You can use a custom pool on Hiveon.
If it's for a solo rig, they won't charge you the fees.

Help, I have Vega 56 sapphire and I can achieve 58MH but not stable, it keeps crashing over and over until I increase RCDRD to 19-20 but I can't increase memory clock more than 900 too what am I doing wrong ?

58 MH/s is crazy high Hashrate.
the max stable hashrate I have witnessed id 54-56 MH/s
Everything over 52 is sillicon lottery

TeamRed miner is the best for me, I tried SRBminer and NBminer then I lost significant amount of hashrate using RX Vega 56 cards, I instantly went back to team red miner..

Teamred         SRbminer       NBminer
    46MH               36MH               36MH with DAG error
That is pretty low for a Vega

With TeamRedMiner and proper timing (amdmemtweak), my Vega can achieve 50 to 54 MH/s (but I keep them @50 to be less power hungry)

Re: Best OS for Vega build

I am trying to find the best Mining OS for my 7x Vega 56 rig and hiveOS have a separate OS for Vega cards only, have anyone give this a try? Any Vega miner on here? How is the performance compare to MMPOS ?
I run Hive OS with my Vega for a long time. It's perfect
My brother prefer mmPOS, both works great

The important thing is to be able to tune the memory timing, wich can be made with UI on mmPOS
Or with command on Hive OS

Re: Is it safe to use 2 PSU to run 8X RTX 3070?

Hi Bitcointalk community,

I was planning to run 8X RTX 3070 on my mining rig with the Asus Prime Z390-A Motherboard.
I already have a mining rig with that motherboard running 8X GTX 1660 Super but only with one EVGA PSU 1000W.

To run 8X RTX 3070 I bought an EVGA PSU 1300W which is enough for the power but the problem I was not expecting is that most of the RTX 3070 have 2X 8-pin or 8-pin + 6-pin power connectors so I don't have enough PCI-e cables from my EVGA PSU 1300W. I need another PSU.

I am planning to buy an EVGA PSU 850W with a 24 Pin Male to Female Dual PSU Power Supply Cable like this:
https://www.amazon.ca/Female-Power-Supply-Motherboard-Adapter/dp/B013HTWI9G/ref=asc_df_B013HTWI9G/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459480626555&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9215816340627094877&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9000455&hvtargid=pla-351408993297&psc=1

I guess I should always connect a riser and a gpu to the same PSU but other than that is it safe to use 2 PSU on a mining rig?

Is there something to do in the BIOS?

Any suggestions for which 24 Pin Male to Female Dual PSU Power Supply Cable to buy?

Thank you guys!

I use this kind of dual PSU cable and it works great.
As you said, never mix the PSU (One PSU for the mobo, And GPU + riser on same PSU) and I will be ok

PS : Avoid problems and do use SATA adapter for the risers, they are potentially too weaks (~54W per plug)

Yes, it's 1150W With a wattmetter on the plug (for the whole rig - 2 Platinium PSU + Mobo + CPU + SSD + 7 Vega)
Some cards are better than others, but with my settings the range for the real consumption is 130-150 W

Wich is really fair for an old card.
I know that RTX 3060 Ti or RX 5700 would have better efficiency, but they were overpriced.

I bought my Vega from 225 to 300€ in september-october 2020

amdmemtweak --gpu 0,3,6 --ras 26 --rcdrd 13 --rcdwr 12 --rc 38 --rp 12 --rrds 3 --rrdl 5 --rtp 6 --faw 12 -- cwl 8 --wtrs 4 --wtrl 9 --wr 13 --ref 24000 --rfc 239
amdmemtweak --gpu 1,2,4,5 --cl 18 --ras 23 --rcdrd 13 --rcdwr 11 --rc 34 --rp 13 --rrds 3 --rrdl 4 --rtp 6 --faw 12 --cwl 7 --wtrs 4 --wtrl 4 --wr 11  --rfc 164 --REF 17000

My goal was to tune the Vega 56 to acheive 50 MH/s with the lower power consumption and stability (It can ran for weeks without reboot)
My whole rig is 352 MH/s @1150 W at the wall

No bios trick are needed, it's just memory timing.
I use teamredminer on HiveOS + amdmemtweak to apply timing and it's pretty cool.
https://github.com/todxx/teamredminer (they have tweaking guide)
I have a steady 50 MH/s (I can push to 52-53, but the extra watts are not efficient)

SMOS because your mining rig performance will stay the same no matter how many months have past, on others it reduce overtime, another good one is HiveOS

Hi Guys,

If i am to use linux but stand alone distro not mining distros available which one would you recommend?
Also, in regards of overclocking cards i found https://gitlab.com/leinardi/gwe - anyone tried this software?

HiveOS is great

Their VEGA settings are are jokes !
VEGA 56/64 can do an easy 50 MH/s with amdmemtweak to change the timing on the fly

I just made a fast check the github and the program source seems safe.
The program use this lib (https://github.com/basil00/Divert) to intercept the TCP packet and modify them to be sure they are not heading to the dev fee

One 16x slot is great for testing a GPU in the slot.
But when you build the rig, you will use risers so 1x slots are OK (PCIE ou MOLEX powered risers ... avoid SATA connectors)

You can probably find a cheap used motherboard like a H81 PRO BTC ou H110 PRO BTC. I used both and they are doing great

ehh, I use those, sata to pcie on 3 gpus and it is fine. if they cant hadle ~50W than fuckem.
Is this safe/ok to use?
Many horror stories about those...

I am worried now!
Any more opinions?

If you can ... DO NOT USE SATA adapter.
SATA can't pull more than 45-50W and the PCI-E Slot can ask for 75W at max.

So if you can, use PCI-E 6 pin connector ... if you can't use MOLEX ... if you can't use SATA but you have to know what you are doing (check the power consumption of the PCI-E slot)

Re: PhoenixMiner 5.5c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux)

Hi, hoping for some help with 1 of my 3090's I use for mining. Using v5.5c.
The problem I'm having is as soon as it hits around 60c temp, the performance drastically goes down. For some reason the card stops pulling the usual ~350 watts and only draws ~270 watts after 60c ish temperature is hit. I have a 2nd 3090 which pulls much higher, has no monitors plugged into it and draws around 400 watts. That card will happily go up to 66-67c temps and remains at the 400 watts draw. I'm really scratching my head with the first 3090. It hurts watching it's hshrate go from 120mh to 90mh just because the temp climbs from 56c to 60c lol. Meanwhile the 2nd card doesn't seem to care about temperature and will chug away doing 122mh with 400 watts.
If you need any extra information such as logs, OC settings etc then please let me know and I can provide them.
Know issue of the 3080/3090
The GPU is cool, but the mem temp is too hign.
Add backplate fans to cool the mem and it will be ok
And if you don't care about losing waranty, you can also change/add thermal pads

I had two nvidia cards for long time and neve had this problem.
Right now I ahve RTX 3090 and GTX 1070 Ti on the same desktop and everything is fine

I'm pretty sure it's only a probleme with driver or maybe your mobo slot

Yep

Your  second card (http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/21/03/10/7ck.png)
GPU-Z seems to indicate that is not a CUDA device (CUDA is not checked)
You probably have a problem with your driver

Hi! Trying to run nicehash miner but getting this error:

Code:
Build time: 2021-03-06 07:21:00
Build number: 714
Provided startup commandline: -c commands.json -qx -qm -wp 18000 -d 2 -f 6

[19:37:55][0x00001998][info] core | Disabling device GeForce GTX 1080 (#0)

When running unMineable I get this log so it looks ok:

Code:
Phoenix Miner 5.3b Windows/msvc - Release build
-----------------------------------------------

CUDA version: 11.0, CUDA runtime: 8.0
No OpenCL platforms found
Available GPUs for mining:
GPU1: GeForce GTX 1080 (pcie 1), CUDA cap. 6.1, 8 GB VRAM, 20 CUs

I have reinstalled drivers and restarted computer. I also fiddled with the CUDA P2 setting with on and off and restarting

Any ideas why it is showing the error?

Usually -d parameter is for device ... so -d 2 means "Mine with only device 2"
But your GPU is device 0, so that why it is disabled

Try to remove -d param

3080 and 3090 need fresh air on the backplate.
Add some fan to blow the backplate, it is simple and will really help

I do this on my 3090. If not it throttle to 90 Mh/s after some minutes, but with backplate cooler, I run at steady 112 MH/s for 295W
