If you know anyone on any bitmain pools or slush (which is probably now a bitmain pool also) with over 2PH then tell them about it Smiley

This is from the threads OP -- which I read because I was intrigued by your contest.

I'm just curious why you would suggest that Slush is a Bitmain Pool?

This is a legitimate question.  Like some here -- I was one of the group that began the "merged mining" which was the beginning of Slush.  Until 1 1/2 years ago I stayed in touch with the people over at Satoshi Labs and even participated in their Cryptoanarchist hackers convention.

Is this legitimate?  Is it rumor that I haven't heard?  Or just internet BS?

Seriously -- I'm genuinely interested because Bitmain has really bothered me lately with their BCH agenda (not to mention the "ordinary" laundry list of concerns).

Thanks!

Fellas, I am really sorry for the question, but I am new to Slushpool and have been browsing to find an option for hash rate alert (email or phone notification). I know it is possible as it is written in the Help article. I also read that you must switch on reporting first in Slush, but  I can't seem to find how to. Any hint will be appreciated, in the mean time I continue googling.

Go to "settings" -- in the upper left quadrant, click on "Bitcoin" -- then click on "Monitoring".

You can also edit each worker to set your monitoring limits.

Does anyone know how to mine BCC (bitcoin cash) solo?

I'm just wondering where people that might want to take advantage of a potential quick profit with their mining gear would solo mine BCC?  I know that viaBTC has a pool -- any other options?  Thanks!

Code exploded with that and didn't find a block so I'm gonna take the pool down for a bit to resuscitate it.  Embarrassed

None of your share counts will be lost.

Thanks Philipma for you post.

I only have a small amount of my power here -- and it has always concerned me that kano doesn't budge from his pure philosphical stance.  Personally, I'm a compromiser -- yet only want what is best for bitcoin's future -- even if that means losing a little in tx fee income.

It is nice to see a big mind (like yours) present a simple easy to understand argument.

Thanks!

So I challenge all you miners out there with more than 30THs - that's all I'm running atm - and if I can point one of my miners, I mean droids, at jonny's pool than so can YOU.

Challenge accepted.

I'm pointing the luckiest one of my S7's this way.

Looking forward to pointing everything this way as soon as the base hash hits at least 4 or 5PH.  If everyone participates in your challenge, it shouldn't be long.  Smiley

BCMonster finding a block has to do with them getting an influx in hash, not with them updating to 0.14 Smiley.

Speaking of updating... all coin daemons on my pool have been updated to 0.14.

I'm also upping the block finder bonus... for a limited time.  If you find a block between now and the end of the day Sunday (3/12/2017 23:59:59 EDT), you will receive 1.5BTC bonus.

Good luck everyone!

I am unable to travel back in time to participate in the promotion you just posted.   Huh

Having stated that -- the thing that frustrates me the MOST is that this pool has never taken off.  EVEN if we only hit 1 block a week month -- it would be doable.

The pool experience here was way more fun than anywhere I've ever mined.

The contests here are the COOLEST and MOST FUN of anywhere.

If you decide to change your contest parameters to dates in the future -- I'll be happy to participate!  And, more importantly, if we can get some other people to mine here -- I would love for this pool to be my permanent home.

Use both. You are going to need to sell some bitcoin to pay for expenses. So mine directly to coinbase. After all your expenses are paid. Move what you want to save once a month to the trezor.

1)  Not everyone pays their mining expenses by selling mined coins.

2)  This doesn't address the anonymity issue.  I'm sure I'm not the only one here that doesn't want the government to know how much btc I hold.  It's none of their business.  If, and when, I choose to use/trade/sell -- then I'll route it through a kyc account -- and they'll know about it.  In my country (the U.S.) -- that is the only time there is a tax implication.

I agree with everything he says.  The question I was posing -- is there another solution that I'm not aware of where I can compile and aggregate the micro transaction payouts from kano -- fee free and anonymously.  Not holding the private key for a week at a time earnings is a risk I'm willing to take.

I'll weigh in on this one.

The per block payout is probably my biggest 'dislike' regarding mining here on this pool.

For me -- I don't "spend" the bitcoin often -- and then, when I do, it takes forever for my trezor to compile all of the tiny transactions to make up however many btc I'm trying spend.  If the amount is over 4btc -- it won't even work due to the size.  Also, the transaction fees are horrendous.

Having said that -- I get kano's perspective that he isn't a bank.

Just one of those quirky things I guess about this pool.

As an aside -- I just recently changed my payout address from my trezor to a coinbase wallet -- and I'll aggregate there without the fees.  The thing I don't like about this plan, is that it is coinbase (with their kyc rules).  Does anyone else know of an online wallet that one can aggregate micro transactions -- and then occasionally pull them into cold storage anonymously and fee free?

Re: [150+ PH] SlushPool (slushpool.com); World's First Mining Pool

I didn't check the dashboard all day -- so, not sure if I experienced the same problem.  However, I do see the long gap in between blocks during that time frame.  And, also for some reason, I am showing a discrepancy on hash power from my miner interface here and the slush dashboard of about 2% +/-.  (This normally doesn't happen at Slush).

I've had this discrepancy over on Jonny Bravo's site, which is why I've been mining here, Kano. Bitminter, and, until recently ghash.

For example, my miner dashboard says 13.04 Th -- and Slush worker page shows 11.3 Th.

Any idea on what causes this?

And -- I already received a response.

Thank you for contacting us. I'm happy to assist you. Actually the delay in payouts is currently on our side. Let me explain, please. For security reason pool uses two wallets – Hot and Cold.
The funds immediately available for payouts are kept in a Hot wallet. This wallet has quite a low balance for security reasons and when it becomes empty, the pool administrator has to load it from the cold storage – a highly secured offline computer keeping pool's bitcoins. Since this process can not be automated and only very limited number of people has access to the cold wallet, it can introduce a few hours delay in sending bitcoins to user's wallet.

Thanks for your patience. We will make sure your payout will leave the pool today

Two points:

1)  Chinese New Year should NOT come as a surprise.  All of China pretty much shuts down to celebrate.

2)  Don't they have a warranty center in Colorado?  Did you have to ship to China because they didn't have the parts in Colorado?

I've been fortunate over the years that I've only needed to do simple things (like replace a fan a few times and probably will need to replace a controller on one of my B1 S9s soon) well after the warranty expired.  Things that I can do easily on my own.

However,  I do understand your frustration.  And, yes, they are notorious when it comes to these issues.

How much are these? I don't understand how much it says on their site.

$130 USD per Terrahash (6.3) = $819
