ 7000 level, altcoin prices are falling deeply. Recent good news, however, shows that the market continues to grow and has great potential in the future. What would you do this time: Buy bitcoin, buy altcoin or do nothing?
You can see that the market has been fluctuating continuously over the past few days, and as the price of bitcoin and altcoin is constantly decreasing, you can see that the current price of bitcoin has fallen to $ 6200 and According to my analysis, the bitcoin price could drop to $ 6,000 and $ 5800. So you should stay out of the market at this point and divide your capital to wait for the bitcoin to buy at the above.
